1. Folks seem to forget a ball that catches the corner could be over a foot off the plate when the catcher recieves it. Your better players will(should) figure out the ump in the first cpl of innings, it used to burn me up late in the game when a batter comes in bitching after getting called out on a low pitch WHEN he has been calling it there ALL nite. An inconsistant umpire is one I would not want behind the plate....I can live with >any< umpires 'zone' if he's consistant
2. I agree HJ has fell on their face, thats simple to see, I also agree that umpires are human and make mistakes. You would have to agree 1-2 blown calls (mistake) has to be acepted as 'part of the game' BUT 3-5 in a game is a little much....even in any summer program, we're talking about District HS baseball game. Just mention> missed calls, 'ducks', 'Tx Leagers', bad breaks or whatever and its fair game to pile on. I wasn't at the game but when you hear the same story from several different realiable sources you tend to believe. I always told my kids if you score enough runs a cpl of bad breaks won't hurt. I have no problem with telling anyone how it is without sugarcoating anything
3.
Mr.Ump1,I am happy that baseball has gone to the BBCOR bats.I personally know two pitchers that the decision may have saved their lives. That being said,I think the strike-zone by umpires should shrink on the outside corner. With the pre-BBCOR bats a player could hit the ball off the end of the bat and the ball would still jump. Not so with the BBCOR.Players have to move in on the plate to get the sweet spot on the ball.Pitchers start to come inside more which causes more injuries in the game.It kind of defeats the purpose of BBCOR bats.I umpired about twenty years ago and I know it is hard to change your zone.Curious of your thoughts.P.S. Taking away the outside corner would also recover some of the run production lost by the dead bats.
Your just kidding....right?? As a X pitchers dad I think they should call black to black, its hard enough to get them to call a pitch that cuts the ether edge...BTW a batter has a club in his hands already.....
4.
Just an opinion of course. ;D But all this really does not matter. BC and Silsbee are in of course and the fight is for third. Yes, this did help Orangefields cause but at this point in the season Buna is palying better and has the better chance to take that third spot. HJ has never really been in the race up to this point.
Your correct its your opinion but its like some other things we all have. So from your post I guess all others should lay down, your right HJ hasn't been in it so they should just play their JV the rest of the season. I'll say it again its a shame for >>ANY<< team NOT to have exp Umpires in Dist games, I hope Silsbee gets these same 2 in Bi-Dist...., surely he won't scratch ether of them. One call >could< cost a game or swing the momentum, if you disagree >>you havn't been to many contest...plain n simple
5. Umpires out of position>>>>>what new about that???? 2 reversed and 3 missed? 1 could lose a game OR swing the momentum, but 5 questionable calls is a little much for a dist game, thats too many for a summer youth game IMO...even when asking for help (which some WON"T do) it puts the other ump in a pos he don't want to be as he is clearly OUT OF POSITION to make the call..especially with multiple runners. Umpires out of position is the #1 cause of missed calls....
6. Good job HJ one thing I noticed tonite, Arron E pitched ahead all nite, lots of 1st pitch strikes, stayed ahead in the count, this is something both he and Duplant could not do in the first meeting. I was somewhat worried with them leaving the bases full the first inning but timly hitting the rest of the game was great...
7. The ump just didn't want to end the game by calling a balk, especially in a game like this...he must have been deaf also.. 8)
8. When I'm the cook its Crappie as said AND >>>Trippletail !!! After seeing the Talapia at a Asia market I really wouldn't ever knowingly eat one
9. With this darn wind a protected shore line is rough
What happened? errors, poor calls, etc.. , It sounded like a really good game.
Just looking at the line score, notice E in the same inning Cathage scored, sounded like a good game here too. Just 1 E and a break is all it takes to give up a run. IDK tho
11.

This is outrageous!!!!! Unbelievable how parents are these days. The whole part of the game is finding a way to win and giving yourself an edge. Stealing signs is very similar to scouting a game and writing a list of things the other team does to give yourself a better chance of winning. Stealing signs has been part of the game for a very long time! When I was playing college ball our coaches taught us ways to figure out signs and we would have guys every game assigned to just  breaking signs and trends to give our hitters an advantage. Its not cheating it is part of the game! You see it all the time the guy on second signalling to the hitter what pitch is coming in some form or fashion. Get over it parents! I agree with GCMPats2.....get better at giving signs and this will not be an issue!
Stealing the signes is not the issue, the behavior after the game was.
Agree..surely althought you didn't mentin but it was the team that lost whinning about it
12. Pfffttt,..stealing signs, thats part of the game...BUT you get caught 'peeping' while AB expect a INSIDE pitch in college ball 8)
13. Very well could have been a win for BC without the bad breaks...I guess?.
14. Good job all!!!
15. The other MLB players were Cody Strait-Reds, ?? Richey-Mets, Tim Erickson-Mets, Jeff Moye-Rangers, other college players, Brent Carney-Angelina, Arron Trest-?, Nate Jordan ?, Tommy Roebuck-NE Tex/Lamar and a cpl more I can't think of now. The PONY field HJ plays on today was suposed to used just untill they got the lights for the school field, OR thats what was said in >>>97, the rock is still there as someone spoke of...
Yea......It doesn't look good when you are wearing your capri pants.  :o
No panty lines
17. I'll tell ya what franchise, if you want to make a little wager I think I can come up with the letter of intent if the price is rite. IDK who the best SS or pitcher is tho do you.

Embarrassed....when ya get to be 60 you could care less, I don't remember the last time I have been embarrassed BUT will say its >never< been due to spelling or grammer....ever.
Why are you spending so much time defending your poor spelling?  After all, it could just be poor keyboard skills.  Or, for that matter, it could be the inability to construct a sentence.  There are many reasons!
...So much time?? I got plenty of it when I'm not fishing. The main reason is becuz of JACKWAD KEYBOARD COWBOYS like you who look for things to chastize folks with, spelling and grammer gimme a break...like I said it don't bother me in the least as a matter of fact its kinda of childish and I'm being VERY polite
19. Aggie, I will say its about time, how long of a 'dry spell' was there tho, for yrs n yrs there were only a few other than baseball, Kenyon Spears was the one I was speaking of helping at Lamar after playing college ball, one of those you listed was my coach in HS and I'm 60 so forgive me for not going back as you did. There has also been a few boys go to the next level playing golf. I stand by my statement on baseball having the most by FAR and recieving the least. BTW HJs field does have lights and most probally they are still laying on the ground as they were in 95 96,97,98, the field they play on does but its the PONY field, go look behind the school at the HJs field then report back. Its the same field and probabally in the same shape as when Gene Isabel played at HJ in the 60s...Baseball has for YRS been treated like a redheaded stepchild...
20. Could be, the only one I know of was Justin Simmons football in 99 got a partial to Navy, I can't remember the boys name in basketball (97?) but he was asst coach at Lamar a yr or so, Jason Troup got a JUCO schollarship in 98, you have some names?? I was simply pointing out the sport with the most going to the next level yearly was at the BOTTOM of who gets the $$ I think a dozen would be a stretch tho...unless your speaking of all sports combined, but baseball itself has had a dozen or so going to the next level with 6-7 going into pro-ball. You would have to agree 'several' in the history of the school is somewhat lacking if you look at how much $$ is spent on these 2 sports. Baseball don't even have a field unless you want to call the old, unmaintained, no lites cow pasture a baseball field
21. Embarrassed....when ya get to be 60 you could care less, I don't remember the last time I have been embarrassed BUT will say its >never< been due to spelling or grammer....ever.
22.
Also it probably helps that his step brother Anthony Fazio just pitched for Rice a couple years back so there is a family connection.
I played with Anthony's dad Sam, so it goes a little deeper, Sam was a great player also....
23. No one that I know of AND maybe 1(?) in football and possibly 2 in basketball EVER recieved a offer to play any level of college ball. I do know I pizzed him and the coaches when he played bb only BUT I did it in Jr High, we're going thru the same with my nephew and basketball at HJ. Looking back my son will say it was for the best and it all payed off. Ask what happens to the 'gate fees' on basketball n football, you know they pack the house for basketball
