EXACTLY Brubaker. That CAME from the PNG board, which is a fine place for those kind of things, but to bring it over here, and display it, as if it really means something (which it doesn't) is just trying to bring attention to yourself.....for.......doing nothing at this point.

I deleted the last 2 posts because of name calling, threats, and sexual innuendos. To be a kids spots thread you folks are acting like complete fools. How about grow up and talk about the kids sports like ADULTS, or just stay away. If you guys act like this on HERE, then you're probably the same kind of guys that start fights at kids sporting events. Let's show a bit of maturity from now on, or I'll lock this thread (and others).

I don't really think its envy as much as it is uncertainty. I am still not convinced PNG is as good as some think they are. I mean theyve played three pretty weak opponents thus far and squeaked by two of them. Texas City is not the powerhouse they once were. District is going to be a rude awakening I feel. Good luck to the ndns, but dont let that head swell too much... My point exactly. I, for one, would rather just quietly take care of our own business and not rant about being 3-0, or whatever. I'm excited about the direction of our program, but have no huge expectations for this season. As long as we compete, and play our best, then that's all one could ask of a 1st yr. coach/program. Anything above that is just lagniappe'.

Jackhammer, To start the 2nd half, we received the kick-off and got in the hole. TC won the field position battle for several rounds, but our D held, even w/ their backs against the wall, several times. However, the D was on the field a really long time, and looked to be getting tired. To top it off, our O was dropping passes, and the center/QB exchange was dropeed several times, putting us further in the hole. I don't know why we stopped passing the 2nd half, but we did, and that enabled them to key on Harmon. The refs sucked too...did I mention that already??? This advanced them on SEVERAL occaisions. Ya gotta hand it to TC tho. They really showed more heart in the 2nd half too. It was agreat game to watch tho.

Any time you can hold a team like that to ZERO first downs in the 1st half, you're playing some really good D. Too bad we couldn't beat the refs too in the 2nd. They were some really awful refs. And before some of you PNG haters get on here and say we're making excuses, just watch the game on the net tomorrow, at the very end of the 4th Q, and watch the push-off for the TD catch. THEN come in here and argue the point with me. Overall, it was a really fun game to watch, and I'm happy that the game wasn't ultimately decided by the stripes. Great game Indians!

BACK ON TOPIC NOW...... But ya know, playing a weak preseason schedule MAY NOT be all that bad. I remember thinking the same thing in 99' when PNG played the SAME Kelly High school, and barely won, but went on to have a great season. And the rest of their pre-season was not that strong either. Who knows, maybe those big wins give the players/coaches more confidence each week, and they step up, because of it. But, as far as the 11 men on each side theory goes, do you think UT would gain ANY respect if the scheduled Lamar for 2010? Not a chance. In fact, it could possibly hurt their BCS standings because of the sheer ridiculous-ness (is that a word?) of the game. So, man-up VHS, put in ear plugs, play the best you can play, and let the cards fall where they may.............and enjoy the ride
