No doubt the kids good, but, if one was to videotape an entire season of any one person, surely it wouldn't be too difficult to assemble a 2 min. video of highlights. Just about EVERY player will have 10 good plays through a season. Just a thought...(I don't get them too often either)

That WAS a really good rivalry. In that series, you could never be totally sure who would win till the last click.

I was at that game too....I was hoping noone would mention it...Aldine was awesome.

O.K., let's get it right... His name is Kyle Aguillard. He didn't "shove a Ned player to the ground to get open". The Ned player was well on his feet on that play. The controversy came when Kyle, real tall...6'20" (seems like it anyway) jumped high in the end zone for a pass with the Ned defender behind him. The TD won the game for PNG, but Ned fans argued that Kyle interfered with the defender as he was stretching up and back to catch the ball (his back against the defenders chest). It was actually a designed play, meant to utilize Kyles height and verticle leaping abilities. They had worked on in practice many times and it worked to perfection that night. I was wondering when THAT one was going to rear it's ugly head.

The worst for PNG in recent history would have to be the 1st round of the play-offs in like 03', against eventual State Champs Kilgore. Somethng like 48-0, but it coulda been worse. The 1st 5 plays netted 4 TD's. There was just no stopping them...as the rest of the state later found out. To make matters worse, the game didn't start till like 10:30 because of thunderstorms, so the fans were soaked for HOURS before the game ever started.

And, what about the "no call" when Central played at PNG around 02'. That particular year PNG's O Line was BIG and BAD. At the end of a play, as our tight end had just demolished Central's DE (yet again), after the play was whistled dead, the DE, as he was getting up from the ground (again) and while he was still on his knees, rared back and K.O.'d PNG's TE's nads...RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OFFICIAL! The entire home side saw it and the bench almost cleared, but ol' Stevie Wonder never did a thing about it. That player should have been ejected on the spot.

They could improve TONS from last year and still be out of the league.

What makes you guys think that PNG fans differ than ANY other H.S. fans? EVERYONE loves it when their team's winning and a LARGE majority leaves when a loss is innevitable. PNG's no different. True, we bring a bigger than average crowd, but mixed in that crowd are going to be the usual old timers that have had their seats since 1964...and haven't cheered since then either. And, as usual, when a team's in the middle of a banner year, the "true" fans come out of the woodwork, beating their chests and braging about how good "their" team is. Don't put PNG under a different microscope than you're willing to examine your own team with. All High schools struggle with the same issues.

Hey 643, I'd be interested in knowing what else you find out. Strange, but a month ago I saw a shrimper offsjore just dragging their nets, like they do to clean it after dragging. I wasn't aware of the season being closed, or I would have moved in closer to investigate. BTW, are you on 2cool?

Change the pass interference rule back the way it was. Previously, if you were interfered with, you got the ball on that spot PLUS the penalty. Now, you only get a penalty, which is so wrong, because it opens up the door for a receiver to be interfered with, and possibly hurt. Look at it this way, would you rather have the offense get a 15 yd. penalty against you, or a 60 yard bomb? No Contest. They should have never touched that rule.

Did anyone see one today (Sat.)? My daughter call us while we were in Houston and said that she saw one in the direction of our house in Groves (she was at PA Academy). Did anyone see anything?
