  1. I can take rough seas just fine, but when anchored, if the current turns the boat so that you get that sideways pitch....MAN.....break out the Ginger Snaps!
  2. Kingfish are a menace to me. They're fun the 1st time or 2 that you catch one, but, since I don't eat them, they're just bait stealers to me.
  3. After posting the question, I went to the schedules and it said Monday. Did I read it wrong?.....Oh never mind, I figured it out. Bear with me folks...I went to PNG
  4. Just got back from Rayburn....where it turned so cold IT SNOWED for a short time Sat eve. So, naturally, the fish got lock-jaw. The 1st time I've been to my camp in 5 yrs and we have record setting cold temps, rain, sleet and snow. (Thanks alot Coop) [just kidding of course] Oh well, it could be worse. I coulda been offshore. BTW, we had 5 bass and 1 crappie in 2 days. Not too good for this time of the yr.
  5. My son just got certified in from Diver's Den in Nederland, on Twin City Hwy.
  6. Man, what a rally! C'MON INJUNS!!!!!!
  7. Wow, looks like the Indains are taking them to the woodshed!
  8. I hope Rayburn is, cuz that's where I'm headed! Spindletop has been fair...will turn on shortly.
  9. I have a friend that runs a great charter on a 28' aluminum cat hull. PM me and I'll give you his name/number. I almost when to captain school myself last yr. Decided that I didn't want to take the fun out of it. How big is your boat?
  10. I'm still tweaking my rig. I changed the washdown pump, and need to change the HPU on the trim tabs. Replace some zippers on the side curtains and clean her up. This time of year I like to bass fish, but when the wind lays, it sure is hard to stay inshore.
  11. Thanx...keep em coming!
  12. Any news on Rayburn, specifically South, like Mill creek area? I'm headed there on Easter. With my luck, the big bite will be over. Oh well, at least the white perch might still be hungry.
  13. Ya know, if I woulda been in that shot, there woulda been PLENTY of cheerleaders around! hahaha
  14. Have been hearing good things about Toledo, but since I don't have the time to run up there, I've made a couple of trips to Spindletop. The slot is 14"-16" on bass and in 1 complete day ( 2 1/2 days) we caught 22 bass (10 slot fish) up to 3 1/2 #'s, and 16 bull bream , up to 11 1/2" long! That's the 2nd time I've caught bream that big. Talk about a fight on ultra-light tackle. The bass fishing still hasn't fully turned on though. I can't wait til it does!
  15. Congrtats NDN's! ;D
  16. Made it out to Spindletop 2 weeks ago, but the water temp was still 58. It should be better by now, but I can't make it back until next Sat. We did manage to catch 5, all slot fish, which is really rare.
  17. I run 3 Suzukis (250, 40 $ 15) and all 3 are wonderful. Until I start having major probs with them, that's what I'll always run.
  18. Mariner is nothing more than a Mercury motor. For some reason unknown to most people, Mercury (Brunswick) introduced the Mariner a while back. I guess they felt like it was working for OMC (Evinrude & Johnson) so they'd throw another motor in the mix. Mariner didn't stay around but 6-10 yrs. though. This must be a motor with quite a few yrs on it, since Mariner hasn't been produced for some time. Be sure the compression checks out o.k. Everything else can be worked around, as long as you can get it at a decent price.
  19. Oh get used to it. Some of those Vidorians are going to spout off about winning district year after year, yet remain near the cellar when the dust settles. Kinda funny after a while (although sad too). At least they think that they have something to look forward to. :
  20. What I've never understood is how in BMT you can appearently pick which H.S. you attend? Don't they have school zones or anything of that nature?? Maybe I'm understanding it all wrong.
  21. yep...miniature When you picture a doghouse, say in your back yard, and all of a sudden a bunch of people started running out of it (and they don't even have to duck), of course they would have to little bitty, or, miniature.
  22. Hey Dustin!!!! Ya payin' attention???? ???
  23. yep,...not much to them. But, it's something to do while you're waiting for the REAL fishin' to get good. Personally, I'm chomping at the bit to get out to Spindletop. It's shallow, dark water so it should warm up quick.
