I used to catch whiting on the old Gulfhaven pier in the Winter time.

We're pretty religious about getting them in the water quick. And we move them around too, until they take off on their own, but sometimes the big ones just fight too long. I'd rather just stop catching them when it's real hot outside.

I LOVE catching them too, but as you can see, redfish are bad about stressing out if you fight them too long, and they'll die on ya. I hate it when that happens, so after catching a few, I'll just leave to keep from killing more. They are really hard to revive sometimes.

Yep, almost as scary as miniature people darting out of a blow-up doggie house. ;D

And you refer to this setup like it's an odity? Doesn't MANY of the run-throughs have like a Jaguar head with it's mouth open? or a Dog? There's quite a difference between a head dress and an actual mouth anyway.

I don't care to keep those big reds anyway. They're too tough, unless maybe grilled, which I never grill redfish. I happy w/ Catch and release.

Don't crawl up my rectum about it, I'm not being judgemental, just explaining why some posts have to be deleted when referring to kids and drug use. From what I've read and heard, Toledo is supposed to be really awesome this year due to the vegitation that was able to grow during the low water levels. The people in the know are really excited about the upcoming bass season.

Yep, done that too! Actuall, I still go when it's flat calm. I put my boat in the very middle of the rig and catch trout from UNDER the rig.....in the shade too!

As a neutral, I'd have to say that ...making fun of a town and implying illegal drug use by a high school athelete are 2 TOTALLY different things. Nah, not when you split it up between 4-5 guys. Bait, gas & ice usually run us about $50 a trip. Pretty cheap for an offshore trip really.

I don't keep them either. HOWEVER, I'm told that the best way is to cut them into balls (roll the meat out), then season and fry like reg. fish. I like Spanish Mac. o.k., but never cared too much for Kings. LOVE to catch them tho.

No tvc, I've never really fly fished. Just played around with it as s kid.\ I know, I know, ya can't judge it till ya've done it. But it's gotta be at least interesting before ya go after it. I'll stick to my regular rods for now.

Ya know tvc, I've whatched those guys fish for bones and permits on those flats w/ fly rods plenty of times. And although I love every kind of fishing from bass to perch to offshore, that particular fishing does absolutely nothing for me. It just doesn't look like any fun at all for some reason. I guess it takes all kinds. Just give me my bass rod and we'll ALL be happy!

Very similar to the typical Kelly Wiggler type shrimp tail, but it has legs on the side. They're heavy enought to throw too. Actually, my all-time favorite is Culprits Shrimp Tidbit...but they don't make em any more. >
