Evidently in a game against BC, #3 suckerpunched an opposing player in the back of the head.

I'm with you on the mpg issue with vehicles. I feel oil/gas/auto industry in bed together on this issue.

I agree there is some, but I think most hate the incident that happened. I was rooting for y'all last year when we were there. I will be rooting for y'all again this year.

Not at all. There were some that were questioning if the Silsbee player had ever done anything like this. They were hollering about proof, until you confirmed it was true. Just trying to make that point. Not denying they threw punches.

Does the UIL know about the other incidents that took place? Maybe this is why the administration came down with a stiff punishment.

There is the root of the issue

If the administration goes back and lessens the punishment, as some suggest may happen, what does this tell the kid? If I am the star athlete, I can get by with a slap on the wrist for my actions, no matter how detrimental it may be to my teammates and school.

Seems like the Silsbee coach has video proof of another incident involving this player. If this is true, then the coach and the players parents are just as much at fault for his behavior.

It does not justify a total cheap shot. I know LCM started the fight, but what he did is uncalled for. Keep trying to spin it until you make it the fault of the LCM player that was sucker punched. Again, according to what I have seen on other threads, this was not the first time he took a cheap shot at an opponent.

The question is about the punishment being to harsh. Being at the game is not relevant to that question. The video says a whole lot.

I don't feel that it was. From what I have read, and strictly going off of that, there seems to be some sort of pattern with this type of behavior. There is no place for fighting in sport, and absolutely no justification for what he did. Maybe the coach should have dealt with the other incidences I read about a little more firmly. Again, if the other acts took place, absolutely justifiable punishment.
