1. Isn't Baseball USA on Beltway 8? Funny, I thought I may have seen a few cars there. DV, it takes a sense of humor to understand humor. I didn't expect you to getting anyway......about giving a flip. Once again, if you are good at something, then you give a flip.
2. If you are good at something, you give a flip. If you are not, then you are from Houston.
3. Tigervoice, you are missing my intentions with my post. Bullets will figure it out.  ;D
4.
say what you want, this is good for golf.  the ratings go through the roof when Tiger's in contention, and are almost non-existent for non-major tourneys that he doesn't play in.  with some of the young guns that are coming up, if Tiger can get back to anywhere near as good as he used to be, the next 4 or 5 years might be the best years in the history of the PGA.
So let me get this straight. It's ok to play sub par in your sport as long as you are good for your sport.....put butts in the seat, sell more tickets and merchandise, and get more tv viewers. Hmmmmmm, interesting concept.
5. Funny how people don't withdraw when they are winning.
6. I've never figured out why they have use an eight foot ladder for the players to cut down the net.
7. Just one of many reasons I don't read the Beaumont Surprise.
8. If someone that I respect told me that, I would be insulted. Otherwise, it is laughable. Why should I care why a game is won as long as I win? Does is mean athletic teams are stupid.....just athletic? Does this mean intellectual teams wear clod hoppers and have two left feet. Is there a mixture where one can't be differentiated from the other, or can one play be smart and the next be athletic? Please explain oh great guru who hangs with nobodys. Birds of a feather.....
9. Ha ha, thanks for not attacking. Must have hit a nerve huh? Just like you don't want this to be about you, how does Ned winning state figure into this thread? Leave my school alone and I will leave you alone. Pretty simple really. Even you should see that. EVERYONE playing basketball is athletic
10. So is your HC trophy. Our case is bare of state trophies, but we have some DC trophies, which is where everyone starts. Bird made everyone around him better, just like Perkins made you look like a better coach than you are. Lehigh did not outsmart or out athlete anyone. They played the game of basketball better. Funny how you dodged the athletic part of my post. Everyone in basketball/sports is an athlete. You should go to the comedy central forum. You'd be a smash hit. All in good fun DV.
11. Why?, you never prove anything. Everything you say is all about you. You just rely on telling everyone that you know it all......NOT!!! Jerry West was "known" as "Mr. Clutch!!!" I never said anything about Jordan being better or worse, that was your interpretation. I said I would have no problem going to Bird for the game winner should he be on the same team with Jordan or West. Jordan may indeed be the best ever, but he won zero rings until Scottie Pippen came into his own. Lehigh outplayed Duke. Everyone on the floor is an athlete. If not, then basketball is not the sport to be involved with.
12. Typical Mid-County game. Don't leave until it's over. Good win PNG. Ned will be OK.
13.

So the 'experts' had Duke as a number 2 seed, yet they lose to a 15 seed. So all of the 'Basketball Gurus' who know as much as one can know about basketball were wrong?? ??? Being a common man, how does this happen? Additionally, Missouri was predicted by MANY to make it to the Final Four (by the experts). Yet, these 'Gurus' got it wrong! With as much 'expertise' will someone please explain how they got it wrong? ???
Dove is right....it happens, but not to worry....Nederland will NEVER win or go to state...So don't look at this as hope! ;D
Neither will you as a HC.  ;D It also happens that you are wrong on this one. Put any one player you can think of on a team with Larry Bird and I promise I would not have any problem going to Bird for the game winning clutch shot. The only one better would be Jerry West...."Mr. Clutch"
14. Lehigh flat outplayed Duke. Their defense was tenacious. Duke had no answer for McCollum.
15. If we haven't told you why, then you have comprehension problems. Funny that it's the minorities who vote against Bird. Isn't that racism? You bet it is. You're a lost cause.
16. Bird also led the NBA in FT% several times. Late in the game with a lead, get the ball to Bird and the other team has to foul.......too bad!!!!! Bird was automatic.....91% lifetime FT. Wow, he could take the last second shot under pressure or make the pressure FTs to save the lead......or steal the inbounds pass and pass it to DJ for a layup for the last second win. What a player. I sure do miss him and so do the Celtics.
17.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird saved the NBA. Neither can claim to be the better player. Wins and losses does not always reflect the play of these two. The Laker and Celtic championships of the 80s were the absolute best ever. I mean when you have Bob McAdoo or Kevin McHale coming off the bench......McAdoo good for 20 points, and McHale getting sixth man of the year, it doesn't get better than that. I would say that Magic was more athletic and Bird had more basketball savvy. Both made game winning shots throughout their careers. However, if the game was on the line, I would get the ball to Bird. Just know what I saw.
Welcome to the ranks of the "uninformed" ( and in the case of shooting, it was no contest)
No contest for sure. Bird was king of the 3 point shooting contests. Bird was the clutch shooter for the Celtics......Jabbar's "Sky Hook" was the go-to for the Lakers.

They lost because Kimball played better ball. Live with that. Yates is a great program now. They aren't better than Marcus, Travis, Kimball, an maybe Alamo Heights. Move on man!
Didn't I say that? Can't read either, huh? ::)
Maybe Yates ain't all that. What a great post from a losers perspective......DV. One possession or not, most basketball games come down to that. At least act like you do know that. I thought Yates was supposed to beat everyone by 40. Your only comeback will be to dis my team instead of admitting you were wrong.
Losers perspective?...what? ..I DON'T CARE THAT YATES LOST...I was talking about the game in general, which I thought was fantastic...don't worry...Your team will NEVER know what state feels like, so do not concern yourself with it.. ;)
Coming up with every excuse under the sun, and you don't care that they lost? BWaaaaaHaaaa. What a joke. Another loser's comment, and I told you that you would dis my team. DV was wrong!!! Yates is not Gods.....BWaaaaaHaaaaa. Guess they need to recruit from the Dallas area.

21. Locally.... Seafood: Floyd's Steak: Texas Roadhouse (grilled shrimp is killer too) Mexican: Cafe del Rio, Beaumont (great margaritas) If you are willing to travel about 60 miles one way for seafood, Steamboat Bill's in Lake Charles is the absolute best I have had. Try the crawfish pistolettes.......mmmmmmm good.
22. Fans defending their town and team? I've never heard of such a thing. Like I already mentioned long ago, I guess it depends on who is being defensive.
23. There goes the neighborhood. I predicted nothing. I simply watched others eat their words. I have noticed that anytime something does not happen for certain teams, then it was of no importance. But had it happened for same team, then it would be wonderful. Funny how that happens. Care for some baseball DV? We are good in every major sport.
24. That's the same thing people predicted the last two seasons.  :o
25. That's basketball for ya.
