1. Yep, just what I thought.
 2.
I don't post on this site, but I do read discussions quite often on here. I have read multiple threads where dicky v has hammered his opinions upon people and those who disagree he accuses them of not allowing him to have an opinion. Why dont you look in the mirror, you are the one who can not accept others opinions. You have stated your opinion to the point where I'm sure everyone on this board knows where you stand. Why can't that be enough? Instead you come on here and make one of the most ignorant threads I have ever seen on this board mocking and making fun of Nederland posters who don't agree with you and claiming they say stuff which has not been said or even hinted (I.e. "Nederland is going to win state"). On top of that I have seen you call out KIDS, who we all know read this board, by name and call them "jv at best." I don't care how much you boast about being a coach and how basketball savvy you are. Honestly, I doubt anyone on here does. Your right, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but just because they differ from yours doesn't mean they are inhabiting your right to your opinion. You are the one inhabiting others from theirs. Everyone knows your opinion, this thread was completely unnecessary and is a disgrace to this forum
That's hitting the nail on the head. Grad, correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to remember a thread where someone said that WOS football, winning in 4A but not winning it all in 3A, was umpteen pages long with lots of WOS fans defending their team's honor. Guess it depends on whose honor one is stepping as to whether the proverbial nail has been struck. I bet even this statement gets a rise.
No, the funny thing is that I am not upset in the least...and your lack of a better response further indicates that you have nothing better to say...Funny...isn't it? Now...If we can get off of me and back on topic, that would be a good thing... ;)
Funny, I thought my response was appropriate. Some people can say more with less. My statement was decent enough to provoke a response from you. Funny.....
 4. Funny how people who tend to single themselves out get upset when other people single them out.
 5. A coach with a state champ ring living on a message board messing with the fans, sitting on his pedestal, tooting his own horn because no one else will. Isn't there a coach's board you could frequent, or does a board of your peers take you down a notch?
 6. Whether best district in the state or the worst, when being judged by teams in the same district, being tied for first place, and being referred as not good, I call foul.
 7. We're #1, but we're not very good.....according to some people. Too many wishy-washy statements made around here. Ned. won district last year and tied for first this year.....B-U-T........ ::)
 8. Nederland played the game right. Ozen just hit their shots and Nederland missed theirs. That's how a team loses the game. ......missing shots. Ozen was the better team last night. Congrats. You won't hear me cry about our coaching or the refs. Sometimes you simply get beat. I can admit that.
 9. Go Duke!
 10. I guess Dickie was too busy with Ozen beating Ned., he forgot about planning for Livingston. Great coaching
 11.

Dickie- I want to give you an alternate point of view.  In spite of your basketball pedigree, you only know basketball from the top down as opposed to the bottom up.  By that I am talking about where you played, where you were coached and people you were associated with.  It is well established about Mr. Bouttes success but, Kountze, Lincoln and Ozen?  You have got to agree that if you walk into those places you have a head start already.  I know Ozen was a new school but the gene pool was very predisposed to basketball and it was a magnet school. Also, it is often as easier job to take a new school up from Zero than an established school from -50.  You and Mr. Boutte have no record of turning a very failed program or basketball culture on its ear.  So I would suggest to you that if you take the job at Bridge City next year and within a few years have a 29 game district winning streak, I will consider that a MAMMOTH accomplishment.  Mr. Boutte has NEVER entered a situation where there was ZERO talent, ZERO basketball culture, Zero basketball interest and turned it around by developing it hiimself with no administrative support and with no assistants who were dedicated to basketball.  No disrespect to Mr. Boutte but it is simply an experience he has never had and that is not intended to say he is any less for having been in good situations the bulk of his career.  You and I have had this discussion in private and you know that I was very close to a situation similar to what I am talking about.  So, in this case, I can personally testify as to what a big task it is.  Therefore, I think, if you take ALL conditions into consideration, that 29 game streak is a very huge deal.
Very well stated!!! Great post Nash.
Agree. Good post.
 12.
PA Lincoln went undefeated in district play from 1985-2002... ::)    ::).......You think they were jumping up and down after 29 district wins on a row?  ::)
Who gives a crap if they were jumping up and down? You can't even get it right anyway. I assume you are jumping up and down from this one victory. Like I said, I compare to our past records. Who gives a crap about 30 year old games? I am constantly reminded of not living in the past.
 13. I'm very pleased with 29. I don't have to compare to other teams. I compare it to our past records and it is simply phenomenal.
 14. Unless there is a blowout, all games are won at the free throw line, or whoever has the ball last and the coach dials up the right play. You suit up whoever you suit up. The other team still has to play the game regardless of who is on the floor. Play Yates with an undermanned squad and see how sorry they feel for you. Yep Dove.....29 straight and they were all flukes.
 15. What were you last time.......for fake?  ;D Of course, there is no way that we have improved.
 16. Is there an Ozen/Central thread? I need to post something about Nederland.  ;D Good luck Friday Soulja.
 17. Some of these same predictions were made last year.  :o
 18. Wrong again. Respect is earned, not commanded. You give yourself way too much credit. I will listen to anyone who makes sense. But when they start tooting their own horn, I tend to enjoy popping the proverbial bubble. I have even agreed with you before and spent the rest of the day watching out for lightning bolts.

That was one heckuva dunk! Couldn't be stopped even with the foul!
Jibberish? That was plain English..You know? Like BRIAN ENGLISH?  ;D ;D...I really crack myself up! Stop being so sensitive, bigdog! I support Coach E, and Big Ned...I pay taxes in Nederland! 8)
You're a legend in your own mind.  ::) Who's being sensitive. That was simply a declarative statement. .......and it's baddog.
 20. .....translated from the jibberish to mean we are mentioned in every other post. That was one heckuva dunk! Couldn't be stopped even with the foul!
 21.

If one player is able to run faster and jump higher than his opponent, should we assume that he is the superior basketball player?  What if the slow, flat footed player has better shooting skills, understands better where he needs to be defensively, and, rather than being able to make the triple reverse layup, is able to find the open man on a regular basis and better understands shot selection?  Who is the better basketball player?
Well,  I see how you were back in your days. ;D
Back in my days is no different than nowadays.  Am strictly a wannabe but am able to admit it. But Dove, maybe you can answer the question I am about to pose.  In the following comparisons, tell me if the better athlete/alleged superior talent is also the better basketball player 1.  Kevin Love vs JaVale McGee 2.  Dirk Nowitzky vs Lamar Odom 3.  Larry Bird vs Dominique Wilkins 4.  Sam Perkins vs Kevin McHale 5.  John Stockton vs Nate Archibald 6.  Tim Duncan vs James Worthy
Unless its Isaiah Thomas, I really don't care. He was smart, quick, athletic, a scorer, a passer, and those are the players I liked to watch.
My favorite Isiah Thomas pass was at the end of game 5 in the '87 conference championships. Great pass to Larry Bird, who fired it to DJ for the game winning basket. Classic Bird! Love watching that replay! [Hidden Content]
Yep, I can see why Dove hates him. Bird ranks up there with Jordan and Magic. Whether Magic and Jordan had more championships than Bird, you can't leave Bird out. I sure won't.......ever.
 22. Gee, and Dean Smith would have gone to the four corners with a two point lead and five minutes left. Imagine a fifty point lead at half what would he have done.
 23. I couldn't care less if English does not quite have the credentials as Boutte. That fact that any coach who does not think English is great and can give him credit must have been a clip board toter. English is trying to win district, make the playoffs and see if we can take off, just like any other team hopes happens for them. How close did you "sniff" a championship as a HC? That's what I thought.
 24. Do we have to go through all of this again?
Awww thats cold! ;D....Just Memorial huh?...cold...I noticed it yesterday, and was just wondering, because when it was LINCOLN.... ::) ::) ::)...You know the rest, I assume...If they are circulating more in Nederland and Port Neches, maybe they should call it the MID COUNTY NEWS.....I live in Nederland, but I was just wondering... 8)
The Beaumont surprise snubs us. What's a guy to do? Mid County News is fine with me and it would be successful.
