Central already shopping for coaches? The only thing a coach can do is get players open shots, teach them to box out and rebound and to play defense. They also make the game plans and prepare their players. Coaches make in-game decisions too, but they can't make the shots fall. Didn't see the game but the % stats show me that Central shot poorly while Ned shot 58% even with offensive rebounds, which lowers the percentages. Tell me if I am wrong.

You do. It's called being well-rounded. If you won the baseball title and were a contender every year, you would give a hoot. Right now you don't because it's a moot point.

Texas stadium served as home field for two Dallas area high schools in 1979.....Plano and Highland Park. I'm sure PNG traveled well as usual, but the majority of that crowd didn't have to travel much at all. Texas stadium was an engineering failure, but so was the leaning tower of Pisa.

If you beat the teams who beat out the "quality" teams, how does that make it easier?

We could have every player from every team make all-district and we would still squabble over which team they should have made. None of the picks were politically motivated. They were picked for who they thought was best. Maybe no one should make all-district. If a player's name is even mentioned among the great players we had in 20-4A this year, they should be proud indeed. What a great district we have!

I thought the entire team played great last night. I would like to single out Troy Benjamin and say how tough a runner he truly is. Those Dawson players were twice his size and he was still lowering his head and plowing through them. I was very impressed. He has been running like that all season. Thanks Troy.

If it is allowed, then it is coached.....it's what they are taught, or not taught depending on how you view it.

I never laid blame on anyone. Both teams are at fault. There's a little pushing and shoving on practically every play, but to throw punches and hit with helmets is nothing more than a gang fight. It is no longer a football game.

Nederland has some great athletes, so I don't think we were out athleted (is that a word?). Pearland certainly had a size advantage, but our guys pressured them and opened holes all night. We played well enough to win, but Pearland played better. Great season Bulldogs. I will proudly wear my district champ shirt everywhere. I will be there next season barking and hollering. Thanks for playing such great football.
