  1. Any kin to Kerry Franks? I'll guess "lil" brother.
  2. This is good stuff. I like being counted out. It gives me a whole new perspective. We'll just play our game and let the chips fall.
  3. I'd just like to say that Micah Mosley is having an all-district year. He has been player of the week several times, and deservedly so, but i just want to give some kudos to Alex Mosier. He's had to play in the shadow of Mosley, so to speak, but has been very consistent at running this offense. In last night's game, he was hitting the long passes and doing everything right. His stats could have been better, save a couple drops, but he was cool in the pocket, even got a 1st down on a QB draw. Congrats to Alex for being a great field general.
  4. We take no one lightly. Kids missing because of injury or grades, not a factor. Take it to them and play our game....Only way to win consistently.
  5. Well, there are so many Vidor fans on here, I can't remember who I told I would be the first to congratulate them if they shut Mosley down. The yardage he claimed it took to consider Mosley "shut down" was under 120 yards and that wasn't accomplished. However, Vidor fought us tooth and nail and showed lots of resolve to be able to come back from 10 points down with about 2:00 to go. Very excellent clock management and play calling. The onside kick, which everyone knew was coming, was the heartbreaker. When Vidor recovered that ball, I knew we were not going to win this one. My thoughts changed quickly after our long reception down to the 1 with 4 ticks left. However, if we can't make 1 yard, we don't deserve the win. Congrats to the Vidor players, coaches, band (thank God for a band who can play more than one note), and cheering section. Y'all made this a game to remember, even though we came up on the losing end.
  6. "Brian's Song"....true story about Brian Piccollo and Gale Sayers
  7. I don't think it is a move to increase his yardage output, though that is a distinct possibility, but more of a move to make sure he has good wind and is energetic in the 4th quarter of the district games coming up. Some of these games will be close and Mosley will be needed 'till the end. When defensive linemen are panting away, Mosley's job will be made easier....at least that's what I read.
  8. That's what I like to hear. No smack, just a vote of confidence for your team. I like coming to Vidor. At least you have enough seating for the Nederland fans. If you can shut Mosley down, as you put it, I will be the first to congratulate you.
  9. He might have that much (120 yards) in the first quarter if our o-line keeps blocking as well as they have. I'd like to see us throw on 1st down a few times just to loosen up the defense. But then again, when you play power run the ball, Mosley will loosen up the defense by himself.
  10. What is considered "shutting him down"? Nederland by 3 TDs.
  11. I'd like to see Lumberton win this one, but I have to go with Dayton. It may be a close game or a reality check for Lumberton. Off Topic: Anyone who puts any stock in the score of a scrimmage is a fool. It's just a practice but the guys you are hitting are not your own. Plus, it is controlled which makes all the difference.
  12. I haven't read the entire thread, so forgive me if this has been said already... LCM, please get some bigger visitor's stands. We bring the fans anyway and buy the concessions, the least you could do is make us more comfortable than sardines. It's also difficult to stand up for 3 hours. Thanks.
  13. Playing Vidor is like playing at home....with all the black and gold everywhere. I think Nederland takes this one by 3 TDs.
  14. I remember that Texas City game. Brad had an injured shoulder and TC came after it. Best QB I have seen is Dustin Hood.
  15. I believe Ross LaBove was on track to out-stat Sumrall also, but was pulled out of some blowout games, such as the 63-0 victory over Bridge City. The best was Sumrall, but I like Joe Ramoin and Micah Mosley, they mirror each other.
  16. I have to go with who I was able to watch. Dustin Hood was as accurate a passer as I have seen. He was a good kid, kept his grades up, and performed week after week at a top level. He was my favorite. After Hood, I have to go with Beasley, who was just plain amazing, and Dustin Long, who should probably be in the NFL, but that's the breaks.
  17. Lame, very lame. Are you the comic relief? You obviously have not read the entire thread to make such a thoughtless statement.
