  1. Typical 85 post. Always insert the "ifs" for the MC opponent. How about some "ifs" for Nederland. "If" Nederland hadn't thrown that INT. "If" Nederland hadn't fumbled that ball. "If' Nederland had stayed with the ground game (especially in the red zone) that was churning up some major yards against a supposed "solid" defense like Central? I will not call Central's defense "soft' against the run out of respect, but I believe Nederland can effectively run the ball if they will just not abandon it. I haven't seen Livingston play. I hear they are faster and bigger than Nederland. Wow, I bet that's the first time that has happened. Maybe 5 minutes of viewing can convince me otherwise.....not! Nederland 24 Livingston 17
  2. Thanks for the input.....I also said without being ridiculous.....and gas price dropped 13 cents just this morning at Raceway. Don't ever throw in the towel. It's just not like PNG.
  3. I'm not good at calculating all the scenarios in my head, but what if PNG wins out? Is there a chance for them, without being ridiculous? I am the type of person who refuses to say all is lost until I am mathematically eliminated.
  4. .....tackling and containment....plus, don't panic when we are down a score....stay with what got us there.....Wareall Grogan.
  5. I was at the game. We should have kept feeding Grogan the ball. Kirby wasn't having one of his accurate throwing nights, and threw a couple picks. Plus we had a fumble. Defense looked great attimes, but 3rd down killed us all night. Last I saw was 20-10 with less than 5 minutes to play.
  6. Actually, a wet field favors the offense. The offense knows where they are going, it's the defense who has to react, plant, and cut, so maybe they are hosing for the wrong reasons. Ned 31 Central 17
  7. Well, I have to agree with dawgnut and ask why you skipped last year? Good one baddog.
  8. Good job Soulja, but Central's QB this year is not even close to Williams. I think you will have to relive that video moment after this year's contest too.
  9. Maybe not just yet, but there will come a time this season when some of your teams will be pulling for the Dogs to win in order to aid your playoff chances. I think this will be a good game. Our defense can slow the run and keep them in between the 20s. That's all I ask. Let's see if Central can throw the ball. Nederland 31 Central 17
  10. This game was over early in the first quarter. Sorry LCM, just the facts. As for the lopsided score, these kids work their butts off all week long and they have to go out there and execute. We were subbing in the second quarter, and if the subs can score, then it's just not the opponent's night. You can't teach these kids how to block and tackle all week and expect to pull the reins after 28 or 35 points, especially on kids who are finally getting their chance to take the field. Some teams can come back from that. I think Bellows threw a TD pass to each receiver, did he not? Plus Grogan had a couple.
  11. Maybe if you showed Livingston a laminated, wallet-sized copy of this and your all-time record against Livingston, then Livingston would graciously concede the game and apologize for not remembering just who they were up against. It's all we heard after our victory. Attendance for these 10 games are among the highest on record in state history: Attendance Game Site Year 49,953 Plano vs. Port Neches-Groves Texas Stadium 1977* 46,339 Southlake Carroll vs. Euless Trinity Texas Stadium 2006 45,790 Highland Park vs. Waco Cotton Bowl 1945* 45,000 Houston Washington vs. Galveston Rice Stadium 1968 45,000 Dallas Adams vs. Richardson Cotton Bowl 1967 39,102 Garland vs. Katy Astrodome 1999* 39,102 Stephenville vs. Port Neches-Groves Astrodome 1999* 38,570 Port Neches-Groves vs. Houston Kashmere Astrodome 1977 38,374 Plano vs. Highland Park Texas Stadium 1980 38,000 Odessa vs. San Antonio Jefferson Memorial Stadium (Austin) 1946 36,000 Fort Bend Willowridge vs. Houston Yates Rice Stadium 1988
  12. Since when do you question our coaches? They have already been subbing and still scoring, thank you. You need to worry about Livingston.
  13. It's been 31 years since PN&G has won a State Championship! Crush that! And the last time for Nederland?? Do posts like this erase the fact that Nederland overwhelmingly won MCM this year?
  14. It's been 31 years since PN&G has won a State Championship! Crush that! That's a lot better than a half century! Wow, you still lost this game.
  15. The main thing that kills me about the PNG fans and this game, is the ones who say that if PNG had stuck with the running game, and the refs hadn't shafted them, they graciously add 14 points to their score. Not enough to win, but 14 points anyway. Well, the deal is, why can't we give ourselves a couple wide open overthrows? There's 14 points easy. This game was close only when it was 10-7. The Bulldogs pulled away and never looked back and never gave up. I really don't care about your past history or our 63-0 loss to Dayton. You are just trying to take the sting out of this loss with posts like that.
  16. Funny, the PNG fans I know and work with come up and shake my hand when we win and say they'll get us next year....very mature and a great group of people. Pulling up your playoff appearances and state titles shows very little class. It's what I expect from adolescents.
  17. Children....Prince wears what he wants. I've coughed up gold (never black, that could be serious) and I've thrown up purple (after some Mad Dog if you know what I mean). So let's not attack each other's colors. Really...
  18. It doesn't have to be a block in the back for the block to carry the defender into the punt returner.
  19. If Ned jumps to an early big lead, Neumann will pull his starters. We take no one lightly. When you do, that's when you get upset and/or have it handed to you.
  20. When PNG and Ned play, there are personal fouls. On the so-called fair catch, there was a flag, then a discussion and the flag was waived off. I thought he was blocked into the guy. It's difficult to see every play.
  21. Actually, it went to 4th down and PNG punted. They never ran an offensive play in that series after the call. I lost a down there somewhere during all that. Neumann was on the field because I believe a player made the call of which penalty to accept and thus the confusion. I may be wrong. Anyway, like you said, it may have affected that series, but not the outcome of the game. Should have been PNG ball, 3rd and 20 (or whatever half the distance would have given you plus loss of down). No, they ran another play, it was pass down the sideline that almost got intercepted. My memory is terrible. That's what I remember though. I'll have to watch the game again Tuesday night. DVR it and you can watch it all year long baby! I will. I do remember asking the guy next to me why they accepted the unsportsmanlike penalty. I thought it was a double foul. We have had two penalties at once marched off against us before. So I though it should be 3rd down with the loss of down. The next thing I remember is PNG punting. I hope my wires aren't crossed, but it was a confusing circumstance.
