Final Four Thread/Butler advances to the finals!!!

This player was injured at the 9:00 minute mark. He had scored only 4 points by then and Duke was ahead by 15. I think it is great that coaches show emotion for their players and have a certain type of closeness, but my wife and I both thought he was going to kiss him. -
Els has been playing great lately. I call him ''Mr. Perfect Swing". How do they arrive at the original pairings for the Masters? Someone told me but I forgot.

What's not to like about Duke....except that they have been a very successful program? Success breeds contempt. As great as Duke always seems to be, they should have a couple more titles, IMO, but those are very difficult to get. Butler beating Syracuse, K State, and Michigan State, shows to me that they are not intimidated by Duke at all. Duke beating Baylor (who I thought might just beat Duke) and W. Virginia, shows the caliber of game we are in for with these two teams. I like Duke in this one, but if Butler pulls it off I won't be too upset. They are a fun team to watch and their coach is a class act (so is Hayward) who doesn't get very excited. He's cool and calm. Coach K is a class act too. This will be a very good game. -

Duke vs. Butler will be a good game! -
All the time. It's called life. You need to reread my post and see what I said about the game.
What do you do for a living? Let me come to your job and second guess you on how you mowed that yard. Yes you touched a nerve. We put our lives and families on the back burner so we can coach kids and the game we love. This is our job, not a hobby that we get to do after we finish our "real" job at 5:00. I know that is what we choose to do and I can handle being second guessed, because no other job is put out there for all to see the results. But, it's not fair for you to sit there behind a screen name and judge or question someone that is around his kids all the time and knows what is best for his team. I promise you, KG is one of the best coaches in this area and he does everything within his power to make sure that his kids are prepared night in and night out. Vidor will be there in the end and this will all be a distant memory.
All coaches are second guessed all the time, no matter what. If a coach can't handle being second guessed, he needs to find another profession.
Obviously you can't or you wouldn't have jumped me. Whether or not to start Hester made for a lot of second guessing. No one has questioned the dedication of the coaches to the kids, but this is what they always fall back on. I never said anything about Green not being a good coach. Don't put words in my mouth. Try watching ESPN on NFL draft day....talk about second guessing.....and don't lie, you do it too. I inspect parts for a manufacturing firm......fire away.

All coaches are second guessed all the time, no matter what. If a coach can't handle being second guessed, he needs to find another profession. I already said I applauded coach Green's decision to not start Hester as some type of mind game. It just didn't work the way he planned. It's not the end of the season for Vidor by a long shot. I think the main thing is that most people who love baseball wanted to see the showdown between these two great pitchers and were denied that by coach Green. Just the way it is. Nothing wrong with feeling that way at all.

Great game Dogs! Way to mow 'em down Kirby!

What I got from the PA News articles is that Vidor coach is playing some head games by not announcing his starter until game day. He also said that if Hester does not start, he will pitch at some point. I understand all the hoopla behind this approach and commend him for it. The thing is that both teams have to just go out and play the game.....putting the ball into play, no matter who is on the mound. I give the edge to Nederland at home. Good luck to both teams. I hope to be in attendance for this one.

That's not blue. That Dickie V. -
Two of the best pitchers in the area going at it. A squeeze bunt wins it for Ned in 10 innings.
Oh-hhhh, so now it's baseball and you want to MAKE UP different rules. Friendswood could have (1) purposely struckout.......
Why are you dogging FW? I thought you liked running up the score. You can't applaud one a dog the other. Don't be two-faced.

Well, I bet we could both go back through the game and pick several bad calls both ways, and you know what?....Duke still wins with coaching and clutch shooting. Duke went up for shots that were rejected, and they called most of them clean blocks. Baylor is a fantastic shot blocking team, but they were also hammering the Duke shooters and rebounders. Baylor will be back. The best team won.
Bears getting screwed by officials
Yep, no one ever gets beat, they just get screwed out of it. ::) Duke hit the crucial, coffin nail shots and Baylor let Duke milk the clock without even trying to foul with a little over a minute left. Basketball games usually come down to the last couple minutes and that's when coaching kicks in. Baylor was outcoached in the end.

Nederland 20 Central 0 Final no-hitter Bellow
baddog replied to 1696dogs's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The entire difference in this matter is that had Central beaten Nederland 20-0, you wouldn't have posted anything. You don't pull a pitcher who is working on a no-hitter (just like Yates going for the 100 point record, which I fully understood). I have never seen that done at any level. -

..........plus, it's called a ''MERCY" rule. I wonder why it's given that name?? This game had the runs scored so early, that even playing for the run rule to end it, the 5 innings didn't get there fast enough. Bad comparison there all the way around......apples and oranges. -
This is terrible the Nederland coach should be fired for running up a ridiculous score right guys?
Pretty lame there buc, being it is only one game, we played our subs (except for Bellow for the no hitter), and the game has to go 5 innings. -
Woods: 'I've done some pretty bad things'
baddog replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't have to like anybody who screws around on their wife.....Tiger Woods included. I don't even have to like him if he doesn't. Being the best athlete in the world doesn't mean I have to overlook his behavior off the course (who he really is). -
Ags played good enough to win. It just came down to the last shot and they had to kinda rush it...came up barely short for the win. Great game anyway.
