1. Just going by what I read on here. I personally don't know the kid. I made nothing up either. I don't see why anyone would make things up about the bat and gun either. Reread my post. It was mostly a question. Don't the kids get a chance to meet their coaches before signing?
 2. So what happened? I hear he was cutting classes and making poor grades (forgivable). Even not getting along with the coach is forgivable. But when a kid hits people with a bat and later on, a gun is pulled (if he indeed pulled one), then he loses my support. This is not something that can be condoned by saying he made bad choices. I'd feel this way about anyone. So what is it? Did he pull a gun?

Then you have the ''Greater Houston Area'' which includes what surrounding areas??........so what is your point? Oh yeah......''How 'Bout 'Dem Bulldogs??"
No one in Houston knows anything about Beaumont unless they have  moved from this area.
?

Nederland and Ozen are Co-Champs.
Okay...........let me re-phrase may question.........when was the last time Nederland represented their district as the No. 1 seed?
I believe it was late '50s...not sure.
 7. Some people are truly sorry for their misdeeds and will atone for them. Only time will tell. Then there are those who are sorry they got caught. We shall see. I personally thought Tiger's keyword was ''entitled''. Being as rich as he is, this feeling will be difficult to overcome.
 8. There's a new sheriff in town and his name is Brian English.  :D
 9.
lol no doubt
Buc, surely there will be some coverage of this game that you can see on you computer. Soulja, I don't have the foggiest idea who we might play.
 10. Now you see why I said it is a little foreign.  ;)
 11.

You'll have to forgive me but talking about Nederland being co-district champs in basketball and playing a game for seeding is a little foreign.  ::) Also, I thought the paper said that they might play the game for the outright title. Thanks for the info.
Well get used to it!!! They should be contending for district titles for many years to come!!!
lol...it just hasn't hit me yet. Things like this take time to sink in.

 13. This has to be the top basketball story around these parts. Why isn't basketball like football and just call Ned and Ozen Co-District Champs and flip a coin for the seeding?
 14. Ags could make a push if they could close out. Texas is too wishy-washy right now. They have the talent, but the shots ain't been dropping 'till last game.
 15. Yep, my mistake. I was thinking of the UNC game.
 16.
Funny how you go straight to that over all record and completely bypass that 1-9 conference record. ;) Nebraska is terrible. 12 non conference wins against nobodys. But I will say that tu looked better, but Nebraska does that to folks. ;D
I didn't bypass anything, but let's look at the conference record. Kansas only beat them by 12 and 11, and the Ags beat them by 11. You gotta give props for the total thrashing by 40 points.. BTW, where did you get that W/L list? I know Kansas has a knot on their record....losing to Texas.
 17.
Big 12 Team Conf. W-L Tot. W-L Kansas       10-0       24-1 Kansas St.   7-3        20-4 Texas A&M   7-3       18-6 Texas         6-4        20-5 Baylor         6-4        19-5 Missouri       6-4        18-7 Oklahoma St.  5-5      17-7 Texas Tech    4-6      16-8 Oklahoma       4-6     13-11 Iowa St.        2-8     13-12 Colorado       2-8      11-13 Nebraska       1-9     13-12
AAW, don't you think that with Nebraska's overall record, which is not far behind Texas and the Ags, that a 40 point win is pretty significant?
 18.

the more top-notch teams you have to play in the tourney, the more likely you are to get beat.  I'd much rather Texas' first two games be against a 16 and a 9  than an 8 and a 1.
Thank you! Plus you don't want to wear down your players in the early rounds with tough OT games and you haven't made it to the Final 8
Making it to the Elite Eight is not bragging rights if you are set on winning it all. You beat the top teams first, then you coast through your bracket.

I figure that if we are going to win it all, we have to put a string of wins together. Whether we start out playing the easier teams or not, eventually we will have to play the better ones, so if we're going to do it, just do it. I don't care about just making the sweet sixteen. Does anyone think we have been losing from a coaching standpoint?....I mean the motivational stuff like a kick in the rear! You can't think that you are great, go out just go through the motions and expect to win. You have to be dedicated and focused. Hook 'Em
seeding does make a difference.I'd rather play a Lamar University than U-Conn in the 1st round.
Why?? If you're scared you can't whip Uconn in the 1st round, what makes you think you can do it later? Plus you wouldn't have made that Lamar statement back in the 80's. Whoever you play, you have to beat. This week, next week, it doesn't matter, you just have to win.
 20. Good post short, but I thought the shots were there, just not dropping. The team needs an attitude.

 22. 95 % of basketball games are won and lost at the foul line. Show me a team that shoots 75-80% Fts, and that will be a successful team......try Duke, or Larry Bird's Boston Celtics. You're right bullets, Texas needs to make their FTs.
