Yao out for rest of Playoffs

"Rockets won't and can't win another game in the series".....WRONG!! The Rockets beat the crap out of the Lakers without their top two stars and their backup center. Woo Hoo. Keep it up Rockets!!!! -

I'd be willing to bet that had the Lakers lost Kobe earlier in the season, they wouldn't have even made the playoffs. The Rockets did it without McGrady. Now, take away Gasol (forward/center) and let's see what they could do. I could even make bold predictions for the Lakers not winning again without those two. Ya think? -

Couldn't pass it up. Fisher wasn't playing, so he could have elbowed you some room. : People fighting over sports is childish anyway. I really don't understand that. Disagreeing, of course, but not actually coming to blows. Rockets have to win the next game or it's over. Not sure how many teams have come back from 3-1. Probably not many. -
Did Magic Johnson have to score?....nope. I dont have the stats but I would be willing to bet he is at or near the top in rebounding for guards in the NBA. I wouldn't doubt that one bit. Magic Johnson played every position and scored from every position. The Laker teams he played on, he didn't necessarily have to score from the point, but when they played the Larry Bird led Celtics, then all players had to contribute. Ronda getting a triple double on that Celtic team, the rebounds are most impressive. Ten points and especially ten assists aren't impressive. I don't think he got them with blocked shots or steals. I still think Williams is better.

That will be the only time Ronda and Larry Bird are mentioned in the same sentence, except maybe to say they both played for the Celtics. I think Deron Williams is much better.

Poor baby. Only going to make $17 million this year. I have a problem feeling sorry for millionaires. None of my ''health issues'' are personal. :

Some on here predicted a sweep and are now patting themselves on the back for the 1-1 record.....hey, but I'm probably wrong. : I don't care for physical basketball. The very essence of the game is non-contact. Now we have extra fouls (6), soft fouls, hard fouls, intentional fouls, fouls to give, players whose only job is to foul.....geez. The teams that have to play a physical game, simply are not better at basketball, or they wouldn't have to foul. Let them put on pads, no dribbling, and all the players would be the size of Shaq......call it bumperball......Just my two cents. Go Rockets. -
Calvin Murphy.....Greatest of Al Time???

I sure get tired of getting skipped over. -

I liked Murphy when he broadcasted the Rockets games with Bill Worrell. After his daughters dragged him through court with false charges (they should be in jail) I think that took a toll on him. I think he still owns the most consecutive FTs record. I don't listen to radio much. He might be a loon now. -
New Black Panthers plan noon Monday rally in Lumberton
baddog replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
As long as the criminal element of society is embraced and empowered, crime and injustice will flourish. What's so 'new' about the black panthers? Nothing. They are still a hate group as they always have been. -
I was right there. That's the most dominant performance I have ever seen Nederland play in a playoff game....and like you said, they won state. That one hurt.

Didn't Windows XP make a terrorist threat by saying that if another black man went down in Lumberton, they'd tear the town up? That's a federal offense right there. Windows XP doesn't want any facts in this case because facts wouldn't serve his agenda. Blacks in Africa are being murdered and enslaved by the thousands everyday by their own kind, but you won't see XP going over there because his agenda is here. I feel bad about the guy who died, but let's wait for the facts to come out. If the cops were in the wrong, then they should be punished. If the guy died from head trauma from the auto accident, or anything other than a brutal police attack, then XP should give a public apology to the town of Lumberton......like that's going to happen. -
I have to admit that I am impressed with this guy. Even finishing bogey-bogey on some tough holes, the others followed suit or parred out and Sean won. if he ever gets that 'killer' instinct, he'll make some more noise. The announcer asked Woods if he was a loser, and Tiger said yeah, but he wasn't even 'first loser'. I thought that was funny and Tiger played it off well.

Celtics vs Bulls...CELTICS ADVANCE!!!
baddog replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
ESPN just announced that the Celtics/Bulls matchup was the most watched first round NBA playoff game in history. They didn't even say thanks to all the Houston and Portland fans who had to watch that game waiting to see theirs. : -
TVC, I see your point and it does bring up questions, but since the UIL governs extracurricular activities which is competition between lots of different schools, wouldn't it at least hamper the spread from one school to another? Plus, it's not just the kids, you will have all of those sniffling, sneezing fans to worry about too. Wouldn't it be up to the individual districts to close the schools, which has already happened many places across the country?

Yeah, I should have said they need to get him the ball. I'd like to see Battier get hot on some 3s. The Rockets know what they are up against. I think it will be a good series. -

Well, if the Rockets are going to win it all, they are going to have to beat the Lakers at some point. Kobe is going to get his, just try and hold the bleeding to a minimum. Yao is the key for this team, but he is really going to have to play his best for the Rockets to overcome the Lakers. Let's just steal one of the first two in LA and see what happens. Go Rockets -
stangchain, I also agree to close the borders. That makes sense. But when do we make the 'effort' to stop the spread of this virus? When it hits Houston, how about Winnie....maybe Port Arthur? Interrupting sports events isn't going to bother anyone that much. My company vaccinates all its employees every year against the flu. Is that overreacting? Nope, just being cautious. We have to start somewhere. May 11th....I agree that is a stretch.
