  1. Didn't Windows XP make a terrorist threat by saying that if another black man went down in Lumberton, they'd tear the town up? That's a federal offense right there. Windows XP doesn't want any facts in this case because facts wouldn't serve his agenda. Blacks in Africa are being murdered and enslaved by the thousands everyday by their own kind, but you won't see XP going over there because his agenda is here. I feel bad about the guy who died, but let's wait for the facts to come out. If the cops were in the wrong, then they should be punished. If the guy died from head trauma from the auto accident, or anything other than a brutal police attack, then XP should give a public apology to the town of Lumberton......like that's going to happen.
  2. I have to admit that I am impressed with this guy. Even finishing bogey-bogey on some tough holes, the others followed suit or parred out and Sean won. if he ever gets that 'killer' instinct, he'll make some more noise. The announcer asked Woods if he was a loser, and Tiger said yeah, but he wasn't even 'first loser'. I thought that was funny and Tiger played it off well.
  3. ESPN just announced that the Celtics/Bulls matchup was the most watched first round NBA playoff game in history. They didn't even say thanks to all the Houston and Portland fans who had to watch that game waiting to see theirs. :
  4. TVC, I see your point and it does bring up questions, but since the UIL governs extracurricular activities which is competition between lots of different schools, wouldn't it at least hamper the spread from one school to another? Plus, it's not just the kids, you will have all of those sniffling, sneezing fans to worry about too. Wouldn't it be up to the individual districts to close the schools, which has already happened many places across the country?
  5. Yeah, I should have said they need to get him the ball. I'd like to see Battier get hot on some 3s. The Rockets know what they are up against. I think it will be a good series.
  6. Well, if the Rockets are going to win it all, they are going to have to beat the Lakers at some point. Kobe is going to get his, just try and hold the bleeding to a minimum. Yao is the key for this team, but he is really going to have to play his best for the Rockets to overcome the Lakers. Let's just steal one of the first two in LA and see what happens. Go Rockets
  7. stangchain, I also agree to close the borders. That makes sense. But when do we make the 'effort' to stop the spread of this virus? When it hits Houston, how about Winnie....maybe Port Arthur? Interrupting sports events isn't going to bother anyone that much. My company vaccinates all its employees every year against the flu. Is that overreacting? Nope, just being cautious. We have to start somewhere. May 11th....I agree that is a stretch.
  8. I think it is a good thing and not really overreacting. When do we take proper preventive measures, when half the school is sick? I don't think this is a panic situation, but the WHO and CDC need to stay on top of things. Swine influenza is a terrible virus.
  9. Lost our ace closer...15 day disabled list. Oh well....let's see what we can do. Go Stros!!!
  10. I think I have decided to vote ''YES''. Businesses can vote any way they choose. If their food is good, I will still eat there no matter how they voted.
  11. when was the last time nederland baseball went to the playoffs? 2006? I know not in '08, but I don't think '07 either. How about '06? This year is all that matters right now. Way to go Dogs!!!!!
  12. The best I've seen, and yes, this topic has been covered.
  13. I reiterate my stance on eyewitness accounts. Some see a punch, some don't....very unreliable. The tapes are the only way to go, and they may not show everything. The only ones who know what really happened are the kid and the cop, and one of them is going to lie.
  14. I'm voting for the bond just so smitty's taxes will go up. ;D I only have one question, and I could probably get the answer if I went to the Ned site, but with the new buildings, has the overcrowding problems been addressed?
  15. I need all the ''facts'' before I can pass judgment.
  16. I'll take two out of three anyday, especially against a good Dodgers team.
  17. I take no sides here because I was not there, but here are some fun things to chew on.... 1. Eyewitness accounts are some of the most unreliable. Everybody sees everything differently and adds their own flavor to it. 2. If cameras are present they should be used. Why else do we have them? 3. Kids should not fight at school, but it is not unusual. It is now an arrestable offense...go figure. 4. Cops attempting to make an arrest should not grab by the throat, if this is indeed what happened. 5. I have passed judgment on no one. I would like to see the tape.
  18. Any game I happen to attend is tops for me. ;D The Burke HR has to be tops. The Pujols HR is still orbiting earth. :
  19. What are you trying to do bigdog confuse me with the facts? It's a whole lot more fun to believe that something underhanded is going on in the District. We all love just the hint of a scandal even if it's not true! Any person that can't see through this smoke screen needs to watch politics a little more. The best way to keep the opposition from mounting an offense is to keep them on defense. Make them chase their tails all day trying to defend their positions. The only solution that has been brought up is to increase the maintenance budget. I would love one person to show me how. Show me a School District, City, or State that has excess money. There's not one. They all have more needs than they have funds. So how do you increase any departments budget, the only way is to take the money from someone else. If you look at most schools, salaries are the top budget items. So what are you saying, cut salaries and increase the maintenance budget. The only way to increase one budget is to cut someone else's budget. So if you believe the folks that say we can do all the repairs on our schools without raising taxes or passing a bond then who's budget do you want to cut? Teachers? Transportation (new wellness program, make all the kids walk to school, they will not mind a little rain every now and then)? What the anti-bong group is really saying is they don't want new taxes and they don't care who it hurts. They are totally selfish, it's all about them. If there was another way to do this without a bond or without raising taxes don't you think every school district in the USA would be jumping on it like a chicken on a June bug. You bet they would! Who wants to raise taxes? No one in their right mind. Look at the things that have been written about the board, the administration and the leadership in Nederland. Do you really think these folks would subject themselves and their families to this if it was not necessary? I don't think so! Would You? Very good post. I can't add anything to that.
  20. Bulldogs take over 1st place in district with the win! Way to go Dogs. I knew you could do it.
  21. I am impressed if they got the infield covered. When we left the parking lot it was pouring down rain and the tarp was laying in leftfield. I believe nederland's players had gone inside. Either way based off of what people from Nederland told me the outfield is where rain outs happen over there. Maybe some of you can confirm or debunk that. I sure hope it dries out. I know neither of the teams want to put it off any longer. Even though we are underdogs on this board I still think we will show up and play hard when ever the game is finally played. Maybe even pull the upset. ;) If you didn't feel that way about it, the kids shoudn't even suit up.
  22. Yeah, but which one is the worst? Heck, breeze through these....[Hidden Content]
  23. The Astros win Central, play the Phillies for the NL Pennant, and beat the Angels for the WS. The people on here downing the Astros are the same ones who will be backing them all the way when they are winning.....saying," I knew they could do it " Give me a break. Either you're for your team, or you're not. If they go down, I will go down with them. If they win it, I always " knew they could "
  24. Won't be a sweep, IMO. We relied on a 60% shooting night to put them away. We won't have that kind of performance consistantly. Blazers are not done... I agree with the 60% comment, but I think the Blazers are done. This game was dominated by the Rockets and I went to bed in the 1st half. Getting some offensive rebounds will even out shooting less than 60%. I need to go read my paper and look at some stats. I'll be back. What I dearly love is how well the Rockets play without ''always hurt'' McGrady. They should trade him for some young guy.
