  1. Hey Lazeek. Nope, not sick at all, just still living in the past with the guys I grew up with. Nothing wrong with that. ;D
  2. Whatever, I think you need to look at the lists of past winners of the PGA, British Open, US Open, and Masters and please show me where the dropoff in talent is. Tiger would smoke those guys? I think not.
  3. Besides Phat Mac, I am the only one on this thread who is not a moderator. Do all you guys know each other or something? Just curious. Tiger is the best today, but he needs better competition IMO.
  4. I see your point and like all the golfers of old BUT none of them had to stare down Tiger on a Sunday. Sorry, I think just the opposite. That kid today could have won had he not choked. Please don't tell me that's what Tiger does to people. All the old greats made final day charges of their own, and some won, and some leaders choked, but not like I see today. These are just my opinions and today's contest merely reinforces it.
  5. I will repeat my stance. Tiger Woods is the best player in golf today. However, if you spotted Raymond Floyd a 5 shot lead going into the final day, 4 birdies would not be enough. Not only would Raymond have played bogey-free golf, he would have birdied a couple more just to make sure you didn't have a chance. We just don't have that type of players today.......and again, I like Tiger.
  6. Tiger will make that putt.
  7. Players today can't hold a lead and force anyone to play catch up. They choke balls into the water when all they have to do is play center of the green. Tiger's job is made more easy....IMO.
  8. You give yourself way too much credit. You don't get to me at all. I just don't get you. Your opinions are not facts. It's just the way you interpret them. Have a good day, buddy.
  9. Methinks kool-aid is better than the stuff you been drinking. Just what is it that crawled up inside of you and died?
  10. Again, you have no point. It is MOOT. No one is scared of anyone. If they were afraid, they wouldn't don the uniform.
  11. Actually, LaMarque smacked us around twice in one year when they won the title ('03 I think). Once in pre-district and in the playoffs. However, we played them tougher that year than anyone, except for maybe Texas City. The past two seasons we have played both Lamarque and Brenham. Apparently we do not run from powerhouses, so your point is moot. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out either. Is your team playing the same teams as 5 years ago. Then you must be scared.
  12. Fill in for smitty....How else does one team tell another team that they are going to play someone different in pre-district? Like I said before, no other team is still playing the same pre-district schedule as 5 years ago. Therefore, no one is ducking anyone. Times change and teams play other teams. You still haven't answered my question.
  13. that's not the question ....the question is why did Brook and Nederland stop playing....after the last time they played Nueman told Stump he didn't want to schedule Brook the next year, that's when Stump went out and found other teams to play... Nope, but it was inferred that that was the reason. Tell me, how else is it done? smitty, what HS team do you follow?
  14. It's actually called 'field turf'. It's been voted best in the NFL by the players. Check this out... [Hidden Content]
  15. I guess if a team can keep a coach long enough, he can develop an MO. You are dead wrong on this one as usual. Lots of other teams want to schedule the LMs and Brenhams, but it's up to Neumann to play them all just to keep you pacified. Who are the powerhouses that Ozen has been accustomed to scheduling? Inquiring minds want to know. Been brushing up on your Latin lately? :
  16. It takes a real caring individual to poke fun at one of the few sports a paraplegic can play. You get my vote for He-man of the year. Good job.
  17. Is there another team on here who can say that they are playing the same pre-district teams they played 5 years ago? If not, then I guess you are afraid of those teams too.
  18. He needs to be introduced to Meadowlark Lemon's half-court hook, which he could make 9 out of 10 times. ;D
  19. Larry Bird....the consummate player
  20. Chaz, 14 other teams were ousted, including your spurs. It didn't matter where they were ranked either. For now, as you say, 1st place feels kinda good, especially without their ''Star'' player in McGrady. Take the star player off a lot of the other teams and see if they go on win streaks.
  21. My thoughts from another thread..... My Rockets beat the sucky spurs today....what a game. Rockets are a better team without (always hurt) mcgrady. rockets take over first place.

  23. WB, has anyone come up with any scenarios for three high school teams playing in one stadium? Surely one team will be away, while one of the two remaining will play Saturday. Nice video.
  24. One other note about the equipment and I will let this one go. The 7200 to 7300 yard courses Jack played on with his style of clubs and golfballs, would equate to the courses having to be about 8000 yards with today's bigger drivers, composite shafts, and hotter golfballs with more dimples. I'm done.
  25. Agree to disagree. I will say again that Tiger would have won some tournaments and some majors against these guys, but I don't think he would have as many as he has now, due to the lack talented players each week with majors of their own under their belts. Here is something I found today and it pretty much explains my position.... One other point about Jack's 18 majors: he had to beat all manner of men who were hellbent on winning. Some of them, really, were a little crazy. (These golfers won at least two majors in the Nicklaus years): Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Fuzzy Zoeller, Hubert Green, Raymond Floyd, Johnny Miller, Hale Irwin, Andy North, Tom Watson, Dave Stockton, Lee Trevino, David Graham, Julius Boros, Seve Ballesteros, Tony Jacklin. As a group, they beat Nicklaus more often than he beat them, and he still got to 18. Here's the fivesome of golfers who have won multiple majors since Tiger won his first major in April 1997: Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen and Mark O'Meara. (Jose Maria Olazabal, Lee Janzen and Payne Stewart, all multiple major winners, each won one after April 1997.) The Els fivesome would have won in any era, including Jack's, but even combined they don't match Woods.
