Word is that Jasper ISD has decided to add a huge teacher workload including coaches. Word is they will have to teach six classes and they are steamed and very angry! Anybody have any INSIDE info on this topic. I heard from OUTSIDE that some of the coaches are so mad they are looking for other jobs.

[/quote] Rhodes was nominated and was on the ballot.  He was the best offensive player in the district which is what earned him District MVP honors.  If some local "homer" writers didn't vote for him that would be a shame.  Let's see how Beaumont, Orange and Port Arthur writers voted.

After the SNAFU of not printing a story about HF upsetting Silsbee on Friday night to force a playoff game between HJ and Silsbee last night you think the Bore-mont Enterprise Sports would at least have a write-up in Tuesday's paper about the big playoff game between HJ and Silsbee, huh? NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! The only thing in the paper was the following: Monday's Game H-J vs. Silsbee at Vidor, late THE GAME WAS OFFICIALLY OVER AT 9:10 pm! What a joke the Bore-mont is! Who's the sports editor? People do care about high school baseball! It was standing room only last night at the game!

I was right about the better TEAM winning, but I was totally wrong about McDonald. I thought he would get shelled, but he pitched a great, great game. Nice job McDonald! By the way, where was the "big" first baseman for HJ last night? That guy was a good hitter? Is he hurt?

Let's see Buna vs. Jasper! Oh, that would be too ugly. Jasper would dominate that 2A team. Never mind.

Although, Coach Terrier is an excellent coach, one should examine why he had a 3 district win team last year but produced an 11 district win team this season. Let's look shall we: Buna had to play in 3A last year against Jasper, Silsbee, Kirbyville, Coldspring, Shepherd in which there are only two baseball powers. They won 3 games in their 3A district. This season Buna played in 2A against Kountze, Deweyville, Warren, etc.. Makes a big difference! Like from the outhouse to the penthouse! Terrier is definately the District Coach of the Year, but not the SE Texas coach of the year.

Are you kidding me? They do a big story on Silsbee baseball last week about their playoff implications. It was a good story. Good quotes from the coach. The philosophy of who to pitch in the game against HF. Should they save their #1 or use their #1 against a non-playoff team. Blah, blah, blah, blah..... And then I hear a wild rumor Friday night at the Jasper-BC game. "Silsbee got beat by HF! The Tigers have to play HJ in a playoff game!" Wow! The upset of the year! I thought to myself, I can't wait to read about it tomorrow morning in the paper. I'll find out where and when the playoff game will be! I drive to my local gas station for coffee and the Bore-mont Enterprise to read about this 3A SE Texas baseball story of the year! What??? NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! Are you kidding me! That's ridiculous! (And don't blame the school for not calling the score in. The Bore-mont Enterprise wrote the big pre-game story, they should have someone covering the game to let us know the outcome!) What a joke! There wasn't a story in Sunday's paper either. Just when the playoff game will be. Not even a story today, Monday! The Bore-mont Not-a-Surprise Sports section!

Hardin-Jefferson is a better team than Super Wal-Mart Silsbee. Too bad Silsbee. If you lose to a non-playoff team (great job HF!) in a game you had to win to ensure a playoff berth, then you don't deserve to get in. Regardless of anything, Silsbee will lose to Hardin-Jefferson because HJ is just plain better. HJ - 8 Silsbee - 2

It would be a shame for HF varsity to lose to Kirbyville's JV players.

I'm well aware of the fabulous pitching by the BC Cardinals, but they have an obvious chink in their armor this year. They can be beaten by any of the other top three teams (Silsbee, Jasper, HJ) on any night, regardless who is pitching. I do not believe from what I've seen that BC has the fielding and the bats (1 through 9) that they've had in the past few seasons. This is just one man's opinion, but again I say: Jasper #1 Hardin-Jefferson and Silsbee tied for #2 and 3 (HJ will beat Silsbee in the playoff for second place) BC will be checking in the equipment. Johnny D will still win Offensive MVP of the District.

All-District JV. Wow! The best players who aren't good enough for Varsity!
