  1. There has been a discrepancy of the reporting on this score. It was first reported widely that Center beat Rusk 14-7, but later reports had it Rusk winning 14-8. From other posts it appears this is the correct score. Either way, judging from the score it would appear that both teams will be equally tough for Jasper. Rusk beat Center. Both teams are not good. Jasper should roll! They will enjoy not playing a Carthage, a Diboll, a Kirbyville, or a Gilmer!
  2. Yall are just all mad because the Egales wont be able to hang this year! Tell 'em Big Bob! Just work on that spelling! You spell Newton's mascot this way: E a g l e s :
  3. Thanks for the info.

  5. Will that give Jasper the tie breaker even if they lose to Center next week? They won't lose to Center. Center is "trash."
  6. Good! Go Dogs! Who does it look like in the first round for J-town?
  7. Carthage is very good, they could easily go along way in the Playoffs. I realize that Carthage is good. Very good at that. I was just wondering about Jasper. Is there mutiny? Can Jasper still make the playoffs with two more wins? I hope they do.
  8. Which results in a loss for either Cleveland or Coldspring!!!!! Not necessarily.
  9. You guys will get plenty of opportunity to showcase your kickoff returns! We'll be watching! Thanks for alerting us to watch! You're a good fan!
  10. When was the last time Kirbyville played Newton in a real game? Somebody told me that the 'Cats came from behind after being down early to take the lead and ended up losing in a close game in the second half.
  11. All the talk was about how great Jasper was going to be after their late season success last year in the playoffs along with how great they were in 7 on 7! With the Bailey kid playing QB and all those hard summer workouts we kept hearing about and how committed everyone was I felt that this was definitely a promising year for the Bulldogs! When I saw that Carthage had hung 40 on the 'Dogs in the first half it made me stop and wonder. What has happened to Jasper football? It seemed after the hard-breaking loss to 2A Kirbyville during Week 1 along with the hurricane the following week that they have lost their desire to win. What's up? Just curious. Can they turn it around these next two weeks?
  12. Anybody here any possible word about this question?
  13. Aaron Hazlewood, QB, Kirbyville Through seven games Passing Comp Att Pct Yds TD INT 57 93 61.29 1057 15 4
  14. Please, the defense gave up 160 yards on three plays that were called back in the first quarter.
  15. and I'm sure the Bridge City fans will stand up and clap for the Mustangs who also lost homes from the Ike... Heck, let's everybody get up and clap for both teams!
  16. I think it's great! It makes a great story to tell later! Instills a little more school pride. I mean, if it weren't for the poor aggies, the Longhorn mascot wouldn't be named BEVO. Plus, it's just a bonfire.
  17. Kirbyville is better than Diboll and Corrigan-Camden. How did Newton do against those two? How do you know Kirbyville is better than CC? Because you decree it? You Kirbyville fans are in for a rude awakeningif you think the teams you have been playing are indicative of 2A contenders. You have yet to see a decent 2A team. As far as Diboll.. once again, there is no transitive property of football. Also you are talking about two games that were each decided by a single score (or less), a single play in either game could have had the decision going the other way. Even if there were a transitive property of football (there still is not) that is hardly decisive. Kirbyville would smoke New Waverly just like they smoked Crockett. How did CC do against New Waverly?
  18. I think some of us fans are getting a little bored. I mean when the first five games on the schedule are Diboll, Jasper, West Orange (which got canceled due to Ike), Center, Crockett and then the opponent style changes down to Shelbyville and Hemphill, and with Newton so far away, knowing that the Newton game will not determine any different playoff opportunity regardless the outcome, then some of us fans look ahead with excitement to the playoff challenge ahead. I'm sure the coaches and players are taking everything a week at a time. But I guess you're right. As fans, we need to focus on Woodville who picked our 'Cats to be their homecoming victim.
  19. What game were you watching? You must have been thinking about the Hemphill QB. Hazlewood was on the money!
  20. Kirbyville is better than Diboll and Corrigan-Camden. How did Newton do against those two?
  21. Wow---concern for the team? don't you think that is misplaced to say the least? Misplaced? I believe it's a valid question. I know Roundtree was their top downfield WR. He will be missed on the field for sure.
  22. Does this mean Alvarez for Prez and Barbay for Veep.
  23. "No wonder Coach Hooks will never use the Beaumont chapter again!"
  24. Definetly agree with this. But, this is not a school problem. Then why is the media calling them football players and a cheerleader? They are being classified in the media as being representatives from "school" organizations, huh?
