They looked better than I thought they would, but still have a lot of work to do. They need to forget this game and focus on HD next week. Evadale will sharpen what they need to and be just fine. Texas13 it should have surprised you after last year Evadale is not a team that will lay down they were prepared Kountze just executed a little better and broke a couple of plays. Was told last night the scrimmage will be played on Friday evening.

Is Evadale and Kountze on Saturday? I have heard it's Thursday evening.

I will also be there.

My son worked with him all of last summer, but I have not had luck getting in touch with Matt lately.

Trey Walden pitched for Kountze. I don not have stats No one stood out team effort by Kountze.

The team only has 3 seniors this year ( i believe) and two of those walked there are a lot of sophmores and juniors. I have not doubt they will be a contender soon.

gametime you are right the players have been hurt not the coach. That is why my son went back into the dugout he had made a commitment to his teammates. All will be fine in Lion country.

That would be incorrect, but I will say this watching those kids walk off the field together as a group has been the most leadership I have seen there in a long time.

Kountze has moved on, but you could be right about D'ville taking this one. It doesn't help when you have lost your catcher, first basemen, center fielder and DH I would not be surprised if Kountze pulls one out.

Old Ball Coach I agree with you 100% I had a long talk with my son when he got home that evening about commitment and what it means and what his goals in life are. I asked him if walking off the field would help him achieve these goals and he told me no and that is why he went back into the dug out. I told him his job is to play baseball and do what the coach tells him and that anyone can  find an excuse to complain about life being unfair. He was not allowed to play the rest of the game. A decision I agree with. I spoke with the coach after the game and told him if wanted to remove my son from the team I would support his decision. The players need to play ball as instructed by thier coach. Period end of story.

The guys were right to walk off the field,if the coach does not have the Balls to stand up and do whats right, the three players did. I know their parents are proud of them Wrong. the players were not right to walk off the field. If a playere wants to quit the team then they should, but they should never have packed thier gear and walked out of the dugout in front of the stands and back to the locker room. They should have stayed in the dug out and not taken the field. The players made a commitment to their teammates. Just because the disagreed with something the coach did they should have NEVER walked like they did. By the way there were four players that walked off and a 5'th who walked out but went back.

Stewart will be the coach and yes the offseason is in place. They also have Coach Colton back which is a great addition to the football program.

I will say it. It is the coaches fault............... The program doesn't need work it needs a overhaul. What do you think the outcome of the game is going to be when the coach tells the boys "you are going to lose this game" that happened the day of the game. Congrats to Hardin on the win.
