Driskell wouldn't get up to 200 If you coated him in lead, but he could move the chains. He didn't care if it was up the middle or around the end he just took the ball for a ride.

We had several players at the QB position against PNG, could be one of them, or it could be someone from totally out left field. We did pull Grogan from the Defensive line last year to play RB so you never know ;D

Neumann will not just wait for next year he will keep trying to put a team together. Look for the 4th QB at some point in the game.

Trying to figure out which side of the ball gets the players is like trying to figure out which came first the chicken or the egg. When you only have 7 or 8 players that can go one way you have to put 11 on the field. We have WR's that play in passing situations. The real debate should be why we don't have at least 22 good players so we don't have to play as many both ways.

Depends on how you look at it, Forney was 3rd on the chart, he is hurt but not from playing QB. Hurt his knee in the Friendswood game.

Better know someone with tickets, they are not sold at the gate!

The Truth! You can't handle the truth! The truth is the Dog's win more than they lose! That's the truth! Can you handle it? -

Smith would start for most teams around here. He has a good arm but better than that he makes good decisions. -

Nope, Bullfrogs! -
Man how much mileage can you get out of a thread? But I guess when most of the teams are off this week you have to have something to discuss.

Nederland at Friendswood Predictions?

My last trip there it was hot and the sun was right in our eyes for the first part of the game. If someone decided to keep it like it is I don't think the home fans will be to upset! -
Nederland at Friendswood Predictions?

If you didn't know it most folks wouldn't have known that it was Smith's first start in the spread. Don't think you will see any change except improvement. I am not if it will be this week but I expect before long people will be talking a lot about this offense. -
Come on Proud the topic of every discussion in PNG land for the last 5 years has been how to get rid of .....what's his name now. Just how many ways can you say we won?

Smith prevails in first start for Nederland

First Tyler Smith - I have watched a lot of Dog Ball over the years with some really good QB's, but very few have displayed the skill to make good decisions in their first start at QB. On our go ahead drive in the 4th I think we were like 3rd and 5. Most young QB's when they are under pressure have a tendency to just run the ball. Tyler rolled a little to his right and was under a lot of pressure, he kept his eyes down field because just as he started to roll right Brady broke to the inside. Tyler spotted him pulled up and threw a half side arm dart, this ball was on a rope and hit Brady for about six or seven. A few plays later he moves out of the pocket spots Brady break clear and drops a in stride bomb for 38 yards. Not bad for your first start! Lovelady - Had a solid game, played hard and made some good things happen. he blocked a punt for our first score. The defense never gave up and they learned as the game went, they put themselves in positions all night to defense passes, they missed a few, but they made many big plays. -
Smith prevails in first start for Nederland

Let's see now almost everyone on the defense started in a new position, plus several that were new on defense. The first half was a learning experience but the second half they began to put pressure on the Waller offense. This group will continue to get better so I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the battle for 4th! A new RB and a new QB and we still scored 27 points and I am sure someone can figure out how to spin this into the Dogs at best getting to 5th place. But I wouldn't bet the farm on that! -
Help me get caught up fellas...

I have not heard of the spread being scrapped, but the early season Neumann shuffle is taking place. Look for Cardenas at RB more often. Several moves on defense. Neumann and Co. will have them ready to play. -
More like new groove. Early summer talk was that he would get some time on the field this year just because of his athletic ability.
-
Well this is one Dog fan that thinks some of you guys thinking that Big Ned is going to be a cellar dweller is kind of premature. Yep we lost a good QB, but you know it's and amazing thing that each year we manage to put someone in the position that keeps the Dogs moving and Tyler Smith will be no different. You guys just keep on thinking how bad we are going to be, we love it!
