I don't think any of it matters because if you'd rather draw SSI than work, there's a doctor and a lawyer who will help you get it. Mix in all of those basic income programs that the leftists are trying to implement across the country and there's really no reason to lie about your age. The problem is this.... if you can lay around and have everything that you want provided to you, who's going to actually make your big mac, deliver your food, wash your car, or sell you the clothes that you'll be able to buy? Why would any of THOSE people bother going to work when they realize that it's not necessary to have everything that the lazy have?

I was focusing more on the QB position... you can't run a spread offense without a good QB and our talented kids prepare for baseball, not football. A couple of years ago there was a stud kid at Port Neches. Not Roschon, but the ace on the baseball team... they won a state championship and nobody knows who he was. There are tons of kids who dream and prepare to be qb1 for the Indians, but nobody grows up wanting to be Bridge City's qb. Our kids who could be qbs are playing select ball, LL, and taking pitching lessons, not going to football camps. That's the point that I was making.

Fat boys always play the tuba.

There were a LOT of people who kinda rolled their eyes and went along with it... or actually embraced it culturally. Not everyone, and not a majority, either, I'm certain, but if it's bragged about enough that people from all of the way down in Orange county know about it, it's not just a product of my bitter imagination. The part of me wonders if it's a timing issue. Were the high school kids who really played that thing up 5 or so years ago now moving more weight? Is it all just a coincidence? There's no way to know, but it's really not surprising, either. That's twice in the last year or so that people have left Jeffco and gotten themselves killed trying to buy drugs in Silsbee.
-
A large portion of the population in Silsbee takes great pride in their notoriety for the sale and use of narcotics. Hence the self-gloss “Smoketown.” That’s not something I made up, Silsbee people perpetuated that one. “It’s the Narcotics Tradin’ Capitol of Southeast Texas.” You know the jingle. Honestly, they do seem to have a little bit bigger problem over there than in comparable towns. Of course you can buy it anywhere, but I think it’s just a little easier to find in Silsbee from all appearances.

I know a couple that divorced and the final straw was an argument over a hotdog.

Oceguera is the only qb that I recognize… and he honestly wasn’t setting the world on fire under center
-
We don't have a "Mox." And our Billy Bobs are hoping to get all ones at the marching contest.
-
I dunno... You'll get the fat boys that are playing Tuba in the marching band to sign up and the kids who are JV Juniors to stay in the program... the problem is how do you get that talented kid (and his folks) that just wants to play baseball to get excited about football camps and STJFL instead of select ball with enough time to develop before the program actually turns the corner? Sophomore starting tailback in 2017 didn't play his junior or senior year... he already had interest as a pitcher. The starting qb from 2014 sat out his senior season because he was already committed to UT to play baseball. It's not just pitchers... the all district catcher from 15-17 or so never played football. It's a given that your catcher would probably make a FINE linebacker... just not in BC. I'm not hating on the baseball program, but its success comes at the expense of football in Bridge City. You can't have 26 district championships in baseball and two in football... something is just off.
-
After the success that we had in 2016, there was a really big turnout for 2017. That campaign ended up 1-7 or something like that (unbelievable string of injuries and a lot of talent had graduated) and by the following year turnout for the team was abysmal. The problem is that kids have a much better chance of being successful by playing baseball and participating in football (especially on a losing squad) can cause a kid to miss out on baseball season and just erases all motivation. You'll definitely get more kids to turn out if you're winning, but not necessarily the kids who have a chance to play baseball on the next level. It also comes down to kids playing LL, select, and having private coaches for baseball, but nobody is putting the effort into honing their kid's QB skills at the same age group. I don't know what the answer actually is.
-
No, sir… kids with arms sit out for baseball in BC. You can’t take a kid with zero experience/camps and expect good things to happen. It’s normal to watch kids in street clothes on the sidelines tossing a ball around better than anybody on the team. I’ve always said that there are probably 45 kids at school in PNG (elem-high school) that dream of being qb1 for the Indians and are working hard to make it happen. There are no such kids/parents with qb dreams in Bridge City.
-
Play bassetball.
-
You can’t do a thing out of the spread if you don’t have a decent qb under center. Ah, the good old days of having your middle linebacker line up under center and run draw plays 20-25 times a game because you don’t even have a backup qb.

No, the DOJ and FBI (which were both being run by Trump appointees) did not create a false Russian Hoax to help remove a sitting President. Now I'm sure you'll post a link to a youtube video done by some guy who used to repossess cars for a living who has it all figured out, he just can't prove it...other than a few thousand "affidavits" that he's willing to hand deliver to some official somewhere. You see, I still remember when Obama just wanted that Russian to "Tell Vladimir I'll have more flexibility after the election." I also am well aware that Rudy was playing hard and fast with the Ukrainians, just like Hunter Biden. Your blind allegiance to Trump has clouded your mind to the fact that they are ALL doing it.... The genuine fools are the ones who sit back and say "my guy didn't... it was a hoax!!!!"
-
Your mind is made. You believe evidence that doesn’t exist, from sources (“True the Vote”) that exist ONLY to spread lies and misinformation. What’s the point? I’d be better off outside trying to teach an oak tree to speak Spanish. The internet is a powerful tool. One can use it to educate (or in your case, miseducate) themselves about anything. If you believe that the Earth is flat, there are tons of sites/people who will support your beliefs. If you think that the moon landing was a hoax, or that the Holocaust didn’t exist… there are tons of places just like the ones that you and Reagan visit to feed you the morsels that you crave about the election. Do I feel like wasting my time to look at your “sources” to see whatever it is that you’re crowing about, then formulate a well-spoken critique only to have it ignored because your mind can’t be changed by reason, logic and facts when your heart of hearts is all that matters in your simplistic view of the world? I’ll pass. There’s a reason that everyone from the Republican Party, local election officials, state officials that oversee elections, the Justice Department, abs reasonable people across the nation agree that there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 Election. But you would accuse God Himself of lying knowing that it would damn your soul if HE told you Trump lost. So what’s the point? You offer no perspective to the conversation other than posting tripe and stating your belief that there’s no way Biden got 81 million votes. You offer nothing but an ignorant opinion… that’s not even worth debating.
-
It's really sad to see people who still believe in the tooth fairy, that the earth is flat, the moon landing was a hoax, and Trump won in 2020.

I left out "got his cheeks clapped" by Joe Biden.

Clinton was definitely more of a fiscal conservative than Bush II, or Trump. The debt/deficit doesn't lie.
-
Oh, I can... 1. Lost both houses of Congress 2. Ballooned the national debt 3. Got impeached 2x 4. Failed to repeal/replace Obamacare 5. Failed to secure the border 6. Strained diplomatic relationships around the world 7. Lackluster response to the pandemic 8. The revolving door of cabinet members 9. Rudolph Giuliani... that's all I have to say 10. The disgraceful behavior after losing the election in 2020... Trump was literally channeling Woody Hayes there for a month or so. A lot of people would blame the economic failure of the last year of his administration on Trump, but I point at the pandemic as the cause of that. Trump lacked a basic understanding of what it takes to manage the federal government, with all that entails. Why don't we just elect some guy off of the street to be our District Attorney? Why does your County Judge and Commissioners have to take hours and hours of courses upon taking office? Trump (like all new politicians) lacked the experience in Parliamentary Procedure, basic ethics for elected officials, etc.. Why don't we take some guy that manages a Dairy Queen and put him in charge of the army? Leadership is leadership, right? Well, we elected a guy with zero military experience AND zero government experience to be the commander and chief of our armed forces. Does that sound smart? Did it work out ok? More or less. Were we lucky? Absolutely. Was his heart in the right place regarding putting our interests first? I believe so.

I agree with what you're saying, but with an exception or two. Population growth has to be figured in when regarding vote totals. Also, voter participation rates are a huge factor. What Trump did REALLY well is motivate people to get out and vote against him. Yes, to vote for him, but obviously he encouraged even more to get out and vote against him. Mitt Romney is the opposite. He didn't encourage anybody to vote for him, but nobody felt motivated to get out to the polls for the first time in who knows how long and vote Obama because they couldn't stand Romney. Romney was so bland that he even cost Obama votes via low voter turnout. Your last statement is probably true... and he'd need to thank all of the social medial outlets for banning him so he can't blast his garbage out 24/7. Getting kicked off of social media actually helps him.

It's a legitimate concern.... So many people believe that they the right to have everything that they want.... and somebody else is going to pay for it. My thing is that if we KNOW that the election will be decided by the middle (because it is), why nominate somebody (trump) with a minority of loyal supporters but zero support from the middle knowing that you're going to lose? "Vote for us or you're stupid" really isn't much of a campaign theme.
