  1. I get so tired of seeing politicians whipping this dead horse just to get their supporters riled up. The people cheering this are too stupid too realize that it's no different than those whackos fighting for a woman's right to abort up until (and after, apparently) birth. Yeah, it gets your side whipped up, but it also energizes the other side to vote against you. It's a net nothing, except tying up tons of time and money to fight about a settled issue.
  2. I'm not.... Silsbee won exactly as many playoff games as we did. Silsbee was way short on talent this year.
  3. Trump literally spent 6 years insulting Arizona's favorite son, John McCain, then couldn't believe that the state flipped to Democrat. Words and actions have consequences. And to assume that those 11,000 votes (not proven fraudulent, just missing ID... "allegedly") would have all gone either way is a pretty big stretch. The fact that there were more votes missing ID requirements for mail in voting is somehow fraudulent while overlooking the fact that more people actually voted by mail is just ignoring the truth. What happened to the big audit(s) that they did in Arizona? If I remember correctly, Biden got MORE votes after the Trump backers audited the thing. EDIT.... [Hidden Content] Yeah, that's how it happened, all right.
  4. I hope he's working with kids. He's got a gift.
  5. You mistakenly thought I was talking about one specific party. There's no difference between hacks calling themselves media on the left and hacks calling themselves media on the right. OAN, Newsmax, and most of those sites that Reagan links are just as biased, just in the opposite direction.
  6. He's in his mid fifties, if I'm guessing correctly. He may have the time in, but he doesn't seem like the "pack it up and stay home" kind of guy.
  7. The Right to Free Speech was placed first in the Constitution because it's the most important one. The right of the press of speak about government is the lynchpin of democracy... without it the rest falls apart. It's really sad because we've lost the right to speak up about the government by default. The media has chosen a side and now actively works to further the ends of one political party at the expense of the other. There's really not much difference between the state-run media in totalitarian regimes and what we have here.
  8. I find it remarkable that as the "Good ole" racism that we read about and somewhat experienced via our parents' attitudes has gone away, the animosity between the races is worse than I can remember in my lifetime. 49/male. I can honestly remember talking to guys from East Texas in the mid nineties (in the era of the James Byrd death) and them claiming that they expected a race war to follow. I thought it sounded like complete nonsense from white supremacists. It doesn't seem that far-fetched these days. My grandfather was born in 1903... he grew up in the era of lynchings. People haven't gotten away with that mess in my lifetime, but yesterday we signed a law into effect banning it. I'm unaware of a single "lynching" that has occurred in the interim. I don't understand the point of holding people today accountable for things that happened years ago. There's a very troubling show on Paramount+ that's worth a watch. It's horrible and I honestly never realized how bad it was.
  9. Military, sure... I don't even have a problem with people requesting one because they can't get out or whatever. With a separate request and a verified ID or signature. But we should never, EVER send anyone a ballot without them having specifically requested it at every single election cycle. The opportunities for fraud are too great whenever millions of ballots are being shipped out haphazardly. Besides that, the mechanisms for counting those mail-in ballots were completely overwhelmed in 2020 because so many of them went out. We might as well start doing dial-in voting like on American Idol if we're going to do that. Having said all of that to say that the Republicans elected officials and party officials were unable to point out widespread fraud in the 2020 election. Doesn't mean that it couldn't have happened, or won't happen.... just that there wasn't (and still isn't) any CREDIBLE EVIDENCE.... and "affidavits" provided 18 months after the election don't prove anything, except someone really, REALLY believes that something nefarious happened... without a shred of evidence, of course. We need to make our election process more secure. But you'd best believe that IF the turnout was reversed and Trump had won in 2020, the Dems would be screaming "suppression" like they did after Abrams lost in Georgia in 2018 and the Republicans would be saying how safe our elections are based on the same lack of evidence they are decrying today.
  10. I wish I had time to point out the half-truths, hearsay, wild speculation, tall tales, and absolute lies. But it’s more of the same. Whack job A spews a lie. Whack job B repeats it, then a biased news source repeats it as a fact… and idiots believe it. The first two sentences of this tweet (without a single source, of course) use the words “might” and “apparently”. Then some body like you reads it and says “Voter fraud has gotten very sophisticated.” You literally read someone’s IMAGININGS about these super mysterious “ghost voters” (which were conveniently tied in with the term “illegal invasion aliens”-i nice touch to lock in the racists) and come back with the ironic statement “Voter fraud has gotten very sophisticated. Don’t be so gullible.” You literally just swallowed a pack of lies hook, line, and sinker, then accused others of being gullible because they didn’t wire the Nigerian Prince $500 like the email said.
  11. Somebody once said (about rock music from the 90s) “don’t mistake lack of talent for genius.” I’d say “don’t believe everything that’s said just because the mainstream media isn’t the one saying it.” Both of those articles are trash from dubious sources. “Oh, by verifying voter registrations against change of address forms, it looks like 12001 people voted in the wrong spot. Trump only needed 11,700 votes, so the election is nullified.” For starters, it’s a lie, based on a lie, about a faulty premise, that reaches an unsubstantiated conclusion that is basically just asking for a do-over. The Pillow Man was involved? The same one that was trying to get Trump to declare martial law so that he could stay in office? That Mike Lindell? People keep talking about “TDS” while seeing no problem with refusing to acknowledge the election loss.
  12. Actually, when the Bear retired, Alabama did slip into mediocrity. It took 11 years before they made it and won another national title in 1992 and that was with Gene Stallings (a former player for Bear Bryant) as HC. After he retired in 96 it was back to mediocrity until Saban came along in 2007.
  13. That's why Trump and his minions continuing to lie about election fraud is so dangerous. I'm all about pointing out election fraud... but all we got from day one was unsubstantiated claims with promises of proof to come... which never occurred. Or the people who just can't comprehend that 81 million people disliked Trump enough to vote for what we've got now because it just makes no sense to THEM. I expected to see issues with people who weren't allowed to vote on election day because their ballot had already been cast. That never happened. I expected that we'd see instances of people casting multiple votes... that didn't happen either. Do I think that a number of people grabbed up Grandma's ballot and voted for her? Absolutely, and it happens in every election from both sides. I also believe that problem was made worse by certain states mailing ballots out to the whole voter roll without a request from the voter. But I'll also say that more people legally voted in this election because a ballot turned up in their mailbox... it wasn't hard to vote against Trump and drop the ballot back in the mail. None of which adds up to mass fraud... must a massive turnout. And none of it was substantiated. I personally believe that the left is short-sighted in continuing to push the lie of "voter suppression," too. They don't really believe that anybody is trying to stop folks from voting, they just want people to VOTE like they believe the Republicans are trying to suppress their votes. Both sides are abusing the crap out of the voting issue.
  14. "There are 500 coaches that can win a Championship with this team..." Jerry Jones, 1994
  15. No. Because that evidence does not exist. I mixed a cocktail for myself on election night and told myself that I’d at least pretend that Trump won, because I knew (as any reasonable would recognize) that he was gonna get slaughtered in the mail-in votes. It was all there in the tea leaves to read. A big part of me kept waiting for credible evidence of widespread voter fraud… it never appeared. At some point you have to concede that it doesn’t exist. But i shouldn’t be surprised. Trump himself still believes that he won. Rephrase that. He still keeps telling his diehard supporters that he won. In reality, the pleading voice begging for the Republican AG in Georgia to “just find him 11,000 votes” understood what had happened. Not one cell phone video. Not even a picture, when 7 million plus instances of fraud were ongoing. The stolen election lie is just a big fairy tale. We’re almost two years after the election and there’s still no evidence of fraud. Nancy Pelosi correctly called the technique “merchandizing the lie.” You throw out a falsehood, people repeat it (even media outlets), then you point out the coverage as proof that the lie actually occurred. People are still putting out tons of misinformation and then pointing out the misinformation as “proof” that something occurred. The article that you quoted a couple of days ago gave “proof” that malfeasance occurred because they weren’t able to audit the actual ballots… the normal destruction of records is viewed as “proof” that election fraud occurred by hardcore reality deniers.
  16. Sure. But I don't think you'll see many SC wins brought about by a combination of school spirit and nice facilities. Because that's about all PNG has working for them these days.
  17. I think that Trump would easily have won in 2020 partly because of the first Impeachment if he'd have just not been willfully repulsive to anybody but his most loyal followers. The second impeachment was rightful in regards to having grounds.... the timing issue is a completely different story. As we're now looking down the barrel of another failed Trump Presidential campaign, I think Rs might regret not voting along with Romney in the Senate for the second Impeachment before it's all over. The people who keep squawking "yeah, but no mean tweets, huh?" have failed to grasp what happened in 2020. There was no election fraud. It's been conclusively proven that it never happened. Anybody who still believes that the election was stolen is literally a flat earther. More people hated Trump than liked Biden. That hasn't changed. If you had to ask the people who voted against Trump if they'd take him back now that gas prices are high, inflation is amok, and the whole shebang looks like it is coming off of the rails, every single one of those 81 million voters would say "no, eff that guy." They still hate him (understandably so) and nothing will change that.
  18. Right about the time that Dustin Long was getting smoked by Reggie McNeal at A&M. You can't coach athleticism.
  19. I'm curious.... I saw all of the hoop-lah from Jasper fans when they got their guy hired... local guy, community ties, etc... I can't help but notice a complete lack of enthusiasm from the B-Unit over this one. What gives?
  20. If it ain't broke, fix it until it is, I guess.
