  1. I think it's dumb to give somebody $100 bucks to get them to take a shot that's costing the US taxpayers who knows how much. Take it or don't. Mandates aren't right, either.
  2. Coach Dubois would lose his mind because the band would stay down on the track behind the team and play nonstop after halftime. It was the band’s “tractivities.” They were horribly disruptive to their own team and they finally put an end to it.
  3. All jokes aside, they’ve installed the spread for this year. The new coach was an assistant at Austin Westlake and all of our rbs are receivers now. What could possibly go wrong?
  4. You'd best believe that there's a lot of "professional courtesy" extended to brothers in blue that the rest of us don't get. I've got a friend whose ex-husband/DPS officer threatened her with his service weapon.... like he left marks on her head from it. They wouldn't even take a report when she called the local cops. In retrospect, it was the right decision because if he'd lost his job, she'd lose her half of his pension. Divorce is hell, boys....lol.
  5. The government doesn't pay anything... the taxpayers do. How much are you personally willing to spend to help these unfortunate tenants who haven't paid their rent in months (even if they are working/drawing unemployment)?
  6. I always assumed that God was directing my mom towards my weed/porn. At least that's what I told my kids.
  7. We shouldn't be mandating masks... but you ought to be wearing one if you're going to be in close contact with others throughout your day.
  8. A lot of times they're from the imagination of a scorned woman. But I kinda suspect that there's fire to go along with this smoke.... the indictment/retirement would likely not have occurred without some sort of evidence available. I'm gonna reserve judgment, but I've got a feeling there's something to this one.
  9. Y'all are well aware that I can't stand Trump, and believe that IF he tries to run again in 2024 he will lose.... and likely get another democrat elected. But having said all of that, isn't it crazy how we made it through four years of Trump without an international incident, yet here we are in August having just suffered a complete embarrassment in Afghanistan. I can't help but believe that the weakness we've displayed in the last few weeks will embolden our enemies. The people who attacked our troops during the evacuation? They're gonna go unpunished, and even if we DID try to avenge our fallen, we'd be going up against a much better armed enemy than we had two weeks ago. This wouldn't have happened if Trump had been re-elected. That's a lot coming from me. Once again, I wish he could have shut his mouth and won an easy re-election.
  10. I worked as a claim adjuster for a while after college.... I dealt with a couple of families who had lost loved ones and I ended up selling my old scooter. I just needed to be around to raise the kids and stuff. I always thought I'd get another one, but now that my parental obligations are pretty much fulfilled I just don't really have the urge to ride anymore. The ground is just too hard.
  11. I wish the Democrats would make condoms a political issue.
  12. That one time that our kids drew a gigantic twig and berries with gasoline on the field at LiCk'eM. Lol.
  13. My opinion? She was drunk. Or at least belligerent as she could possibly be. I'm fairly informed on political matters and I wouldn't recognize his wife if she was in a lineup. I highly doubt that the police office we're talking about had any idea that she was THE Mrs. Allen West. That doesn't mean that the media is being biased by not reporting on it like they do every OTHER time an AA in a position of power gets pulled over.
  14. The fact that you can't get kids/parents/teachers in those districts to do ANYTHING to conform with society, but yet the whole community will wear a mask like they're scared of getting the whip is comical. It ain't the 1860s, either, Buddy Garrity.
  15. My thing is this.... when a black person gets preference in the hiring process because of Affirmative Action, white people are getting passed over because of their skin color. ANY TIME A PERSON'S SKIN COLOR IS CONSIDERED IN THE HIRING PROCESS, A WRONG HAS BEEN DONE. You can't get much simpler than that.
  16. I don't know where we go from here when both sides see things from such polar opposite positions.
  17. Have y’all seen the improvements to our baseball fields?
  18. There was some discussion a few weeks ago that it looked like vaccinated people might be MORE effective at spreading the disease based on viral loads. I haven't heard anything about that recently.
  19. We've been guarding South Korea since the mid 1950s.... and it's kept those guys in North Korea off of our friends in South Korea. It wasn't our 3000 or so troops on the ground there in Afghanistan that kept the Muslim Extremists in their caves. It was the assurance that IF they tried anything, we'd put Mother Green (The Killing Machine) on 'em. Once that assurance was gone because of our "exit the theater at any cost" strategy was apparent, the Taliban just moved into the power vacuum left by our departure. You might be too young to remember, but in the 2016 election everybody on the left was screaming that Trump was going to have us in wars all over the globe in a matter of days. It never happened, and it was because the rest of the planet was convinced that Trump wouldn't hesitate unleash the hounds on anyone who threatened us or ours. What I think you're seeing now is the manifestation of the belief that the US (under Biden) doesn't have the stomach for conflict... that we truly believe that "climate change" is the real enemy.... that and oppression of our own minorities. The fear is that the Taliban aren't the only one of our enemies that will recognize and exploit the soft underbelly that Biden has exposed to the world. It'll be interesting to see what this means for our friends in Taiwan, Israel, South Korea, etc.... The EU is concerned that Muslim Extremists outside of Afghanistan will be encouraged by the relative ease with which they were able to take over Afghanistan and continue their obligation under the Koran to kill or subjugate every non-Muslim on the planet. Because that is what they are obligated to do, regardless of what the media would have you believe about the "religion of peace." You might have forgotten the "Summer of Isis" from a couple of years ago. A lot of people are expecting something similar to occur after this debacle in Afghanistan.
  20. When you realize that those guys have been at each others' throats since the time of Alexander the Great it adds a little perspective. I definitely can't claim to have the answers, but I'm certain that a nuclear device is NOT a good idea. I CAN state with almost certainty that we haven't lost a single troop in Afghanistan in over 18 months. It wasn't much of a war, if you catch my drift. Our presence in Korea, Japan, and even Afghanistan has kept the "bad guys" in check. But once we pull out, there isn't anybody left to keep the "bad guys" (in this case, the TaliBiden) from overrunning the country. While I place a TON of the blame on Afghans who were unwilling to fight the Taliban, I also recognize that without our support, they wouldn't be able to win against the TaliBiden. I disagreed with Trump's push to leave the Afghanistan just for the sake of leaving, and I totally disagreed with Biden's abandonment of our allies, many of whom now face certain, horrific death.
  21. Yeah.... at this point my retirement accounts are at all time highs. Good thing, because I'm pretty sure we're gonna need a wheelbarrow full of cash to buy a loaf of bread before this is all over with.
  22. China's state media mocked the US withdrawal in Afghanistan, saying the Taliban takeover was 'more smooth than the presidential transition in the US'
  23. Open your eyes.... we went from "our diversity is our strength" in the early 2000s to "how DARE you appropriate our culture!" Those Indian community is too busy complaining about perceived slights and imagined insults instead of fixing the real problems in their own communities. The Chief COULD be worried about rampant drug use, alcoholism, poverty, violence against women, poor educations, etc... but he's offended that some community a thousand miles away honors his tribe's history. Makes perfect sense to me.
