Did you see the video of them sitting on the jet engine like a hobos on a train as it taxied down the runway? I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the answer to "how to fix the problems in Afghanistan." But I know that what we've done in the last month is the wrong answer. Heck, I'm not sure that ANYBODY has the answers... but you can wait a couple of days and you'll see them executing our "friends" in soccer stadiums. It's coming.

Record Numbers of Regional Covid Cases
CardinalBacker replied to bullets13's topic in Local Headlines
The Delta Variant isn't behaving the same.... over 60% of the hospitalized in the SETX region are under 40 years old, or at least that's my understanding. Every time that a kid tests positive at the daycare, the whole class gets sent home for a day. Any other kids at the same daycare (siblings of kids in the affected kid's class) get sent home, too. We've lost my coworker for something like 8 weeks this year because kids keep getting infected down at the daycare. I know a guy at a local refinery... the whole control room won't be taking the vaccine because they don't trust science (despite making a living in a gigantic chemistry set). Two weeks ago two entire operations shifts were sent home because of positive tests. The "geniuses" started wondering if made better sense to just have the infected work the shifts instead of getting weeks off at a time while the guys who aren't sick cant get a day off because they're covering shifts for the vageens who won't take the approximately 65th vaccination of their adult lives. Any grown man that won't take the vaccine isn't a man. I'm sorry if that hurts your girlie feelings. -
Record Numbers of Regional Covid Cases

I guess the irony is that the people who THOUGHT they were being responsible by avoiding the vaccine are now almost 100x more likely to end up hospitalized than someone who isn't vaccinated... -
Record Numbers of Regional Covid Cases

My problem is that the whole thing has gotten so politicized... There should be no need for a mandated vaccine... there are so many "smart" people walking around refusing to vaccinate that it'll never get curbed. It's just gonna keep mutating and spreading. It's pretty funny that 95%+ of the people being hospitalized and dying are unvaccinated but people still won't go get the shot. I know tons of guys who were vaccinated for everything under the sun back in the military but won't go near this vaccine because a certain somebody in red ball cap didn't get re-elected. All of the people here refusing to take the vaccine are the same ones that were praising operation Warp Speed late last year. Literally.... the same people. -
Go jump the fence, Hippy... it's only a misdemeanor.

I've explained it too many times to count. It's a matter of opinion. You say that Trump did nothing wrong, and other people recognize rightly that he did. The fact is that you would have been trying to elbow your way through the doors to the capitol on 1/6 if you'd have been able to afford the bus fare to DC to see your fallen Messiah. Actually it's not a matter of opinion. Trump has been impeached for his actions. Hundreds have been charged and arrested. Countless civil lawsuits are pending against Trump. The fact that you haven't woken from your brainwashing/hypnosis is really sad.

[Hidden Content] Here's where 600+ people have already been charged. God, this is too easy.

And the fact that it happened about ten minutes after Don Jr, Rudolph, and the Don himself encouraged them to do so is just ironic, too? And the fact that it JUST SO HAPPENED to occur at the exact moment that the VP was to certify the votes was just dumb luck, too, huh? You guys would argue that the fellas that flew planes into the world trade centers were just out for a aerial tour and got a little too close... if Trump said so. You're not as smart as I thought.... and that's saying something.
-
Bull... those people went into the capitol on Trump's orders to "fight" and "stop the steal." They were there to stop the certification of votes after "traitorous" Mike Pence refused to break the law by not certifying the votes. The physical storming of the capitol and breaching the chambers of congress is a textbook insurrection. The fact that you goofballs keep coming back with "I went on a tour of the Capitol with my boy scout troop... was that an insurrection, too?" just proves that Trump's blinded loyalists won't admit what every rational person can easily see... it was an insurrection. And for whoever asked, getting out of line at the social security office doesn't count.
-
I think you could make that argument about taking over a police station... I don't see how "taking over a couple of city blocks" is considered an attack on government, but that's just my opinion.
-
Y'all keep asking for the definition... it's here. Then you turn right around and ask how it can be an insurrection when nobody brought weapons and nobody was killed. Where exactly in your definition does it state that weapons must be used and somebody has to die for it to be an insurrection? It doesn't. When the sitting president is defeated, then sends his supporters down the street to the Capitol building to disrupt the certification of the votes which would rightfully and legally remove him from office... that's about as textbook as you can get for a insurrection. "a violent uprising against an authority or government" is how insurrection is defined. Was there violence on that day? Ask the cop who got his brain beat in with a fire extinguisher. Was property destroyed? Yes. Were people killed? Yes. That's about as textbook as you can get for violence. You have not choice to agree that violence occurred that day. Was this uprising against an authority or government? They literally stormed the Senate Chambers as votes were being cast. You can try to defend the traitorous actions of your fellow Trumper insurrectionists all you want, but you guys managed to do something so embarrassing and shameful that you can't admit that it occurred as it did. Just attacking the capitol is an insurrection.... the fact that it was done so in an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power as directed by the recently deposed chief executive is indefensibly an insurrection.
-
Anybody that claims what happened at the capital wasn’t an insurrection is equally stupid as the people who claimed that the riots after George Floyd’s death were “mostly peaceful protests.”
-
You’re right. The fact that the crowd went down to the Capitol on the orders of the person that lost the election at the exact moment that the “traitor” Mike Pence was about to certify the results of the election itself is irrelevant. The fact that they breached security and bumrushed the chambers is no big deal. The fact that the certification was actually delayed while the “Patriots” ransacked congressional offices is just like looting Foot Locker. It was just a “peaceful protest” exactly like burning a cop car in Saint Louis. People are so dumb sometimes.
-
Wrong. When they all showed up for speeches it was a rally. When they toted their signs down to the capital and yelled their frustrations it was a protest. When they started accessing restricted areas, fighting the cops, and breaking stuff it was a riot. When they breached our capitol building trying to intimidate/brutalize/kill congressmen/vp in order to prevent Joe Biden from becoming the next president it became an insurrection. That can’t be disputed by reasonable people. They brought along a gallows for Pence, for crying out loud. Our peaceful transfer of power has been in place for almost 250 years…. A shining example of how democracies are supposed to work. A bunch of numbskulled Trump loyalists are to blame for ruining that tradition. Not the Dims, Libtards, Dummiecrats, etc…. A bunch of Republican voters tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Those are facts.
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and state for the record that those people crawled through windows and broke down doors at the capitol with the express purpose of stopping the certification of the votes and the peaceful transfer of power. You can paint it any which way that you want to, but hollering at a Congressman during a press conference doesn't compare with what Trump's supporters did on 1/6. He's been impeached (for the second time) and people are being convicted for their actions on that date.
-
No, not an insurrection. That's when a mob overpowers barricades, attacks cops, breaks windows/doors to gain entry to our capital building in a failed attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of power to the rightful winner of an election. These guys are in the wrong, but can't be compared to the attempted coup on 1/6.
-
Is that right? I know a couple of people that still shoot dogs for showing up on their property... while it's a bad idea, I didn't realize that it was felonious. Nice use of that adjective, huh?

Question about lives and choices.
CardinalBacker replied to 5GallonBucket's topic in Political Forum
They blame it on poverty. Being broke leads to desperation... theft, drugs, etc.... But the sad thing that nobody can correlate is that democratic policies lead to poverty, not impoverished people decide to become democrats BECAUSE they're impoverished. Then you have the false narratives about policing that lead to even more crimes. It's a vicious cycle and I don't know what fixes it. But I'm confident that raising monthly stipends for inner city dwellers isn't the answer. Neither are "reparations." It's going to take strong leadership, and there's none of that present in the democratic led areas. From mayors to councilmen to school superintendents to state/house reps... they're all a bad joke. -
I'm completely distanced from the team at this point. It'll be interested to see how the season goes. I felt like anything less than 3rd last year would be considered a disappointment. I'm thinking that making the four team field for the playoffs should be a realistic goal if the coach is as good as advertised. It's gonna be interesting to watch.

Easy, sons… I think I’m the only BC fan here anymore. They’ll turn up if we start out winning a few, don’t worry. We’re dang near as bad as the L-train.

My man!!!!!

So what about Bridge City?

Ok… I’ll draw an analogy. Let’s pretend that I weigh 350 pounds. I never exercise and I eat complete garbage for every meal and snack non-stop. Then I walk around talking about how the reason I’m fat is because slaveowners gave the crappiest food to their slaves…. Even though I can’t tell you if my ancestors were slaves or not. THAT is exactly what CRT tries to do when blaming slavery from two centuries back for unrelated problems in 2021.
