  1. Like you've never had your anus massaged.....
  2. I agree with you. I think that a lot of times explosive young black qbs develop in systems that rely more on their athleticism instead of developing into prototypical “field generals.” It’s also a situation where a lot of white kids end up with private coaches, etc…. when compared to their black qbs. I also think it’s why so many black qbs end up being switched to other positions in college and even at the pro level… the raw athleticism gets them into the show even if the qb skills aren’t top level. You have to admit that guys like Brady and Eli didn’t have all of that success because of their athleticism. It was brain power and pretty good arms. I guess that’s the whole point that I’ve never been able to get across properly. Instead of worrying about what somebody is saying you can’t do, (black guys can’t play qb) why not take pride in what you can do? I had a black family member (by way of marriage) that came to one of the kid’s football games in Bridge City. He looked out at the field at all of our white boys and was like “who’s gonna run the ball?” It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.
  3. If you believe in success and achievement, you'd want the best person to win regardless of skin color. If you think a person's skin color matters more than results... you're a racist, regardless of which color you prefer.
  4. It just makes no sense to me.... These organizations sign all of these minority players to multimillion dollar contracts, but then they're all just a bunch of racists because the coach isn't black. Trust me... there are plenty of white dudes that would LOVE those player contracts. I guess the teams only want the best man for the spot when it comes to players, not to coaches and front office staff. But I'm also the first person to admit that any company that hires a black person wouldn't turn around and fire them just because they're black. It's just stupidity to even make the claim.
  5. For the same reason that the RBs are inordinately black. They choose the best man for the job.
  6. Oh, I wasn't speaking directly to you, but rather in general.
  7. No offense, but the last time I checked, no one is forced to suit up and play ball, and they dang sure aren't indentured servants. Unless you're willing to admit that 60% of those player spots belong to white people, then you should shut up about the color of the qb, coach, etc....
  8. That's my problem with the argument... How can one overlook the racial disparities for all of those multi-millionaire player positions to complain about a lack of diversity elsewhere?
  9. Warren Moon is an exceptional example of a pocket black guy.... The point is this.... Why is it racist to say "white guys make better quarterbacks" but nobody has a problem with "black dudes make better running backs?" My guess is that you don't have a problem with 95% of the rbs in the league being black. Just with the lack of black qbs. Unless you're willing to give 70% of the rb spots to white guys without further discussion, then you aren't being fair, equitable, just, etc, and your arguments about "diversity" are just thinly veiled racism.
  10. Meh.... they always called Clapton "slowhand." I'm not buying it.
  11. He sounds like a really good kid... you should be proud. Seriously, though... how does that feel when somebody insinuates that he just got that opportunity because of his skin color? Because that's exactly what you do every time you accuse somebody of benefitting from so-called "white privilege."
  12. Here's the problem as I see it. You don't seem to have a problem with the fact that most NFL players are are black. You have a problem that most qbs aren't black, too. That is a problem in an of itself. Why does it matter what color a player is? It seems like you'd want the best man on the field for your team. If Colin Kapernick had spent more time honing his craft and less time protesting, he might have had a longer career in the NFL. I might hurt your feelings here, but I think you need to understand. Black athletes tend to be more explosive. They excel in positions that require those abilities. There are outliers.... you end up with an occassional McCaffree or whoever. You could further ask how black athletes came about those genetics, and you'd probably get your feelings hurt because it was the result of some fine husbandry work that wrapped up in the US around 1865 or so. Since then it's just continued in areas where those genetics are still strong.... like out around places like Belgrade, Biloxi, Sandjack, etc.... if you know, you know. It's also not hard to recognize that most successful black qbs today aren't field generals... they're relying heavily on their athleticism. Deshaun Watson, Rodney Peete, Jameis Winston, Cam Newton, Lamar Jackson, etc.... they are guys that have tremendous athleticism, with a decent amount of critical thinking. On the other hand you have guys like Rogers, Brady, Steve Young, the Mannings, Aikman, etc who had good arms but nowhere near the athletic abilities of the first group that I mentioned... they got it done with brain power. The difference? The second group are world champions and future hall of famers, while the jury is still out on the first group. You can dig in and really do some analysis, or you could just complain that there aren't enough qbs "that look like me." Back to businesses.... there used to be a lot of businesses that wouldn't hire based on prejudices. The history is what the history is. The problem is that now people actually believe that they are OWED a position based on their skin color. That's literally doing the same thing. There's no difference between not giving somebody a chance for a job because they're black in 1957 and not giving somebody a chance for a job because they're white in 2021. No difference. It doesn't matter what you're trying to correct or rectify, wrong is wrong. Here's a scenario... sometimes we have a position to fill at my place of employment and we do our best to keep those positions under wraps because clients like to push us towards hiring people as a "favor." Daughters, sons, nieces, whatever... the problem is that once you hire this person, you can't run them off if you need to because all you'll do is anger the person who sent the sorry employee your way. We like to quietly find somebody who's a decent fit and go from there. Likewise, if you have to pick between two candidates (one being white and one being black), which one is more likely to sue you if you have to let them go? Do you owe it to the company to protect the bottom line? It's a situation where trying to fix obvious problems has just created more problems. It always amazes me.... somebody will sue a "racist" employer for firing them because they're black.... but I guess that they weren't too racist to hire you in the first place, huh? I really felt like we'd made a lot of progress up until 15 or so years ago, but now it seems like the animosity has gotten worse. It's nowhere near what it was in the 1960s, but definitely worse than I've seen in my lifetime and it's very unfortunate.
  13. It's bad, and only gonna get worse. It's the unavoidable consequence of dumping too much "free" money into the economy. The only way to slow it down is with higher interest rates, which can't be done now because a bump in the rates would bring about too large of an increase on the interest payments for the 28 Trillion dollars that we owe now. As costs continue to rise, demand will slump and we'll see stagflation. The government doesn't have any tools left in the box to fight it. I think we're in for perfect economic hurricane and those in power think that it's just a little breezy today. Lumber prices won't come back down this year and already demand is starting to taper off. I planned on building this year but have chosen to wait until prices settle.... I think you'll see more of this as time moves forward.
  14. C'mon... The Cosby Show, the show that had Erkel, 227, Jackee', the Fresh Prince, Good Times, The Jeffersons, have all been around for decades. I don't watch TV anymore, but I have caught an episode or two of Blackish and Empire. White History isn't "celebrated" every month... in fact, it's not celebrated at all. Your kid wasn't paying attention if that's all he learned about. All I have is my high school diploma and a junky ol' business degree from Lamar and I can tell you all about Frederick Douglass, the Tuskegee Airmen, Harriet Tubman, Booker T Washington, Plessy vs. Ferguson, Brown vs the Board of Education of Topeka, Martin Luther King, Jr, Thurgood Marshall, Jesse Jackson, Rosa Parks, etc, etc, etc.... stop pretending that black History has been somehow ignored. My problem is this... If you want to have a Congressional Black Caucus, go right ahead. But you can't be upset if somebody wants to have a group of White congressman. That's just an example, but it's representative of the problem as a whole. If somebody wants to form a black student union, it's all fine and dandy... but the instant that someone proposes a group to support white people, they're immediately branded as supremacists, white nationalists, racists, etc..... the double standard is appalling. The idea that it's okay to celebrate your heritage only if you're black is preposterous and will ultimately lead to worse relations between the races. I firmly believe that the constant demonization of the white segment of our society by the left is going to lead to results that none of us want. Serious question, though... how did your kid get into Baylor? I'd have liked to send mine, but it wasn't in the cards. You either a) have a lot more money than I do or b) have athletic gifts that enabled him to get an athletic scholarship or c) he's a preacher's kid or perhaps even got admission to fill some sort of quota based on his skin color. Either way, your kid got an opportunity that mine didn't. That's just how it goes, though.... I'm glad that your kid got that chance and I hope he's taken full advantage of it. Don't you think it's ironic that a kid who has had "privileges" that my kids didn't is still lying about how "he only learned about 3 black people in those traditional classes" as if he's somehow been oppressed?
  15. When a candidate for a job is given preference because of his race.... there is systemic racism. Unless we call it "affirmative action." You know, where two wrongs make a right. Or, if the Federal Government decides to disperse 25% of their PPP loans to farmers based on the borrower's skin color, despite that "color" of farmer making up only 1% of total farmers in the US... you have systemic racism. When people pay a federal tax for going to a tanning bed, they're experiencing "systemic" racism." Because there aren't a lot of browns/blacks paying that tax. There's plenty of racism to go around.
  16. I disagree with you. I believe that there is a privilege that exists by virtue of being white. Also by virtue of being Asian, Hispanic, African-American, or just about any other way we can choose to differentiate ourselves. If you really think that there's not a genetic component to the well-documented Asian intellect, you're kidding yourself. A large percentage of Asians and Hispanics also have the "privilege" of coming from a traditional nuclear family, believe it or not. Those two groups typically have a much better than average credit ratings as well... even better than whites on average. Don't even get me started on the physical gifts that seem to grace those of African American descent, or even the strongly held faith that seems to be present more often in the black community. But I do believe that white privilege, oppression, and systemic racism exist...and they account for about 2% of the problems facing the black community today... but that's all anybody wants to talk about.
  17. It’s all about what you want. If you want to watch Newton beat the crap out of teams you’ve never heard of, they’re a solid pick for an annual post season run. No food, though. At all. WOS is sparse on food as well, but always a playoff team. Silsbee has a consistently decent team, also, with marginally better chow. For the all around best package I’d pick PNG. Food is alright in mid county, the atmosphere is the best in the area hands-down, and you get one of the best rivalry games in the state with mid-county madness. Don’t let them lie about the stadiums. PNG’s top notch. HOWEVER, Bridge City can offer a stellar band performance, a statue commemorating our ‘66 State Championship, and a ceremonial flyover by the mosquito plane. Season tickets ARE still available, believe it or not.
  18. True story.... I worked with a guy in a past life that had been a supervisor at the Walls Unit and had oversaw a number of executions. We worked one Saturday together and he had tons of stories about the process and was completely opposed to Capital Punishment. I found that exceptionally interesting as he had perspective that few of us actually have. Years later my then-wife and I were watching a documentary and they interviewed a guy that had also had the same role here in Texas... his accounts and opinions very closely matched my friend's. I find myself being less of a supporter of the death penalty as I age. There are people who should no longer be allowed to walk among us, but I don't know if I believe that those people should be executed.
  19. Hmmmmmm…. I can’t think of a single one that I know personally, or even one that’s a famous celebrity or athlete or whatever. I know the one that Zztop sang about in “Mexican Blackbird,” but that’s about it.
  20. I could understand a manslaughter charge if the jury was convinced on causation. i have no doubt that Chauvin violated Mr Floyd’s Civil Rights. Nobody should die in America with a cop kneeling on their neck until long after they’ve gone on. It was barbaric and unnecessary.
  21. I don't think he'll waste his money after what big tech did to Parler. Those guys can absolutely silence but refusing to host your apps.
  22. I just ripped off Ben Shapiro (whose legal mind is way better than mine) AND the fact that the trial court initially threw out Murder 3 as it shouldn't apply in cases like this on face value before an appeals court judge ordered it back in. There has to be (in my mind) some ambiguity as to whether the charge applies or the trial court wouldn't have tossed it while leaving in Murder 2. But opinions are like b-holes.... I keep mine to myself.
  23. Really? It’s still kinda rare, though, right? True story… the kids came home from school talking about a kid that was at school there in BC that was white/black mixed. They were calling him a Halfrican. “You’d better not be calling him that.”
  24. Can you be more specific as to which area you'll be headed? 409 covers a lot of ground.
  25. The crazy thing is that nothing will happen to her. And she's without a doubt a racist herself.... but she gets a pass. When good people have enough of this, we're all going to regret these types of actions.
