Whatever Your Opinion Of Trump Is, This Is Hard To Disagree With!
CardinalBacker replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
No, actually the person who has 270 Electoral College Votes wins, not "whoever wins Ohio and Florida." Are you arguing that Trump got more of the popular vote than Biden? It's remarkable that fraud occurred in the two or three swing states that would flip the election. Isn't it crazy how zero fraud occurred in any state EXCEPT the ones that Trump needed to flip the thing? Lol. No fraud in the congressional races, either... just the presidential race. Crazy how that happened. Joebama might be pitiful, but he bounced Trumps toupee off of the headboard bigly. -
I'm telling you.... there are a large portion of church-going people that believe Trump was sent here by God to keep the forces of evil at bay. While "Sent by God" < "God," it's a subtle distinction. He is a god to a lot of Trump supporters like Reagan.

There were 213,313,508 eligible voters in 2008. There were 239,247,182 eligible voters in 2020. There were 26 million more people eligible to vote in 2020 than in 2008. NOBODY with an ounce of common sense would keep making the ridiculous accusation you making..... that Biden got 11 million more votes than Obama did 12 years ago and it's proof of fraud. In fact, Obama got fewer votes in 2012 than he did in 2008... Mostly because nobody cared about Mitt Romney. [Hidden Content] The election in 2020 had a fantastic turnout.... Even Trump got 6 million more votes in 2020 than he got in 2016. Is that fraud? No. Is it because he suddenly "won over" 6 million more voters? No. It's because the race was hotly contested and a lot of people who were uninterested in 2016 actually got out and voted for BOTH guys in 2020.... Biden just got more. Go worship that golden Trump statue some more. 1. He failed to "repeal and replace Obamacare" as promised. 2. Deficits and the debt ballooned under the Trump administration... even before Covid 3. Race relations are a disaster.... He is partially to blame for blowing the dog whistle over and over 4. He wasn't a good leader in regards to his responses to the unrest this past summer and to the pandemic 5. We lost both chambers of Congress and the WH on his watch. That's a lot of bad, no matter how big your Trump flag is. There are many things that he did well, too. I liked his pro-business and America first ideas. I'm all for tax cuts... just wish they'd been accompanied by some spending cuts as well. Nice work on the Supreme Court. But all positives aside, we're in a much worse place now than we were in 2016 in practically every area... financially, socially, politically, etc.... -

I’m guessing an amendment to the constitution. Not easy at all. I think that the 35 y/o limit we’ve already got is probably a pretty good idea, too. -

I still remember the repeated “I don’t recall” answer during the investigation into the Iran/Contra affair. He admitted his decline in 1994 (six years out of office) and died in 2004. -

I've had family members, friends, and co-workers all reach that "expiration point" at which they just aren't what they used to be-physically or mentally. Even if you believe that the Joe Biden of the 90s-'15 was a skilled politician, he's just not the same dude. Reagan wasn't the same in '88 that he was in '80, either. We didn't just become the greatest civilization in history by accident... it's generation after generation of achievement that got us here. It's sad that the younger guys see the whole system as somehow flawed and a failure, without considering that this is without a doubt the greatest place on earth, past or present. You can spout off all that you want about how this generation developed the smartphone and internet... I kind of think that history won't look back on it as our crowning achievement. If you had a snapshot of the world in the 40s and see where we are now, we got a whole lot of things right. My grandfather was born in 1903 and could remember the first time he ever saw an automobile. In his lifetime he watched space shuttles launched and landed, satellite tv, and a baseball game in the airconditioned astrodome. All we can say about this generation is that they've developed a means to blast their opinions an ideas at each other, and it's probably going to lead to the end of our civilization based on the events of the last few years. -

Well, it’s hard to say exactly when somebody’s abilities will start to decline... that’s a fact and facts don’t care about labels like “ageism.” Texas won’t allow a judge to run for office after their 72nd birthday. That should probably be about the same for the Presidency, don’t you think? -

I'm no doctor, but he's definitely got diminished capabilities at this point. Not being partisan, just giving my opinion. I've seen it with my parents, grandparents, and co-workers. At some point most of us start to slide, and I'm convinced that Biden isn't as sharp as he was a few years back. No shame in it, but time is a cruel B. -
That's a very good point.

I’m trying... it’s tough because I’m so conservative, and that flies in the face of pretty much every social and financial stance that is taken by the left. I’m in favor of smaller government, the second amendment, less regulation, Christian values, lower taxes, etc... Immigration reform. I can get behind that. It needs to be easier to gain your citizenship. We can’t “send them all home.” I’m not opposed to decriminalizing marijuana, either.

But it has to be balanced. The Bible also teaches us "for even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat" in @ Thessalonians 3:10. That totally flies in the face of the doctrine on the left that it's your right as an American to be provided with food, shelter, college education, a smart phone, healthcare and spending money. There are a lot of people who can't do for themselves.... but there are many, many more who chose NOT to do for themselves.... and it's no secret that most of them vote "D" because of the well-intentioned but misguided principles on the left. I hear people complaining all of the time.... "if a kid goes to school and can't afford lunch, they feed him/her a ham sandwich! Can you believe it? A HAM SANDWICH!!!" For the record, if I'm paying for my kids lunch he/she deserves to eat better. This whole "equality" horse crap should have been nipped in the bud a long time ago. Nobody owes you anything. Period. And if you have to eat a ham sandwich while my kid is eating something better... that's how it works in real life, and it's a lesson that you learned at an early age. I've said for a long time that if people heard their kids crying because they were hungry, there wouldn't be nearly as many kids living in poverty. We've made it too easy to suck on the teat. People don't believe in getting a better job and moving up the ladder... they believe in yelling until they get a bump in their foodstamps. That's focusing solely on one issue, but it's the same across the board. We've all heard about the ants and grasshoppers getting ready for winter. For some crazy reason, the Ds stopped examining things like work ethic and sound decision making and instead want to look solely at results based on skin color. If you are raised in a single parent household, your odds of being poor are very, very high. We also know that the rates of black kids born out of wedlock is astounding compared to other races.... but the left refuses to acknowledge the correlation and instead blame "systemic racism" and "oppression" for the plight of young black kids being raised by single moms (or grandmothers). Trust me.... white folks didn't coin the terms "baby mama" and "baby daddy," but the Ds won't acknowledge the correlations.

All kinds of stuff. 1. People migrating to California from around the US 2. People migrating to California from abroad. 3. Temperate Climate 4. People leaving CA to relocate throughout the US 5. Higher taxes drove people to leave 6. Intrusive Regulation pushed people to move elsewhere 7. High Crime pushed people who could leave to do so. 8. High real estate costs forced others to leave But I'm sure you're going to blame it all on Mexican Immigrants. -

It's the same thing you see on TexAgs.... the Trump honks scream and yell and anybody that doesn't subscribe to THEIR ideology is a snowflake, a Rino, a libtard, etc... I'm one of the most conservative people that exists, socially and financially. But since I won't chime in on "the election was stolen," I'm a lib. They haven't figured out that they won't ever win another election for anything without the moderates that they despise. As much as Trump drove people to vote Biden, you'd better believe that old white dudes with MAGA hats and Trump flags drove a lot of Biden voters to the polls, too. And how'd that work out for you, Red Kingdom? Lol. -
First, to take another whack at Trump for the benefit of your voters that hate him. Secondly, any congressman who didn’t vote to impeach or convict can now be painted as supportive of the actions that day in Washington. True or not, it paints Rs into a corner. That’s why McConnell took his swipe after the vote... “I voted against impeachment because it is unconstitutional... but he did it” more or less. I’m not too concerned because the people who voted for Biden because they were tired of Trump’s hateful mess will be just as turned off if Ds continue to beat that dead horse. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens from here. My guess is some type of action under the 14th to stop him from running again OR prosecution for his phone call in Georgia on 1/2/21. The Ds should be doing everything in their power to make sure he IS eligible to run again in 24 so that Ds can win again. Some people are too spiteful for their own good.
-
Lol.... There was never any doubt that he wasn’t going to be convicted. The republicans know that they will lose the support of the uneducated Trump voters like yourself. But he is the only President that has been impeached twice, and he got his cheeks clapped by Biden, so I guess NOT getting convicted when 57% of the Senate voted to convict Trump is vindication in his supporters’ eyes. #youcantfixstupid

You DO understand that population growth has nothing to do with the percentage of people that tuned in, right? There were millions more watching in 2021 than in 1969, Genius.... just the lowest percentage of viewers tuned in.
-
I dunno... I've got a LOT of friends who won't watch anymore because of the social justice protests. The NFL lost a bunch of diehard fans, and I don't think the soy-boys are deciding to tune in and replace the eyes lost. But make no mistake... there are a lot of hardheads that gave up on the NFL, NBA, MLB, and even Nascar.

If you don't like it, you've got nobody to blame but Trump himself. He's the one that turned a R majority in the House, Senate, and Presidency into the Dems holding all of the cards. It took Obama 8 years to accomplish what Trump did in four, lol.
