  1. It’s just too far gone at this point. I turn on CBS news a lot of mornings and I’d say that at least 2 thirds of their clips are race related. If it’s not the latest police shooting, it’s Meghan Markle vs the royals. If they’re talking about Covid, they’re talking about how it’s affecting people of color disproportionately. If they talk about the eviction moratorium, they have to mention that ending it will hurt more people of color. Stories about education always have to include a bit on inequity. I’m really getting to the point where I feel myself getting less sympathetic by the minute. I wonder if I’m the only person that feels that way?
  2. When the guy that was just kicking the lady in the head starts raising hell was my favorite part.... your judgment is very questionable, Pelè.
  3. Question... I believe that without the cellphone videos taken of the George Floyd incident, Chauvin wouldn't have been convicted, and possibly never even charged. Do you think that's a good or bad thing? Personally, I think that Chauvin shouldn't have gotten off scott-free. Somewhere between none of us knowing about the incident and "tonight, we have the latest on the trial of the police officer that killed George Floyd" is where the coverage and publicity should have been..... different?
  4. I feel sorry for everybody involved. It's big of you see things from a different perspective, though. Every shooting isn't justified, and every shooting isn't wrong, either.
  5. I'm sure that he, like most, had bad information when they started assassinating the character of this policeman. But, given the time and opportunity to make a correction, Lebron neither apologized to the officer he'd wronged or admitted that he'd made a mistake at all. Instead he gave this garbage... What's he still so angry about? What does he mean by "may justice prevail?" Instead of admitting that he messed up, he whines about "i was just angry and everybody else "used my words to create more racism." No Lebron, your words come from a place of racism. It's a good thing he can dribble a basketball... because otherwise he's just a piece of crap.
  6. We're ALL blaming the wrong people. If you don't believe that we're being sold a bill of goods by the media, check this out. [Hidden Content] Thirteen year old boy shot by police in Chicago. Barely a peep from the media and not a peep from the LeBrons and Ben Crumps of the world. [Hidden Content] Sixteen year old kid with an airsoft gun shot and killed by the police in Maryland. Why is there no coverage, outrage and protests? Both of these shootings happened during the last month. No outcry, no protest, nothing. The powers that be in the media and on the left don't want blacks and whites to get along, period. I guess the only question is whether or not the coming race war will be worth the votes, views, and likes for which they're pimping themselves.
  7. I finally got my first injection this week. Moderna. The shot itself was breeze. I actually had some soreness in that shoulder for a couple of days which surprised me. No howling at the moon yet.
  8. Here's the deal.... We live in a country that's forgotten that we are all responsible for our own actions. If you decide to jerk away from the cops and try to hop back in your car and flee (like the kid last week) and the cop accidentally pulls her pistol instead of her tazer... you asked for it. If you get high and try to pass fake bills, fight the cops, ingest mass amounts of drugs and don't make it home.... you asked for it. If you take a suspect down and kneel on him even though he's obviously in great distress (and ultimately died).... you asked for it. I don't feel that bad for Chauvin. I don't think that he actually committed murder, but I don't have a real problem with manslaughter... but when he made a conscious decision to stay there in spite of all common sense and the input from bystanders and his fellow officers, he put himself in the position to be judged by an unsympathetic jury. He asked for it. I do have a problem because it seems like we've reached a point in America where the lie about "unarmed young black men being slaughtered by racist cops" is now accepted as a fact. If you dare to point out the fact that it's a lie perpetrated by the media and those on the left for their own selfish purposes, you're a racist, too. They are literally calling for the cop in C-bus Ohio to be prosecuted for shooting the girl that was trying to stab another girl yesterday. "Kids have been having knife fights forever... that's no reason to kill her," etc... It's insane. I think that the people who are trying so hard to pit us against one another aren't going to like the unavoidable eventual results that will come from their actions.
  9. That's what happened this time... the ME did the autopsy, but then the private DR (who didn't even examine the body) came to his own conclusions which were supported by the prosecution. Have you ever seen a time when the prosecutor's office tried to discredit the ME and instead rely on the opinion of an "expert" hired by the family of the victim? His fees were paid out of that 27 million dollar settlement that was given to the family, I might add. Hardly a conflict there, lol.
  10. [Hidden Content] Just wait.... that cop is going to prison, too. If the mob has their way, I must add.
  11. If you've ever held a job, I'm sure that you've met people that you just didn't want to work with. They might be good at their job, but at the end of the day their attitude or personality just make them a bad fit. Elections are popularity contests. Being upset that your ugly candidate lost because nobody likes him but he did really, really good at the talent competition is a joke.
  12. I just can't help but laugh... "Dims worst nightmare?" It's a wet dream for Democrats everywhere. Trump gets beaten by literally any democrat. Any. Look at who beat him this time. It's completely obvious to anybody but the loyal Trump supporters. "Ok, he got trounced, then started an insurrection... He'll definitely get elected if he runs again. He's the Dims worst nightmare!" It's like the Dallas Cowboys fans talking about how they were about to win the Super Bowl with Quincy Carter at QB.
  13. When good people don't want to be cops anymore because of crap like this, who are gonna be cops? Asking for a violent drug dealing friend.
  14. Guilty on all three counts.... Don't let your kids become cops, lol.
  15. Probably. I just didn’t think I they’d agree on a charge.
  16. News says that the verdict will be read at 3:30 this afternoon. That's very interesting because I didn't think we'd see a unanimous verdict, much less a unanimous verdict this quickly. My gut instinct is that even if the jury feels that Chauvin is responsible for Floyd's death, they wouldn't be able to agree on which charge this quickly. It makes me think acquittal, but what do I know? Anybody else have any thoughts pre-announcement?
  17. And Trump will get his cheeks clapped again. There's a reason that 59% of Americans approve of Biden's performance so far... [Hidden Content] Trump is a jerk that is only liked by other jerks.
  18. I watched a decent breakdown of the charges the other day.... It went something like: First, the prosecution has to prove that Chauvin's actions directly led to Mr. Floyd's death. I'm not sure that's been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Then you get to the charges: 1. 2nd Degree Murder.... Chauvin would have had to unintentionally killed Floyd during the commission of another felony. There is no other felony.... he was using a restraint approved by his own department to restrain Floyd. 2. 3rd Degree Murder.... Chauvin would have to have act depraved indifference to others.... Think about somebody selling tainted drugs, dropping bricks off a bridge into traffic... no specific victim, but the suspect would have to have know his actions could harm others. Except in this instance, the victim was actually well known, and there's no indication that Chauvin or anybody else would have suspected that simply restraining Floyd would have led to his death. 3. 2nd Degree Manslaughter.... Would indicate gross negligence on Chauvin's part... but gross negligence doesn't exist unless Chauvin should have KNOWN that his behavior could lead to Floyd's death.... except nobody really believes that holding somebody down using a department approved restraint would lead to someone else's death. Literally.... thousands and thousands of people have been successfully restrained using this technique for years without injury... except this time the victim died and it was captured on video. The media isn't talking about it, either, but the defense played videotape of Floyd being arrested in 2019, and during that arrest Floyd ingested the drugs that he was holding. It creates a strong suspicion about whether or not he may have done something similar in 2020. I don't know what will happen. Since you have to have a unanimous verdict to convict or acquit, I suspect that we'll see a mistrial in a week or so. The more time passes, the less chance I think we'll see of having a verdict of either sort.
  19. She went to the area where they've been looting and rioting for a week and told them that if they don't like the verdict, they need to be even more confrontational (than the rioting that they've already been doing).
  20. I’ve been vocal about feeling that Trump was partially responsible for inciting the riot at the Capitol back in January. What Maxine Waters is doing here is wrong, too, and it has nothing to do with her race. The media should report anc condemn this behavior regardless of the party affiliation of the speaker.
  21. I can readily admit that system racism exists.... and it amounts for about 3% of the the problems facing African Americans today. Much like "Black Lives Matter" applies to the half dozen or so unarmed black men killed by police each year while ignoring the 7500 that are killed by other black people. People are so dumb.
  22. It’s just idiotic. If you’re in a car and think about fleeing, it’s like “get arrested or run... worst case scenario I get arrested if they catch me, right?” Except instead you catch a felony for fleeing and even worse if somebody gets hurt. The same mindset comes along with resisting. “Maybe I get away, but I was going to jail anyways. What do I have to lose.” There are cops that deserve to be punched... but understand that the consequences that come from fighting don’t just end with getting arrested. You might get your butt whipped. You might get in serious trouble if you actually injure the cop. Heck, he or she might shoot you, accidentally or not. There’s a mindset that goes “sure, I was breaking the law, but that cop wasn’t supposed to x,y, or z me... I know the rules.” Don’t put your life in somebody else’s hands by depending on their good judgement to save your life. It’s just dumb.
  23. Yes, but that's not based solely on race.
  24. Why wouldn't you resist if everybody from the Reverend to the Mayor to your teacher to you parents taught you that the system is racist?
