  1. When you can’t out-athlete the other team... gotta be racism.
  2. He didn’t even try. If you’ll remember, when our cities were burning, all Trump wanted to talk about was Joe Scarborough. It was just another opportunity to rise up and be a leader... an opportunity to gain some support from people who didn’t like him.... and he just mailed it in. [Hidden Content] This was during the middle of the violence after George Floyd’s death. [Hidden Content] Floyd died on 5/25... the officers were fired the 26th. They were arrested on 5/29, then charges were upgraded to 2nd degree murder on 6/3. Which coincidentally was the same day Trump was on Kilmeade talking about opening a cold case investigation against Joe Scarborough over an aide’s death back in 2001... a purely political threat against a media person who Trump felt had slighted him. While the country was on fire. At least I can admit the guy was a clown.
  3. I remember back when the federal government could force things like civil rights and integration. Now they can’t even protect our freedom to worship. Not this administration, anyways.
  4. Our debt and spending have been increasing throughout Trump’s administration. We got those tax cuts, but those spending cuts never happened. In fact, spending has increased. Heck, our trade deficit has worsened and there is more illegal immigration today than during Obama’s terms. “But he went up there and did everything he said he was gonna do!” Ummmmm, no. Heck, there are some states where you can’t even legally attend church anymore. Jeez. Some friend of the religious right.
  5. Lol. #1? By what metric? Exploration has stalled and oil price per barrel is atrocious. Oil is already hurting. Cant blame Biden for that, yet.
  6. Where did you get your Kubota? I went to Victoria to get mine, but I’m about a year out on buying a replacement. I’ve tried really hard to like Beaumont Tractor but I can’t.
  7. Help me out here. Unemployment is higher than when trump took office. Race relations are worse than when trump took office. The federal debt is way worse than when Trump took office. The deficit is higher this year than ever in our history. 300k people have died of Covid. More here than anywhere else in the world. 17% of restaurants have already gone out of business. Who knows how many small businesses and other retailers have gone under. Most of my friends that work in the oils field are idled. He even got impeached earlier this year. On the plus side, the Dow is at all time highs.... which is awesome if you still have a job and the ability to contribute. The undying loyalty is mind blowing.
  8. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but Trump has made it a point to viciously attack anybody in any position, from any party.... that's his bread and butter. Now he and his supporters are astounded to find him fresh out of friends. Why isn't the media reporting it? Well, Trump has been insulting, threatening, and personally attacking them since the mid-teens. Why would they want to help him? Why aren't Republicans standing up to help him? Oh, you mean the ones like Ted Cruz, whose wife Trump insulted? Or the ones like friends of the late John McCain, who was insulted and attacked in life and death by Trump? I can't BELIEVE that AZ wouldn't vote for Trump. Even if there WAS widespread fraud, nobody who he has attacked it going to help him... that's just common sense. Right now he's busy slamming every Republican leader in Georgia and retweeting threats to put them in jail. Personally threatening to "do things the hard way" because the Rs in Georgia wouldn't pretend along with him. It's madness, and just more proof that the right guy got elected.
  9. Isn't it crazy how nobody can believe that Biden got 80 million votes, but readily accept Trump's mysterious additional accumulation of 7 million additional votes? Can anybody name a single person that voted Trump in '20 that didn't vote for him in 2016? If you ask me, the Rs are just mad that they didn't cheat hard enough.
  10. I'm all for having your thumb dyed purple when you've voted like they do in all of those countries that are trying democracy out for the first time. I think the mail-in balloting has to be greatly restrained. It's bonkers to just send ballots out to everybody through the mail. It'll be interesting to see if the Democrats want to keep up that practice considering that it only happened this time "because of the pandemic." Here's the other option. If you can't beat them, join them. Why not have 176 million Republican votes in the Georgia Senate race next month? Maybe then the people that scream the loudest about the sanctity of the right to vote will actually be forced to admit that having your vote diluted by bad votes isn't okay, and agree to help protect the integrity of the voting process. We're way too far advanced as a civilization to have the integrity of elections called into question because the opportunities to cheat are getting greater, not smaller based on practices in some states. It's also fair to acknowledge that some people on the right would still love to see more barriers to people who do have the right to vote. I was surprised to recognize this a while back.
  11. No, just as it takes competitiveness to be a great athlete, a politician has to have a substantial ego and drive to excel. You have to be power-hungry if you’re going to make it in the political arena. I just don’t think we’ve ever seen it this nakedly presented. Everything from the model wives to the gold fixtures to the constant attention paid to advancing the Trump brand. It’s just too much for a decent person to stomach.
  12. For starters, our population has grown. Practically every election has had a larger number of voters than previously. I completely understand that you get warm and fuzzy feelings over Trump. Most Americans don’t feel that way. In fact, there’s not middle of the road. Some people love Trump, but most people hate him. It’s not at all surprising to think that only 65 million people came out and voted against Mitt Romney, but 81 million turned out to vote against Trump. Not surprising at all. I personally know of too many people who refused to vote for him as a matter of principle. Even at the bitter end when he was acting like a petulant child at the first debate and skipped the second... he literally did this to himself, but he (and his diehard supporters) are incapable of recognizing that fact. I was bummed out that Biden won, but all of the “fraud” clowns are honestly making me think that the right guy won. And I’m a life-long conservative.
  13. So let me get this straight.. the team gets penalized the first time this kid gets out of line, then penalized more harshly the second time, but the third time the team gets a pass because.... the team got penalized the second time? I'm still confused. The fact that the kid wasn't going to be permitted to play any longer doesn't make a difference. He was still on the field attacking people. Wearing a uniform. Here's what the Good Book says about it. [Hidden Content] 44. 9-2-6-a, b & c. Disqualified Players a. Any coach, player, or identified squad member in uniform who commits two unsportsmanlike conduct fouls in the same game shall be disqualified. b. A player disqualified from the game must leave the playing enclosure under team supervision within a reasonable amount of time after his disqualification. He must remain out of view of the field of play under team supervision for the duration of the game. If the UIL can say what the kid is supposed to be doing (under team supervision, in this case), then he's still a part of the team, and subject to additional penalties for himself and the team. And it sounds like the team wasn't doing a very good job of supervising him post-disqualification... and that in and of itself would justify further TEAM punishment.
  14. From 2010 to 2017, every single Republican that ran for public office (President all of the way down to dog catcher) PROMISED us that their first order of business would be to repeal and replace Obamacare with something better. For 6+ years, every single one of them promised to do away with it.... Even your Messiah Trump. The Rs held all three branches and with an overwhelming and unstoppable majority, they didn't. Period. My healthcare premiums, deductibles, and copays have done nothing but continued to rise in the meantime. Every time that someone repeats a baseless claim about "voting irregularities" or "fraud" or "Dominion" or "improprieties," they're not doing anything except making reasonable people who lean conservative look bad. Trust me. The Repubs just got slammed in the popular vote, so they follow it up by behaving in a manner that guarantees that no that voted Biden will ever consider voting with this bunch of sore losers in the future. You haven't figured out that Donald Trump isn't for Christian values, conservatism, or even America. He's out for Donald Trump himself, period. His actions continue to prove what the other side has been saying all along. He's trash.
  15. He was still standing there wearing a uniform, wasn’t he? In your fairy land, his actions deserved a penalty the first time, a worse penalty the second time, but he gets a pass for anything he does subsequently? They should adopt that “plan” for everything. “Excuse me, sir, the reason I pulled you over is that you’re driving erratically, and now I detect the distinct odor of alcohol on your breath.” ”You’d better check your little computer there, officer! I’ve already gotten two DWIs... you can’t penalize me.” ”I beg your pardon, sir... I was unaware. Drive safe, now.”
  16. Women can be dishonest. Therefore my wife must be cheating on me. See how that went wrong? That's pretty much the logic that I'm hearing from everybody these days. How easily we forgive and forget that we're the party of Watergate, "read my lips.... no new taxes," Weapons of Mass Destruction, "We'll move immediately to remove/replace Obamacare" and then claim that the other guys are the dishonest ones.
  17. Lol... those kids didn't get punished, they just didn't get rewarded. Is it the whole team's fault when they put an ineligible player on the field? No, but the whole team forfeits. Just ask us... Our whole team lost a DC year before last in baseball because the coaches allowed a kid to play in JV and Varsity games. Was that just kids not being able to trust the people in charge to make good decisions? No, the TEAM broke the rules and paid a price. Ain't no difference here.
  18. I'm sure that there was fraud. There's fraud at some level in practically every election. It wasn't widespread enough to change the actual result as far as I can tell. Let's not forget that a 537 vote difference was adequate for Republicans in Florida back in 2000. Trump is down by thousands upon thousands of votes in a half dozen states and "conservatives" still won't admit that Trump got smoked. Period. Since this is a sports page, I'll use this analogy. There's holding on every single down in football if you care to look hard enough. Do you really want to be the guy screaming "they were holding! It cost us the game!" Especially when your team got beat by 3 touchdowns. It doesn't help that every whack-a-doodle that has a keyboard will fire off an imaginary account of "VOTER FRAUD" that get taken at face value, reposted, and defended by all of the rest of the whack-a-doodles. Just today I saw the same tweet posted on FB 4 different times where Jenna Ellis gave a big breakdown on how the Electoral College doesn't really matter and that the Senate can still elect Trump next month. Which was immediately followed up by Jenna Ellis herself retweeting with the disclaimer "THIS IS NOT MY STATEMENT." There's been so much BS slung around by Diehard Trumpers that even IF there were any credible instances of fraud, they've been invalidated by all of the false fraud claims that Trump supporters keep spewing on every platform that's out there.
  19. [Hidden Content] I'm telling you.... Trump is outright trying to make sure that Republicans lose their Senate races in Georgia.
  20. They didn't vote for Biden, they voted against Trump. Trump literally ran against himself and lost. I've been hearing for over a year about the silent majority that was gonna rise up. They did, and they overwhelmingly rejected Trump. I said before this all started that I expected to see stolen votes.... people who showed up to vote, except their vote had already been cast mail-in. That didn't happen. All we have is unsubstantiated report after unsubstantiated report.... with nary a single cell phone photo to verify any of it. Not a one. I wonder when (or if) diehard Trump supporters will realize that he single-handedly did what Democrats have been unable to do in something like a century and a half.... He destroyed the Republican Party. Even today he's doing everything in his power to make sure that Republicans don't win the two seats in Georgia. If Trump had conceded last month and just shut up, I feel like you'd have Georgia Democrats lulled to sleep, and Republicans anxious to get to the polls. Instead you have Trump insulting everybody in the state of Georgia for "costing" the election. Pushing all of these hare-brained theories that have zero credible evidence to support them. How many more times will we hear about the 136k votes that came in after midnight in MIchigan? Despite the fact that this particular anomaly was explained immediately? I guess people think if they repeat it often enough and loudly enough, it'll somehow become true. At this point the game is over, our team lost by 14, and six weeks after the championship game you guys are still wanting to look at kids' report cards to get the result overturned. That's literally where we are in America right now. And Trump is still a clown.
  21. Welp.... even McConnell just acknowledged that Biden is the President Elect.... can we all just move along now? I never thought that conservatives would be the worst losers in American History. At this point there's no difference between people decrying "fraud" and those girls in vagina hats screaming in the streets after the last inauguration.
  22. It's been happening for centuries... usually after the disease wipes out a measurable portion of the population, but who cares? Some people are just ignorant. If you're comfortable with a cook back there maskless, coughing all over your deep-fried whatever you eat before your maskless server comes out with your plate on a tray literally inches from her face during a pandemic, good for you. There will always be those jerks rubbing their runny nose with the back of their hand before they pick up the tongs at the salad bar... and you sound like one of those people.
  23. Well, I hope you like chronic lockdowns, uneducated kids, no live music, and not seeing your mom and dad, too.
  24. It's not so much about total prevention.... it's not a force field against the virus. The is thought that you SHOULDN'T get sick, and therefore you won't be transmitting it to others. If enough people aren't spreading it, the spread will pretty much grind to a halt. Think of all of those kids whose parents wont get them vaccinated now... Mumps, measles, polio, etc haven't made a big comeback because enough people ARE vaccinated that the thing just can't spread like wildfire. It's like the flu vaccine.... some people still get it after being vaccinated, but we don't have to lock the whole world down because it typically doesn't spread uncontrollably. I'm guessing that you'll hear stories of people who got vaccinated for covid and still caught it later, but those will be rare situations if enough people take the vaccine.
  25. An invitation to argue. I'm personally superior to any culture that believes a word's offensiveness can be judged by the color of the speaker's skin. It's like me dropping f-bombs all over the place but demanding that a virgin should lose his job for saying it because I'm offended that he/she has no idea what it really means. Your argument is literally that stupid.
