  1. From 2010 to 2017, every single Republican that ran for public office (President all of the way down to dog catcher) PROMISED us that their first order of business would be to repeal and replace Obamacare with something better. For 6+ years, every single one of them promised to do away with it.... Even your Messiah Trump. The Rs held all three branches and with an overwhelming and unstoppable majority, they didn't. Period. My healthcare premiums, deductibles, and copays have done nothing but continued to rise in the meantime. Every time that someone repeats a baseless claim about "voting irregularities" or "fraud" or "Dominion" or "improprieties," they're not doing anything except making reasonable people who lean conservative look bad. Trust me. The Repubs just got slammed in the popular vote, so they follow it up by behaving in a manner that guarantees that no that voted Biden will ever consider voting with this bunch of sore losers in the future. You haven't figured out that Donald Trump isn't for Christian values, conservatism, or even America. He's out for Donald Trump himself, period. His actions continue to prove what the other side has been saying all along. He's trash.
  2. He was still standing there wearing a uniform, wasn’t he? In your fairy land, his actions deserved a penalty the first time, a worse penalty the second time, but he gets a pass for anything he does subsequently? They should adopt that “plan” for everything. “Excuse me, sir, the reason I pulled you over is that you’re driving erratically, and now I detect the distinct odor of alcohol on your breath.” ”You’d better check your little computer there, officer! I’ve already gotten two DWIs... you can’t penalize me.” ”I beg your pardon, sir... I was unaware. Drive safe, now.”
  3. Women can be dishonest. Therefore my wife must be cheating on me. See how that went wrong? That's pretty much the logic that I'm hearing from everybody these days. How easily we forgive and forget that we're the party of Watergate, "read my lips.... no new taxes," Weapons of Mass Destruction, "We'll move immediately to remove/replace Obamacare" and then claim that the other guys are the dishonest ones.
  4. Lol... those kids didn't get punished, they just didn't get rewarded. Is it the whole team's fault when they put an ineligible player on the field? No, but the whole team forfeits. Just ask us... Our whole team lost a DC year before last in baseball because the coaches allowed a kid to play in JV and Varsity games. Was that just kids not being able to trust the people in charge to make good decisions? No, the TEAM broke the rules and paid a price. Ain't no difference here.
  5. I'm sure that there was fraud. There's fraud at some level in practically every election. It wasn't widespread enough to change the actual result as far as I can tell. Let's not forget that a 537 vote difference was adequate for Republicans in Florida back in 2000. Trump is down by thousands upon thousands of votes in a half dozen states and "conservatives" still won't admit that Trump got smoked. Period. Since this is a sports page, I'll use this analogy. There's holding on every single down in football if you care to look hard enough. Do you really want to be the guy screaming "they were holding! It cost us the game!" Especially when your team got beat by 3 touchdowns. It doesn't help that every whack-a-doodle that has a keyboard will fire off an imaginary account of "VOTER FRAUD" that get taken at face value, reposted, and defended by all of the rest of the whack-a-doodles. Just today I saw the same tweet posted on FB 4 different times where Jenna Ellis gave a big breakdown on how the Electoral College doesn't really matter and that the Senate can still elect Trump next month. Which was immediately followed up by Jenna Ellis herself retweeting with the disclaimer "THIS IS NOT MY STATEMENT." There's been so much BS slung around by Diehard Trumpers that even IF there were any credible instances of fraud, they've been invalidated by all of the false fraud claims that Trump supporters keep spewing on every platform that's out there.
  6. [Hidden Content] I'm telling you.... Trump is outright trying to make sure that Republicans lose their Senate races in Georgia.
  7. They didn't vote for Biden, they voted against Trump. Trump literally ran against himself and lost. I've been hearing for over a year about the silent majority that was gonna rise up. They did, and they overwhelmingly rejected Trump. I said before this all started that I expected to see stolen votes.... people who showed up to vote, except their vote had already been cast mail-in. That didn't happen. All we have is unsubstantiated report after unsubstantiated report.... with nary a single cell phone photo to verify any of it. Not a one. I wonder when (or if) diehard Trump supporters will realize that he single-handedly did what Democrats have been unable to do in something like a century and a half.... He destroyed the Republican Party. Even today he's doing everything in his power to make sure that Republicans don't win the two seats in Georgia. If Trump had conceded last month and just shut up, I feel like you'd have Georgia Democrats lulled to sleep, and Republicans anxious to get to the polls. Instead you have Trump insulting everybody in the state of Georgia for "costing" the election. Pushing all of these hare-brained theories that have zero credible evidence to support them. How many more times will we hear about the 136k votes that came in after midnight in MIchigan? Despite the fact that this particular anomaly was explained immediately? I guess people think if they repeat it often enough and loudly enough, it'll somehow become true. At this point the game is over, our team lost by 14, and six weeks after the championship game you guys are still wanting to look at kids' report cards to get the result overturned. That's literally where we are in America right now. And Trump is still a clown.
  8. Welp.... even McConnell just acknowledged that Biden is the President Elect.... can we all just move along now? I never thought that conservatives would be the worst losers in American History. At this point there's no difference between people decrying "fraud" and those girls in vagina hats screaming in the streets after the last inauguration.
  9. It's been happening for centuries... usually after the disease wipes out a measurable portion of the population, but who cares? Some people are just ignorant. If you're comfortable with a cook back there maskless, coughing all over your deep-fried whatever you eat before your maskless server comes out with your plate on a tray literally inches from her face during a pandemic, good for you. There will always be those jerks rubbing their runny nose with the back of their hand before they pick up the tongs at the salad bar... and you sound like one of those people.
  10. Well, I hope you like chronic lockdowns, uneducated kids, no live music, and not seeing your mom and dad, too.
  11. It's not so much about total prevention.... it's not a force field against the virus. The is thought that you SHOULDN'T get sick, and therefore you won't be transmitting it to others. If enough people aren't spreading it, the spread will pretty much grind to a halt. Think of all of those kids whose parents wont get them vaccinated now... Mumps, measles, polio, etc haven't made a big comeback because enough people ARE vaccinated that the thing just can't spread like wildfire. It's like the flu vaccine.... some people still get it after being vaccinated, but we don't have to lock the whole world down because it typically doesn't spread uncontrollably. I'm guessing that you'll hear stories of people who got vaccinated for covid and still caught it later, but those will be rare situations if enough people take the vaccine.
  12. An invitation to argue. I'm personally superior to any culture that believes a word's offensiveness can be judged by the color of the speaker's skin. It's like me dropping f-bombs all over the place but demanding that a virgin should lose his job for saying it because I'm offended that he/she has no idea what it really means. Your argument is literally that stupid.
  13. No, you're obligated to flee.... if you can't flee, then you need to comply.... and if the robber gets hurt, you're in trouble.
  14. Maybe at coaching, but that's a really broad statement. I mean, y'all did drop down and only manage fourth in your district. We dropped down and missed the playoffs... but then again, there aren't any teams like WOS or Silsbee in your district, so...... Maybe both of our coaches are "really good dudes." I say that we make that the new "code" for a crappy coach. "He's a really good dude."
  15. The writeup sounds so unbelievable that I really think it's probably just somebody's interpretation of the thought process behind her bill... I'd like verification before I jump too high, lol.
  16. Rep Terry Meza (D, Irving) filed HB196 that would criminalize a person's use of a firearm to protect themselves or their property. If the victim had an opportunity to flee (even from their own home) and did not, then they would be charged for injuring a would-be robber or assailant. That's not in dispute. I'm not sure if the "she said" portion is legit and I've been unable to verify it. Has anybody else seen this? In Texas, State Representative Terry Meza (D-Irving) has introduced HB196. Her bill would repeal the state's "castle doctrine." This doctrine allows a homeowner to use deadly force against an armed intruder who breaks into his home. SHE SAID: "I'm not saying that stealing is okay," Meza explained. "All I'm saying is that it doesn't warrant a death penalty. Thieves only carry weapons for self-protection and to provide the householder an incentive to cooperate. They just want to get their loot and get away. When the resident tries to resist is when people get hurt. If only one side is armed fewer people will be killed." Under the new law the homeowner's obligation is to flee the home at the first sign of intrusion. If fleeing is not possible he must cooperate with the intruder. But if violence breaks out it is the homeowner's responsibility to make sure no one gets hurt. The best way to achieve this is to use the minimum non-lethal force possible because intruders will be able to sue for any injuries they receive at the hands of the homeowner." "In most instances the thief needs the money more than the homeowner does," Meza reasoned. "The homeowner's insurance we reimburse his losses. On balance, the transfer of property is likely to lead to a more equitable distribution of wealth. If my bill can help make this transfer a peaceful one so much the better."
  17. I don't believe that. But I was incorrect. Mutes have only written it.
  18. People just need to be smarter. Wear a mask at the salad bar. Avoid close contact with as many people as you possibly can. Don't go to a funeral unless you're family or a pallbearer. Don't dance with anybody you don't live with. Don't put motel room tv remotes in your mouth. The simple stuff.
  19. It's all circular logic that gets people nowhere. Despite all of the explanations about "er" and "a," at the end of the day, it's only offensive when whitey says it. Nobody has big enough nuts to admit it. It's kinda like the old argument that abortion supporters bring up during abortion debates... Them: "But what about instances of rape and incest?" Me: "Ok, so you're willing to admit that in every instance EXCEPT rape and incest it should be illegal?" Them: "No, that's not what I'm saying." All of the arguments about "a" and "er" are just a smokescreen. White people should be punished if they've ever uttered the word that black people throw around every day. That's what they really believe. And it's why the use of the is still so effective on the playing field. Newsflash.... every single white person on the planet has said it at some point. Any white person that denies that fact is a liar, too. Fight me.
  20. So you have no problem with me (cis/hetero/white male) calling people the “a” version?
  21. Well, I believe that those white players we’re using the “a” version... so you are ok with that? I’m from Texas and I’m pretty sure that I’ve never pronounced the “g” sound at the end of any word that ends in “-ing.” You’re pretending that it’s somehow okay to call somebody a duckin’ idiot, but wrong to call them a ducking idiot, if you catch my drift.... While constantly using the term yourself and demanding that others to be punished for doing the same thing decades ago.
  22. Of course she thinks we should all stay home... her paycheck will keep rolling in regardless. Cut off her salary (since she's not working) and you'd be surprised how quickly her attitude would change.
  23. Shoot.... they need to hire the Football HC/AD from within and then go out and hire a state finalist baseball HC to be an assistant on the baseball team. That's how we roll.
  24. The debate is for another page, I know.... but if your kids use a word every day and then loses their crap when somebody else says it.... that's just poor upbringing on all sides of the table.
  25. The headline would be more accurate if it said “Team A allegedly calls Team B a name that Team B calls themselves all of the time. Riot ensued.” Here’s the deal... we all appreciate good trash talk. If there’s a magic word that causes your opponent to lose focus and possibly even cause them to hurt themselves (unsportsmanlikes, DQs, etc.), why wouldn’t you use it? It’s comical because it’s just a word and it has no power except the power that the “victim” gives the speaker. It’s a by product of teaching your kids that a word’s offensiveness can be determine by the color of the speaker’s skin. If the word was offensive, you’d be offended when ANYBODY used it.
