Third.... was he wearing a blue shirt? The actual first question should be what was the cause of death? But to answer your questions... Too much force and didn’t do everything to preserve life. That’s not second degree murder.
-
So let me get this straight. The knee they didn’t kill him is the reason that he’s dead?
-
Sigh... he wasn’t choked. No evidence of asphyxiation. You’re right. Four minutes without oxygen to the brain is a long time. The question is whether the lack of oxygen came from a choke (No evidence) or a cardiovascular incident caused by heart disease, hypertension, fentanyl intoxication, and stress (proof of all four present).
-
He tested positive for it postmortem. It’s in the final autopsy report released yesterday. They made it sound like it was already resolved, though, and the autopsy didn’t mention COVID contributing to his death.
-
Okay... by your logic if Mr Floyd ran from the scene and had a massive heart attack, the cops would still be responsible because Mr Floyd would still be alive if the police weren’t chasing him. Am I missing something? Something I watched earlier said that Chauvin wanted to hurt Mr Floyd. That’s true, in my opinion. There’s no other reason to stay on him like that. Chauvin was feeding off of the negative reactions from bystanders. I have a feeling that the cop would have gotten up sooner if bystanders weren’t telling him to... and that’s messed up. I also think that Chauvin believed that the knee wasn’t endangering Mr Floyd’s life. That confidence didn’t take into account the obvious reality that Mr Floyd was having a medical emergency.

First off, whether what you witnessed a murder is up for investigation, prosecution, and possibly conviction. To answer your question... if my grandfather is having a heart attack while being arrested, then no, being handcuffed and restrained didn’t kill Pop-pop. Did the police have an obligation to get off of his back and check on him? Absolutely. Do I feel like the officer’s behavior should result in criminal punishment? Certainly. Do I believe that the officer killed grandpa? Nope... because he didn’t. We live in an era where you can drive to the snow cone stand and tragically back over our own child with our own vehicle and sue Ford Motor Company.... we’ve become masters at assigning blame where none (or little) lies. How is Mr Crump going to be paid for his services? Did Mr Floyd’s family pay a hefty retainer to secure the services of the most prolific attorney representing the deceased and their families after these events? He doesn’t get paid unless the family gets paid. The police HAVE to be responsible or the family and the attorneys (and “independent” medical examiner) go home broke. I knew what Mr Crump and his hired ME were going to say before any evidence was released. I was just hoping they there would be some physical evidence to bolster their claims... but there hasn’t been. On the other hand, I feel like it’s the same thing that the first two prosecutors in the Arbery case in Georgia were doing, too.
-
It’s possible. It’s also possible that mr Floyd would have died regardless. We just don’t know based on the evidence provided.

I thought about becoming one when I was a kid, but I LOVED street racing too much... and I haven’t done that in years. But like you, I don’t think I could have survived in today’s world. I had lunch with two former LEOs in February (these are guys in their 50s) and both agreed that they would go to jail now if they policed the way that they did in the 80s and 90s. Things have changed, and they’ve gotten a lot better. The majority of teachers and nurses sign up because they want to help people. Same with cops. There are some bad apples who are in it for the power trip, though. What’s scary is that all of the drama going on these days isn’t scaring the power trippers from signing up, it’s preventing the ones that want to help for signing up. That just leaves you with the bad cops. I’ve got two sons that are in their early 20s, and I would strongly recommend to both of them to avoid police work because there’s no upside to the profession any more. Even though policing has gotten better, public perception has deteriorated to the point that LEOs are hated by half of the community.

Hey, I don’t think that you’re racist. I think that you’re wary. If I tune into Rush, Hannity, and Mark Levin all afternoon every day, I’m gonna end up believing that the sky is falling and a Democrat is responsible. I think that you’re a smart guy, and think that you believe in God’s plan of salvation. I also think that it’s possible that you or someone that you love has experienced the the type of racism that southeast Texas was famous for. But if I think that somebody mistakenly sees evil where it doesn’t exist, or at least not at the levels that “they” would have us believe, it’s my obligation to show them that things aren’t as bad as “they” say. I feel sympathy for you if you believe that what happened to Mr Floyd happens “just about everyday, every night.” Because it doesn’t.Please notice that everyone here has agreed that what happened to Mr Floyd shouldn’t happen to anyone.

Where we grew up you only needed the last four. 2868. That was in the 80s

Anybody wanting to dispute my assertion from a couple of weeks ago that we have violence problem in the black community?

Blue State Democrats Allow Carnage in the Streets!
CardinalBacker replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
The looters and rioters are criminals. Criminals don’t like cops. This dude was a cop. No protest forthcoming. You might see some “it was a white supremacist” or “it was an alt right member” deflections, but otherwise this black life didn’t matter. -
Ok... it looks like George was spreading more than the gospel. This year is so unbelievable.
-
Why would they arrest their own voters? And we all know that most God-fearing business owners don't vote Democrat.... Why would you vote for somebody who is opposed to your religious views and believes that your business success is inherently evil? These riots aren't a produce of overbearing policing... their a result of silly, new-wave progressive policing. It's kinda comical that the areas in which they have the most progressive policing policies are now experiencing the worst of the violent outbreaks. Coincidence? I think not.
-
To reiterate... Eff that cop. Nobody deserves to die with a cop standing on his neck. That cop should NOT have stayed up there any longer than it took to subdue Mr Floyd. Even if the cop was too stupid to know better, there were numerous people telling him that Mr Floyd’s condition was grave.... and he didn’t get up. Did the knee kill him? Not in my opinion based on the evidence. Negligence? Yes. Manslaughter? I’ve got no problem with that. Civil Rights Violation? Hell, yes!!!! Murder? Not as I see it. Just my opinion. Enjoy your evening, lads.

[Hidden Content] Fentanyl overdoses can be deadly, so it is vital that you call 911 right away if you suspect an overdose may have occurred. A person overdosing on fentanyl may present with the following overdose signs and symptoms 3, 4: Pinpoint pupils. Weak muscles. Dizziness. Confusion. Extreme sleepiness. Loss of consciousness. Profoundly slowed heart beat. Very low blood pressure. Dangerously slowed or stopped breathing. The effects that a fentanyl overdose have on the user’s heart rate and breathing present the biggest risk of death or permanent damage. Even if a user survives a fentanyl overdose, these side effects may leave a lasting mark on the user’s body if not treated immediately. For example, respiratory depression can lead to hypoxia, which can cause permanent brain damage in the suffering individual 5, 6. So, on the other hand, you can do research on blood chokes... “Blood chokes constrain or disrupt blood circulation to the brain. This is accomplished by compressing one or both of the carotid arteries and/or the jugular veins, ideally with little to no pressure applied to the airway. One theory on the mechanics of choke-outs claims that unconsciousness results from the direct constraint of blood flow to the brain, causing cerebral hypoxia.[1]“ So, the question of the day becomes whether the hypoxia that Dr Baden describes was caused by the knee (of which there is no damage that can be found, AND the mechanics of the “choke” make unlikely), or a direct result of the fentanyl intoxication as evidenced by the toxicology reports ....

Fentanyl and meth... your Daddy was right again. Now wash up, eat your supper, and go to your room, young man.

Well, there’s this.... [Hidden Content] /george-floyd-autopsy-michael-baden.amp.html “She noted that she did not have access to toxicology results, tissue samples or some organs. Those items are not likely to change the results, she said.“ “The private autopsy concluded that even without evidence of “traumatic” asphyxia, such as broken bones, the compression caused by the officers still led to Mr. Floyd’s death by depriving his brain of blood and oxygen and his lungs of air.“ “But Dr. Baden acknowledged that the pressure was not necessarily visible in the autopsy because by the time any doctors reviewed the body, the pressure had been released. He added that abrasions on the left side of Mr. Floyd’s face and shoulder showed how hard he was pressed against the pavement.“ Okay, Genius.... you have a medical professional who says “I don’t need to see the evidence like toxicology reports... my mind opinion won’t change.” Really? Let’s say that the victim had just munched down an 8-ball of uncut coke... “makes no difference to me.... the cop did it.” Okay, so upon what evidence do you base your finding of “asphyxiation?” “Well, there was invisible pressure, but we had no evidence because the cop moved his knee.” What? The good doctor DID find a bruise on the right side of Mr Floyd’s neck. Really? A bruise? Did you see the report issued today by the REAL Medical Examiner? Fentanyl and meth. But I’m sure that had nothing to do with anything.
-
One was backed with evidence (or lack thereof) and the other drew a conclusion based on emotion. Like I said.... he did an exam and found nothing... just like the first one. Only difference is that one based his opinion on an actual autopsy of Mr Floyd and the other analyzed a cell phone video to draw his conclusion. It sounds like you’re the one whose fairy tale came true today. In your own mind, anyways.
-
Here’s the difference. I welcome other perspectives. I would get a boner you could hang a five rail gate from if they’d come up with ANYTHING in the report that would contradict the one prepared by the actual ME up there. But they didn’t. The “best in the biz” couldn’t find a single thing with Mr Floyd laying right there in front of him. He had to look at the video and make an assumption based on nothing. He also claimed that Floyd died of asphyxiation, but then came back and described a blood choke-which wasn’t what happened. Dr Bader could have asked any 8 year old with a yellow belt in BJJ. Closing off ONE carotid won’t even make you dizzy. And if you close off both, you’re unconscious within seconds... less than 30. Blood choke didn’t happen. I knew his report was gonna be contradictory... I just wish it came with something more than just his purchased opinion.

The guy who was an ME for New York in '78 and '79 and gets hired by Ben Crump every single time one of these things happens? I would gladly consider any real evidence that he had exposed. But he brought nothing.... other than "we watched the video" and "I don't expect the toxicology reports to change my mind.
-
"Baden, who was New York's medical examiner in 1978 and 1979, had previously performed independent autopsies on Eric Garner, who was killed by a police officer in Staten Island, New York, in 2014 and Michael Brown, who was shot by officers in Ferguson, Missouri, that same year." Geez, I wonder what Ben Crump was paying him to say? Baden said Floyd was in good health before his death and said the video of his death showed the compression of his neck and back very clearly. Wilson said toxicology reports and other examinations are still ongoing and acknowledged that since they conducted a second autopsy, as the medical examiner had done one previously, they did not have access to Floyd's tissue samples in their original state. Secondly, they basically state that "we didn't get our results from the autopsy, but from watching the video."

I see what you did there....

I saw where JR Smith kicked the crap out of a guy that just knocked a window out of JR’s truck. I’m totally fine with that. Good for him. He posted a clip defending his actions and I’m like “who cares? You’re good, man...” Then he lets loose with the “M_____r F______g white boy” blast and I’m like.... “whoa.” If JJ Watt did the same thing to a black looter and said he’d done it to a “M______f F_______g black boy,” JJ Watt would never play another snap in the NFL. He’d be a racist. Anybody disagree?
