White people who have never lived with black people go to college and learn about it. Why do I suspect that you grew up in a lily-white environment and needed a draft-dodging prof at your liberal arts college to tell you “how it really is.”
-
Nobody is “forcing” black people to live anywhere. That’s a just not true. I know that you won’t accept the FACT that black people commit more violent crime in America in the current day. You’d rather talk about white history and how it’s not a black person’s fault that they commit so many violent acts. I feel you, though... there are so many kids that are living that life through no fault of their own. But renaming a park and throwing up a basketball hoop isn’t going to fix anything. We’ve tried that. “Community Outreach” plans are a joke, too. You just end up with more directors who end up enriching themselves and then going to prison, ala Walter Diggles from Jasper. This aren’t problems that you can fix by throwing money at them. My voice doesn’t matter, Pamfam.... they need to hear it from people like you, man.
-
The problem is that statistics prove that blacks ARE the most violent ethnic group in America and you still can’t even admit that, can you? It’s not just the blacks committing violence, it’s also the rest like you who refuse to condemn it for what it is... your silence makes you complicit. As far as the handouts go, it’s not just a black thing. I don’t know of a soul of any color that turned down their stimulus check... whether they’d lost any money due to COVID or not. But I do believe that the black community has been hit worse as a group by relying on the social safety net as a means of survival. Benefit programs were never intended to provide a middle-class lifestyle. We need to teach young people (but especially young people in poverty) that the three things to do that will virtually guarantee a successful life are 1. Finish school 2. Stay out of trouble 3. Wait until you’re married to have kids That’s it. It’s that easy for most people. The problem is that those lifestyle choices are made by kids, but the choices affect them (and their kids) for the rest of their lives.

I always assumed that the “chain gang” tag was a play on words... but specifically dealt with the defense not allowing the offense to “move the chains.” You just seem to lose a little bit of the history that came with decades of defensive dominance by unit after unit over there. You just expected a tough, nasty bunch working as a unit. It’s a title that those kids earned and it was respected. Even whenever players over there got in trouble, you never heard people like me saying “well, what do you expect from the chain gang?” The name just never had that kind of connotation for us. It’s just sad to see young people offended by things that have never occurred in their lifetimes. It’s all fun and games until the mob comes after something you care about. -

I’m gonna go out on a limb by myself and bet every dollar that I have and all I could borrow that the players aren’t the ones demanding the name change... Am I wrong? -

As a proud member of BLM, I applaud the end of this racist moniker. I also feel like those championship banners also harken back to a time when racism was rampant throughout southeast Texas, and they should be removed as well. ALSO, the Mustang is the name of a type of horse ridden by indigenous people (Indians/Native Americans) prior to the racist white people stole their land and banished them to eternal poverty on reservations. This also is blatant dog-whistle racism. We, BLM, also strongly object to the use of this mascot as it is both offensive to our Indigenous Brothers and horses in general. Finally, we object to the colors Silver and Blue. These are the colors of the Dallas Cowboys, and an obvious tribute to these white men who massacred our Indigenous Brothers and even went as far as sexually mutilating male cattle. This is offensive to our LGTBQ community. As such, the colors must be removed as well. -
Kountze is the sound it makes when you take a dump over the side of the Village Creek bridge.

When you realize that Bridge City used to be named "Prairie View," lol.... From Wiki The city was originally named Prairie View, as it was located on the coastal grasslands of the upper Texas coastline. But in 1938, the Port Arthur-Orange Bridge (now known as the Rainbow Bridge) was built, and the unincorporated area took on the name "Bridge City". Despite several previous attempts, the city did not incorporate until 1970.

BLM wants to tear down Jesus, too...

Well... once all images of Christ are gone, they'll need to make sure that all income into the church is taxed, as well as the property itself will no longer be tax exempt. Also, the Bible is to be banished for it's hate towards gays... you won't be allowed to preach from the word. In fact, that building itself was built by untaxed tithes, so between that and the history of sexual violence committed by clergy, they'll now be seizing your "just a church" and turning it into a community center. Because that's only fair. -
Thank you, sir. And I’m certain that wherever you are, you’re surrounded by like minds.

Unless there’s not a problem, so you create one just to be a part of the solution.

I was young not too long ago. Sounds like you’re still a few years away from realizing that you don’t know anything. That’s when you really start to learn. You seem like a bright kid. You’ll get there.

Go back and learn something. “The massacre began over Memorial Dayweekend after 19-year-old Dick Rowland, a black shoeshiner, was accused of assaulting Sarah Page, the 17-year-old white elevator operator of the nearby Drexel Building. He was taken into custody. After the arrest, rumors spread through the city that Dick Rowland was to be lynched. Upon hearing reports that a mob of hundreds of white men had gathered around the jail where Dick Rowland was being kept, a group of 75 black men, some of whom were armed, arrived at the jail with the intention of helping to ensure Dick Rowland would not be lynched. The sheriff persuaded the group of black men to leave the jail, assuring them that he had the situation under control. As the group of black men was leaving the premises, complying with the sheriff's request, a member of the mob of white men attempted to disarm one of the black men. A shot was fired, and then according to the reports of the sheriff, "all hell broke loose". At the end of the firefight, 12 people were killed: 10 white and 2 black.[19] As news of these deaths spread throughout the city, mob violence exploded.[2] As you can plainly read... the violence was started on a day in which 10 white people and 2 black people were killed. So this whole “it was a racist massacre” leaves out the part that should include “that black people instigated.” Are you seeing any parallels in 2020? You know, riots, looting, vandalism, attacks on white people? Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. You should really do some thinking.

Right. It’s just people looking for things to be offended by. We took senior pics for the kids in Weiss Park under the Oaks a few years ago. I was less bothered by the statue than I was by the homeless hanging around openly smoking dope and the discarded needles on the ground. First things first, though, I guess.... gotta get that old statue out of there. -

Hey PAMFAM10... Somebody posted this elsewhere and I thought of you. “You do realize that slavery or not, even the poorest, most “oppressed” black person in America is better off than ANY black person living in Africa right now, right?”
-
But y’all are okay with it. When over 7400 black people were murdered in 2018, and you riot over the 9 (nine) unarmed blacks killed by cops, then YES, you are okay with the other 7400+ that you didn’t get upset over. 14000 total people were killed that year, and 7400+were black. Over 50 percent of murder victims in the US that year were black, despite the fact that blacks make up 13% of the total population. And you don’t care. None of you do. You’re mad at the cops.

Meh.... it says fashioned like a noose. I have a goofy knot on my attic ladder that’s fashioned to shorten the pull rope so it’s not hanging down in my face. I suspect somebody coiled and looped the pull rope. I sincerely doubt that anybody knows how to fashion the 13 coils that even the Boy Scouts won’t teach. I was torn between racist tire changer or sympathetic hoaxer. Glad it was neither. -
[Hidden Content] If riots, violence, and vandalism aren't enough to convince you that BLM and every single person that supports the movement is a racist, anti-Christian, member of a terrorist organization... you need to open your eyes. If you don't have a problem with tearing down confederate statutes.... and then you don't have a problem with tearing down any statue from before confederate times (Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, etc...)... then maybe you might get concerned if they are offended by your church and want to tear that down, too? If you still can't denounce Black Lives Matter, then you're no better than a Klansman.
-
The difference is that we're not looting target and beating up black bystanders. But you can't comprehend the subtle differences.
-
So you wouldn't be concerned if somebody got up and said the complete opposite of what she's claiming?

I thought about that... probably makes more sense to list them and make it shareable on fb, with links to the advertisers’ fb pages.

I sent them an email.... I’m not going to watch their news programming as long as she’s employed.
