  1. It comes down to accountability. We did our best to make our kids accountable for their actions. Accountable to us and accountable to themselves. That’s the whole problem with the agenda that’s being pushed today... they don’t hold themselves accountable for their own actions. Poor? It’s not that you just make bad decisions when your money.... it’s “inequality.” Have a criminal record? It’s not that you commit crimes... the system is racist. No diploma? It’s not the fact that you dropped out, it’s a bad educational system. $100k in college debt? Not your fault, either. Keep making good decisions and things should start to go your way. Stand around and point at the inequalities which are a fact of life and you’ll never get out of the blocks.
  2. This is the reason that I keep saying “no, they don’t” when people say black lives matter. If you believe that racist cops are the reason it’s not safe to be black in America, you’re a fool. Try being black in Chicago.
  3. That’s rough, and I’m sure it happens even today. Do you ever wonder if kids today are learning to dislike people because of the images on our screens? Would a young White kid not be frightened after seeing images of black mobs pulling white drivers out of their cars and beating them? 99.9% of the young people out painting “F___ 12” and “ABAC” have never experienced bad treatment by the police. Somebody taught them to hate.
  4. I saw that.... I haven’t taken time to look, but I’ll bet his group is made up of himself and one sidekick. I spoke with one person (now deceased) twenty years ago that claimed membership in his past. He wasn’t active at the time. He was actually from West Texas (transplanted here) and his problem was with Hispanics, not so much blacks. Former DPS Officer, too. He’d be way up in his eighties if he were still alive.
  5. The person calling everybody racist is the only one using slurs. Typical.
  6. They're going to do whatever makes the NFL money. Kap's not out of the league for protesting. He's out of the league for costing his team and other teams lots of money by protesting. That and being a mediocre quarterback. I think the NFL will stop having the National Anthem before games. Do they still have the rule about going to the ground in celebrations?
  7. My understanding is that Breonna Taylor and her new boyfriend were just regular citizens.... They weren't the target of the warrant. It's possible that the location was used for package exchange in the past or as a residence of the old boyfriend. Nobody is alleging any wrongdoing on part of the new boyfriend or the deceased. That's my understanding.
  8. We made the playoffs last year in D1. There’s no reason we don’t lock up the DC and go at least four rounds since we’re dropping to D2. [sarcasm]
  9. Throw the racial angle out for the purpose of discussion. The same thing happened a couple of years ago in Houston. A man and woman were both killed. It turned out that there was a clerical error on the warrant and the cops went to the wrong address. My understanding is that a typical search warrant is handled like the one in Goodfellas where they knock on the front door, show the warrant and proceed with a systematic search. No-knocks are authorizes in certain situations and it’s where they basically just blast your front door in and come on in.
  10. Breonna Taylor was killed in Louisville a couple of weeks ago. The facts are that the police were executing a no-knock warrant at her residence... upon entry Breonna's boyfriend shot a cop and the cops shot Breonna 8 times... she died. The left is painting this as a racial murder of an unarmed black person by police. Those supporting law enforcement are hiding behind the warrant. I really don't know how this should be handled. Horrible event, shouldn't have happened, etc.... But I support the right of the boyfriend to protect himself and his home if he thought he was being robbed. I also believe that the police have a right to defend themselves from gunfire. Apparently the ex-boyfriend of Ms. Taylor was the focus of the investigation and multiple locations were searched. It also looks like the ex was taken into custody prior to the shooting at the Taylor residence. The warrant alleges delivery of packages (drugs or money) at the Taylor residence in the past. I really don't have a clue on this one. It'd be interesting to hear the opinions of some of the LEOs here, as well as the opinions from countering views. I haven't noticed an overtly racial indication from anywhere on this one, other than the deceased being black. How do y'all feel about what happened to Breonna and who is at fault?
  11. The real life story of the kid who was the main character is pretty depressing. He messed up with drugs and did time for a murder, if my memory is correct.
  12. Does it really matter? Kountze could just have a walk-through that night and still lose.
  13. My favorite is how they speed around on their cellphone, talking on their cb and using their laptop... But God help me if I don’t use my hands-free device to talk on my phone. That’s a $200 fine.
  14. Your belief is deeply flawed. There were 14,000 murders in the US in 2018. 7,400 of those victims were black. Despite making up only 13% of the total population, over half of all murder victims were black. Read that again. And you’re arguing that it’s okay because they were mostly killed by black people?
  15. Somebody you know? Either way, I’m glad they had a good experience. Im glad they’re safe. From personal experience... I’ve noticed that the cops don’t give me nearly as much grief as I’ve gotten older. I think that some of it is that I’m not getting stopped as often and when I do get stopped it’s not for anything too major. Expired registration and stuff. I kinda wonder if it’s because I’m older than most of them now.
  16. Don’t lie... we know you’ll be elbowing your way to the front of the line if this starts catching on....
  17. Yeah... you don’t have to be very perceptive to see that what we have is unsustainable. I believe that the best days of the USA are behind us. It’s just a matter of how long we can keep the thing propped up.
  18. I’ve never had a problem with Kap’s cause... I just think that his method of protest brought so much negative attention to a worthy cause. Let’s pretend that some white dude supports Black Lives Matter. His method of protest is to put on a grass skirt and walk around in black face paint while speaking purely in Ebonics. The guy is sincere, though... he thinks he’s helping. Do you agree with his cause, or do you have a major problem with his delivery? I also understand that Kap works for an employer who may or may not want the negative attention brought on by his protest. You have a right to protest. You don’t have a right to do so on company time, especially when your employer starts losing money because of your actions. Let’s not forget that Kap had an offer to stay in San Fran that he declined and was about to be signed with Baltimore when his girlfriend started attacking Ravens ownership and Ray Lewis in the most vile of terms. Kap didn’t get offered by Baltimore. The NFL even held a private workout for Kap last year which he righteously screwed up. It’s time to ask ourselves is Kapernick really wants to play or if he’d rather be a social justice warrior. If he’d spent less time protesting and more time learning to read defenses he’d probably made a few more years in the league. I had an uncle one time that was an engineer when the Missouri Pacific. He was going something like three times the posted speed for a curve and turned the train over. He wore on of those turtle shells for about a year. Got himself a lawyer and sued the MoPac.... got a decent little settlement. The money started running out so he decided to hire in at some other railroad... shouldn’t be a problem with all of his experience, right? Wrong. Word gets around. He ended up running a barbecue stand until he died. In hindsight, he probably shouldn’t have screwed his employer. Whether the guy in the Kunta Kinte shirt wants to admit it or not, the reason that he has a loud voice is because of the “racist” nfl. That’s a fact. He’d just be another Antifa nut job if he hadn’t played a few seasons.
  19. Black men make up six percent of the population but commit 44% of the murders here... but THEIR lives are the ones in danger? Give me a break. Any which way you look at the actual statistics proves that the movement behind BLM is a lie. It’s bizzaro world.
  20. Yes, we are the least organized. Point me to a single group active in America whose purpose is to advance the cause of white people. Just one. You might find some goofballs promoting a racist/anti-semitic bunch of garbage, but they are roundly discredited by practically all white people, too. There is no group or voice for white people in America. That’s a fact. And that’s okay... we don’t need it. Or haven’t needed it. When a group stands up and alleges “white supremacy” or “white privilege” there’s not even a voice to dispute those allegations... because we don’t have one. I’m not sure what you mean by “least racial group.” I think you mean “least racist group,” and that’s not what I said. There’s no metric to measure the racist-ness of different groups. I will say this... Southeast Texas has long had a reputation for racism. There’s no disputing or denying that. Southeast Texas has a Republican State Rep from Tyler County. James White is a conservative leader who happens to be black. He also manages to get all of those “racists” to turn out and vote for him. If I’m not mistaken, he’s running unopposed this election cycle. How did all of those “racists” who hate people of color decide that THIS guy should be their representative in the state legislature? I’ll give you a hint... they didn’t have racist objections to his skin color in the first place. You said that you were at work last night. Would you lose your job if it was made public that you used the “n-word” in a text back in 2013? Because that’s the reality for every white person in America. That is a textbook version of systemic racism.
  21. Gimme a break. The klan is long gone. There is no organized violent racist group of any significance other than the AB/AN groups that are typically prison based. There aren’t even any non-violent “white” groups. There’s nothing that can compare to the NAACP, 100 Black Men, United Negro College Fund, Congressional Black Caucus, etc.... not a one. Nobody wants to admit it, but white people are the least organized along racial lines of any of the other races here. [Hidden Content] Of course the T is for Texas but it didn’t catch on until they started painting “PAT” on all of the buses.
  22. I don’t think it’s about a lack of footage.... I’m pretty sure that white on black mob violence just doesn’t happen here in the US. I’m confident that those things DID happen decades before I was born, though... prior to cameras. I’m curious... I’m in my late forties. How much younger are you?
  23. Let’s talk about experiences. Every time there’s a situation like this we see the rioting and looting. I’ve read about the Watts riots, Chicago riots, etc... I was a young man when the riots over Rodney King broke out. The riots in Baltimore over Freddie Gray, the unrest in New York over Michael Gardiner, it happens over and over again. BUT it also happens whenever there’s a natural disaster, a Republican gets elected President, etc.... So spare me righteous indignation as the cause for looting businesses. Buy on serious note, one thing that I’ve never seen. I know that we whites are the horrible racists that are the sole reason for every discomfort suffered by Black America. But why have I never seen a mob of White people dragging a black person from their car and beating them? We see the images over and over. Reginald Denny. That truck driver on the bridge in Minneapolis. The man with his family and their horses in the trailer in Oklahoma. “Get her!! She white!!” in Baltimore. Can somebody please explain why you never see the horrible white racists attacking black citizens in the street, but you can find as many clips as you’d care to find of black mobs attacking white people. Buy yet black people aren’t safe in America because of white racism. Can somebody help me understand? Just find me a single video clip of a black person being drug from a vehicle by a white mob. Please. Anybody?
  24. I thought OJ being found “not guilty” was more a reflection of his wealth (or “privilege” as we call it today) and being able to afford a fantastic legal defense. Too bad he was broke by the time he got in trouble again. True story.... the first time I ever heard “the n-word” was when that poodle-headed DA was talking to the cop. I was like “n-word? I know the a-word, a couple of b-words, the c-word that women HATE.... but the n-word? I’m confused.” I remember being amused by them trying to act like it was a big deal. I mean, just say it... everybody says it. This was long before anybody cared about “er” and “a” pronunciations. That’s how I know we’ve made a lot of progress. Minds like mine have been changed for the better. That’s not a word that I’ll utter anymore.
