  1. On a plus note, I saw where our Freshman Squad finished up the year as District Champs. Im gonna hold my celebrations down a little because our ‘16 Freshman Squad went undefeated.
  2. Yeah.... Nice record against weak competition. I'd be excited to see you guys make 3-4 rounds, but I don't think it happens this year.
  3. Somebody said we have to win by eleven to get in. Can anybody verify that? 1. It’s Senior Night 2. Them boys ain’t been playing on wet grass. 3. It’s a long bus ride from Splendora to Bc. Yellow Dawgs are hell on the legs. 4. It’s gonna be cold. 5. Splendora is in the playoffs regardless. I don’t know... I think we might be in for a little upset.
  4. Isn't that what LIvingston did four years ago? They didn't count their kids that were in alternative (disciplinary) setting and goofed everything up. Somebody with a better memory can feel free to correct me.
  5. That’s crazy... because I seem to notice a lot more graffiti when I drive around Nederland. And our schools are obviously much, much, nicer. I mean, that 156 million dollar bond will help, but y’all still won’t even be close. I guess the bigger question is why people are leaving Nederland while Orange County is growing? Lets not forget that Port Arthur used to be the jewel of southern Jefferson County... Nederland hasn’t ever even been the jewel of Mid County, lol.
  6. Yeah... the group that will most likely be affected will be young families with school-aged kids being priced out of the market. I can think of two life-long Bulldog families that have kids in Orangefield and BC now. You can buy more house for the money.
  7. As long as one of them burns down Jasper in the third round (assuming Jasper is still around) I'll be content.
  8. Well, I can’t speak for you all, but we’ve made dramatic improvements this year. Our winning percentage improved over last year (thanks, Imelda!), and our fans are still supporting our playoff boycott in its third year. Go Cards!!!
  9. They need a Art Briles type hire... somebody who can come in with assistant coaches that bring sons and nephews for the skill positions.
  10. Good Qbs aren’t developed by high school coaches. They have dads who groom them until they get to play for talented youth league coaches. Mix in heavy doses of private coaching, summer camps, and 7 on 7 and you could possibly end up with a decent high school qb. The days of the guy in Bike shorts with a clipboard, sunglasses, and a whistle noticing the tall sophomore tight end, plugging him in at qb, and collecting trophies are a myth. There are kids at Port Neches Elementary that just wrapped up STJFL and want nothing more than to be QB1 at PNG. There parents will give them everything that they need (except good genes, lol) to succeed as a qb one day. That doesn’t happen in BC, and it doesn’t happen in Lumberton. It’s no fun running draw plays out of the spread when your qb goes down and there is no decent backup. We’ve been there.
  11. This is probably gonna be correct, but we’ve got a week to go and if by some crazy chance BC beats Splendora next week, we take 4th and Splendora goes home, or am I missing something? Honest question... that puts us both at 2-3 with us having a tiebreaker, IMO.
  12. I just know that there were jugs on every restaurant counter in town trying to recover that 70 grrrrrrr for a couple of years. But i should have know that’s acceptable behavior up there, I guess.
  13. They’re in the right system for the personnel that y’all typically have. Y’all just need better execution and a community that buys in. Y’all should be ruling this district.
  14. Did you really just fire an “our marching band is better than yours” blast? Well, our band booster President isn’t in jail, so we’re still better than y’all there, too.
  15. Nah... we sat out last year so you guys would get a chance to finally make the first round.
  16. We’re made for late season heroics! You guys would be better suited to a seven game season. Luckily y’all never play in the post season.
  17. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but this win puts Splendora at 2-2 and BC at 1-3... with Splendora traveling to BC next week with the 4th playoff spot at stake?
  18. Man... I know you thought y’all had this one. Probably the Lions best chance to notch a “w” in district play this year. Now if you’ll pardon me as I join the Cardinal Faithful in a rousing chant of “We’re not the worst!!!!! We’re not the worst!!!!”
  19. Do you guys have anybody that you think would be in contention this year? I really haven't heard any names being thrown around.
  20. I'm gonna have to go with Silsbee in this one... it's a much improved HF squad, but I think Silsbee just has too many horses in the stable.
  21. Silsbee should sweep it this year. As is the case every year. If they don't, it was all a scam. PS... Jack Dallas deserved his WRS.
  22. To get run off? I don’t think it would take that long.
  23. BC went three rounds in 2016.... I don't count one-and-dones in the playoffs as success. We had a couple of good teams in the early teens that just didn't make noise in the playoffs. We caught then-powerhouse Coldspring in the first round a couple of times. One year we held them to seven points, but they held us to zero, lol. Tarver had some success in BC back in the early/mid 00's, too. I honestly don't know what, if anything BC is doing these days to improve the program. I moved out of the district and no longer have kids involved in the program. Don't tell these clowns, but I only went to three games last year and haven't been to a single one this year. When I say I'm out of touch, I mean that I'm out of touch. BC has plenty of decent athletes to be a good program (not state champion caliber, but good program) year in and year out. The community, administration, and kids are all okay with 1 win football seasons, though. It's a shame.
