  1. Track meets, football games, basketball games.... it just seems like it happens a lot when the Tigers are around. At least that’s what I’ve experienced. Legend has it that the basketball team got in a shoving match with some people when they were just visiting the state capitol a few years ago. It’s part of the atmosphere, and don’t let AAW fool you, they promote it. They even blast that song from Rocky III to let their fans know when it’s time to mix it up with somebody.
  2. Hell, I think they should have flipped for home and got it on in Dan R Hooks Memorial or Silsbee Ford's impound yard.
  3. You can tell me on Friday.
  4. WOS stands for We Own Silsbee.
  5. The Tigers won’t lose. They might get screwed out of a win, but they’ve never been beaten according to Tiger Fan.
  6. Boy.... PNG fan is awfully quiet for a team that's playing in the third round this week. I guess what they say about is really true... "it doesn't matter if we win or lose.... championships don't matter... as long as we beat Nederland."
  7. I can't imagine. So sorry.
  8. My favorite part is after trying to get the courts to force Dad to pretend his son is female, Mom follows up with "don't let the kids play Fortnight(sp)" Lady, you're worrying about the wrong crap,
  9. I kinda doubted that Jasper would beat WOS twice in one season. Then I saw the score from the game against Bellville... it's a little concerning. If Hunt is really not at 100% come Friday, I think WOS will win this one bigly.
  10. Sorry, Dawgs.... WOS is gonna roll.
  11. Preach, Brother... Preach.
  12. In watched QB1 on Netflix and they followed 3 top qb prospects during their senior years. It’s amazing to see talented kids who are actually being trained to be qbs. I’d love to see a progression of kids from BC that were capable of running our Slot T AND coordinating a passing attack... kinda like the Pleasant Grove team that beat WOS for the SC last year. If you go back and look at our team for the last few... Junior Shugart was the guy in 13... he was drafted by Boston last year. Great pitcher, qb as an afterthought. 14 saw Shugart sit out his senior year with a shoulder injury. Qb was sophomore Trahan until he was hurt at LCM... middle linebacker Dearing finished the season at qb. That was our last year in the spread. 15 saw Big Dubois under center, but without much of an arm. Strong runner, great game manager, though. Trahan was back at linebacker. 16 had Trahan back under center as a senior. He was a kid with limited ability and back at qb after playing D his junior year and missing most of his sophomore season in a different offense. 17 we got Little Dubois in his senior year and he wasn’t a passing threat, to put it nicely. I felt like Skinner was probably a better arm, but Dubois knew the offense. Skinner was back for his senior season in 18 and probably showed the best arm that we’ve seen in the last 5-6 years, but he didn’t have a supporting cast or any size. I’d lose my mind if we had a kid with a decent arm who (like Jake Frohm(sp)) had two older brothers also played quarterback... then got 2-3 seasons in the offense. I’d love to see kids who actually wanted to play qb at BC, and had folks that made sure that the kids were progressing like our pitchers progress. I’m guessing that Lum and LCM would benefit from the same.
  13. We beat Center in the first round in 16... Silsbee gave Carthage all that they wanted that year, too, if my memory is correct. Consistently, no. Lumberton is like a lot of other schools here. BC, LiCk’eM, etc... Kids aren’t groomed to be qbs, and it’s not a skillset you can start to develop once you actually start to get some attentive coaching in high school. Trust me... if Babin had a kid with an arm and an ability to read defenses, they’d be mixing in some passing plays.
  14. Go Tigers. I can’t believe I just said that.
  15. Well said. What a convincing argument. You convinced me, and probably everybody else here today. Thank you so much.
  16. What’d I miss? I was in the kitchen ironing my robe.
  17. I don’t expect Fairchief’s stock to go up once the qb moves on. It makes since to get out while the getting is good.
  18. Did T. Brown ever rejoin the team? No details needed.
  19. I don't think anybody knows much about the BC Cardinals right now... Other than the fact that we stink.
  20. It’s the truth. I was always a Lamar man first and foremost.
  21. Well, I guess the future might be a little brighter, lol. I stand corrected. Thanks.
  22. Nice job on the Lum win, btw. There comes a point in any matchup where you, as a player, come to grips with the fact that you either did (or didn’t) do everything that you could to be prepared. I think this entire season was one where the team knew in their hearts that they weren’t ready and they knew it. The only question is whether or not you get your you-know-what into the weight room and do something about it, or just put on your letterman and go drink beers. All kidding aside, I don’t know how much better we would have been with Dubois. We definitely were the opposite of “stacked” this year from an all-out athletic standpoint. Our team last year was hard-hit by injuries to key guys, and this year was just bad with no excuses we can point to. I’m just glad the whole thing is over.
  23. Dude... I’ve said it before. Year in and year out we have athletes who don’t play football. You can see them on the sidelines, throwing prettier spirals than than the actual quarterback. Or maybe, like this year, you see the o-line coach’s kid (who obviously has the build) just hanging out on the sidelines because “he wants to focus on baseball.” It’s a tradition at BC to NOT play, but still hang around on the sidelines. Our sophomore starting tailback from last year didn’t play this year. Which is a bit more honest than the typical “shoulder injuries” that keep kids off of the field their senior year... the good news is that the shoulders aren’t so bad that they can’t raise their arms to put on their old fb jerseys and go to the pep rallies with their “team” and chill on the sidelines during games. I mean, it’s not a sport for kids who are soft. I get it. But if you don’t want to play, stay off the flippin’ sidelines. Rumor has it that one of the reasons Dubois left was that he was into his second offseason program with a bunch of kids that wouldn’t show up to the weight room and so he moved on. You really can’t blame him. If Whataburger and weed are more important than winning, or even being as good as a player as you were 2 years ago, well... the team ends up 2-8. A complete and total lack of leadership on the team.
  24. Hell, I don’t know. That’s a lie... I do know. We stink. You can’t blame any particular person or group. It’s been a disaster from the coach all of the way down to the kids who don’t even play. Normally I’d say something about next year, but I honestly can’t see anything to look forward to.
  25. Nice to Lumberton making the playoffs... I think LiCk’eM missed the playoffs in their first season down in 4A
