Yeah... the whole thing was puzzling. We had a lot of key players playing both ways, but trying to run a hurry-up offense in the first half... then we started chewing clock once we got down by 20+. New strategy I guess. I think we can beat Livingston, but it’s a meaningless win. I don’t see us beating anybody else in the district, no offense. I mean that... we have no offense. We didn’t look this inept the first year we implemented the Slot T, and this is the fourth year in the system. Our first three drives resulted in a 3 and out and three fumbles. You’re not going to beat anybody if you tee them up like that. We played better in the second half, with the long drive and some better defensive efforts. Our secondary is...... not good defending the pass. We don’t tackle. It’s the smallest BC team I can remember in both size and numbers. And we’re having kind of season that leads to decreased future participation. It’s a sad time in Cardinal Country.

And ANOTHER personal.... thanks, Bears. That’s the only way we’re getting any first downs. -

3 card turnovers... down 19-0. Two other fumbles we recovered ourselves. And another personal foul on the bears. -
Pipe-fighter? I'm confused.

I'll take PNG in a close one.

No, but there will be an untested one.

Your mom had special needs AND still became a teacher? My hat's off to her. Although it kinda proves my point about teaching (and welding) both being jobs that anybody could do.
-
Well, you’re a welder so that explains a lot, too. Teachers are pretty much the professional, white collar version of welders. They cry a LOT about their chosen profession (like welders) and just like welders can never accept responsibility for welds that won’t pass inspection, teachers can’t accept responsibility for the pitiful educations that kids get today. I mean, “I’m a teacher! I have the most important job! I should be paid better!” So why can’t Johnny read, do simple math, and will probably end up as rig welder? ”It’s the parents’ fault!” scream all of the teachers together in unison. So get up in the morning and unroll those leads (unless it’s too muddy out there for you again tomorrow), start promising to drag up, put that stupid pie pan/hood over that ridiculous rebel flag welding cap you picked up at the Quikee Mart, and keep telling yourself that our economy would stop if it wasn’t for the job you do (that can be mastered by 10th graders (NOT the smart ones) in 2 six weeks of shop class. Doofus.

Those are like the pound-for-pound rankings in MMA. If you really think the 125lb fighter ranked #2 could beat the #5 ranked heavyweight that cuts weight to get down to 265 lbs, well.... you would probably think Newton could beat a top 6a school, too. The big school would be the bear and Newton would be rabbit in the old “do you have a problem with pooh sticking to your fur” story.
-
I like the way Newton could beat anybody, anywhere.... until they lose a game and it’s because they had to ride school buses to Dallas, or some other whack-a excuse.

It’s just not true, Homie. 7:30 to 3:30 is eight hours per day, INCLUDING your lunch and “conference period.” So a realistic 6-6.5 hours per day in front of my kid. That by itself is enough of a reason to reasonably assert that teachers should earn roughly 3/4 of a typical salary.... then you realize that teachers have MONTHS (Christmas break, winter break, spring break, summer break, and every other federal holiday) out of the year that they don’t even work. All jokes aside... if divide their annual salary by their actual hours worked, and the typical teacher is paid roughly $74/hour. And if teachers spend so much on school supplies, then why do I have to drop two bills every fall on hand sanitizer, Kleenex, and 8 different kinds of Crayons?
-
Teachers collectively overestimate the actual value of their profession. You work indoors, 7:30 to 3:30, M-F for 162 days per year... for full time pay. I'll start getting a lot more supportive when teachers work m-f, 8-5, with 2 weeks of vacation per year. Because that's an actual job. Teaching is a part-time babysitting gig... a VERY well paid one, I might add.

You can toss all of those stats. You had wet fields some weeks, injuries, etc.... I think you’ll see the Mustangs come out and play the best football that they’re capable of playing. You can almost always count on Silsbee laying an egg when they face the Stangs. I mean, everybody knows that WOS really stands for “We Own Silsbee.” -

My annual “I Hate to See Either One Win” Bowl. WOS at home and coming off of a lopsided loss to Jasper.... I think Silsbee finds a way to drop a winnable one. Give me the Stangs by more than we’d all expect. -

Boy, those WOS fans are starting to get salty, I’m noticing. My man CT has “rings for every finger” but coaching is the problem? Maybe y’all need to get together and work on some better collective excuses. Sounds kinda like the Stangs are only giving about 72% this year. Nobody’s honking about “we’ll be fine come playoff time” or “just wait until we get Cooper back.” Can I get an “It’s just the Mustang Way” for old times sake? -

Yeah, the qb didn’t let the Jasper RB roll up 350+ yards. Chain Gang’s lacking a little bit, too.
