  1. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...... Slot T!
  2. I re-rostered two team on NCAA 2k14 to identically match up player by player for both squads. Using both controllers myself, WOS won by 12 points in the second overtime. So there you have it.
  3. No way to tell... both teams were really special. I think Carthage would probably be the winner based on the tests that they face through the non-district, distict, and playoffs. Better facilities that could give an edge in game prep and treatment, their consistent play on turf, and just having more talented kids suited up. It would still be hard to count the Legend of Jack Dallas out, though. I’d be pulling for WOS, btw.
  4. I think Silsbee is really gonna benefit from dropping to 4AD2. Guaranteed ticket to the Regional Finals vs WOS in my opinion.... somebody correct me if #1 and #2 in a particular district face each other before the fourth round.
  5. All jokes aside, I’ll bet a home playoff game at the Reservation would be an experience that would beat the socks off any game played in a 1/4 filled Texan Drive Stadium.
  6. I appreciated the link provided. In fact, I thought Shapiro was particularly tactful by not even addressing the content in his post.... just a link. I don’t follow local news closely, so it’s doubtful that I would have ever known what happened had it not been for Shapiro’s posting. It seems like some people don’t like the message and feel like attacking the messenger. Honestly, if you haven’t talked with your young athlete about EXACTLY what happened to Blain, your missing a good opportunity.
  7. Probably Silsbee. PAM got a ring, too. WOS would be an honorable mention in an “off” year in which they came up short in the SC. Big Sandy would probably be on the short list, too.
  8. That’s a shame....
  9. “So, they loaded up the truck and they moved to Silsbeeeeeeeeeee.... Rocky tunes... selling cars.....The Beverly Silsbillies!!!!!!” Y’all come back now, ya heah? The only problem Silsbee Fan has right now is figuring out which two are gonna get screwed out of the Willie Ray Smith Award.
  10. Sam Bradford is the best qb in the world at seven man.
  11. Even Uncle Big Bad would be better.
  12. Yeah.... that’s a police dog.
  13. Who’s been acting as HC since Dubois started at HJ 5/1?
  14. It’s sad. Everybody loved Buckethead.
  15. “We had a much better team... they won the toss and chose a one game series. We just had one bad inning. Everybody knows the better team didn’t win....”
  16. Another DC and early exit. Oh, and this year it’s loaded bats (not bad calls) that sent us home early.
  17. Probably better question for you to be asking is why the schools that are predominantly football powerhouses also the worst performing academically? I mean, kids have no problems passing their classes and participating in sports, but they can’t pass the standardized testing... I, for one, believe that there is a genetic deficiency that leads to their failures, but rather a culture in those communities that do obviously supports their youth athletically, but fails them academically. Ozen.... stinks PAM.... couldn’t even win an outright DC against smaller teams Central... stinks. The U.... gonna stink Burkeville.... gawd bless em. Any of the Houston teams that make the playoffs with an 0-10 record. How do you explain the failures of these predominantly black schools? Not enough black kids, lol?
  18. Nah.... it’s just about what kids are interested in. I’m not trying to sound stereotypical, but it’s the same with boxing... white American kids have no interest in competing in the sweet science, track, or basketball. Black kids by and large aren’t interested in playing golf, hockey, or even baseball. Does this mean you can’t have a decent baseball team unless you have some white kids? It’s entirely possible that a group of kids with years of practice and good coaching will excel at whatever sport they choose. Why do white kids from Canada beat all of the crap out of white kids from America when it comes to hockey? I don’t remember who said it, but the old quote goes something like “if American kids gave a crap about hockey, nobody would know who Wayne Gretzky is.” We suck at Soccer... why is that? Is the whole world just better at it, or do or best athletes end up elsewhere? Your assertion that nobody will succeed in SETX in football without some black kids is just racist and backwards thinking.... and just like the guys that used to say you can’t win with a black qb.
  19. Nah... we’ve been down that road before.... Why do so many all-black teams suck, then?
  20. You have to look at the area.... most of the people that live in Batson don’t make $30k per year. They don’t see a problem with that kind of first year salary.
  21. Well, our 4-time all-state trombone player has more medals and ribbons, if that’s how you want to look at it. And you can’t say it’s not athletic because they get a half-credit of PE for the semester they do marching contests. The kid’s fast... possibly the fastest. He’s in the conversation for “greatest” from the area, but if you expect everybody to agree and annoit him as the GOAT, you’re going to be waiting forever. Different people have different definitions for what makes a person “the greatest.”
  22. I was kinda using him to illustrate that “greatest athlete” can obviously mean different things to different people. Some people would consider “the world’s strongest man” to be the best from the area... others would consider a kid like with accomplishments like JD to be the man. Other people obviously consider Barnes’ speed to make him the greatest.... some would give Barnes top billing because of the number of medals he’s won. It’s a subjective thing, and there aren’t any right or wrong answers. You can’t deny that he’s the fastest kid out of this area.
