It’s all in good fun, my man... I go to great lengths to make sure my trash talk is topical and relevant. Besides... Silsbee self-glossed themselves as Smoketown. It’s not some garbage I made up on my own. The Tigers will be back. It only takes two wins to get in and y’all shouldn’t have any problems with Cleveland. Huffman seems down this year, and we’re not exactly setting the world on fire. I don’t think the Tigers will have any problem getting motivated about facing us. Don’t sweat it.

I didn’t think Newton had a legitimate shot last year. This year I believe that they do. Now, it’s still kinda like the JV state championship, but a ring is a ring, I guess. I just had to throw that in there. Newton still sucks.

That’s gonna be one heck of a game. Lot of emotion, two awesome bands, the Red Sea will be in full effect because it’s homecoming. I’ll bet the bandwagon is boarding lots of passengers in LiCk ‘eM as we speak.

Some variation of the Wing T. Their QB is a decent runner. Their defense played pretty well between the tackles. Hey kept giving up big plays around the ends, though.

Not bad, really. They marched down the field in like a minute and twenty seconds and almost stopped our first drive. Big kids, decent at the skill positions. Their offense looked a lot like ours so their defense was ready for us for the most part. They always play us tough, though. They squeaked out a win over us in OT in 2014 and if I’m not mistaken it’s their only win in this district ever. They believe they can beat us so I think we always get a good effort out of them. Lot of size, decent speed...

We end up traveling an absurd distance to play "district rivals" like Navasota.

That's where are gonna benefit from playing Coach Smith's system... It's a lot easier to "next man up" than it is to replace a one trick pony. Silsbee will be fine.

Of course I still expect my Cards to repeat, but after them I see.... Silsbee Navasota Huffman LCM All jokes aside, the next two games (Cleveland then LCM) will absolutely tell the tale of our season. If we can’t handle both of those schools, we’ll miss the playoffs. We’ve got a long way to go, but our bye week was timed just right for us to get a little bit more healthy.
