  1. 21-7 BC after 25 returns a kick for TD BC is down but giving it hell. Proud of these kids for the effort tonight. Newton is Newton. Looking sharp on offense. Impressed with the Newton QB'a arm and legs.
  2. 21-0 Newton with 4:42 left in the half. BC playing decent d, then giving up the big plays. Offense is moving the ball but can't score.
  3. I think it's time to respectfully withdraw BC's multi-attack from consideration. Denton is done and Lara will miss several more weeks at least, and could possibly be done. Three other kids (second and third choices) who carry the ball are also out... one of those could return. I can't think of another team with five RBs injured going into the second game of the year.
  4. Good for y'all. Man, LCM17... I feel like, well, you this year. All of my Cardinal fans have disappeared. It's like the L-Train all over again.
  5. The first (and probably last) "Cardinalbacker's Kids Ain't Here" Bowl. I'd like to think D'ville based on having older/ more seasoned players, but I know what WOS's JV practices against. WOS takes this one, in my opinion.
  6. Unless they do something crazy with the classifications by moving the lines by a long shot, we'll stay D1. We keep growing just enough to stay where we are. Its also going to be interesting to see how kids temporarily displaced by the storm will affect the snapshot numbers.
  7. I hope not... we're already the smallest team in our 4A D1 District.
  8. They have to practice against our defense! Go Cards! Seriously, though... it's football and it happens. Unfortunately this year it's happening to us, and it's happening to some of our key players. I know a couple of them were missing from the pre-storm scrimmages. I'm not sure if the 2 weeks of missed practice has anything to do with the kids injured since the storm. I kinda doubt it because WOS had a similar layoff and hasn't experienced the same injury plague that we have.
  9. That's making the best out of a bad situation. I really think y'all got a good one in Coach Smith.
  10. One is adequate in my opinion. Nice work by Silsbee getting on this early.
  11. Silsbee ISD should probably get out in front of the UIL by handling the business in-house before the UIL can get very far into their investigation IMO.
  12. First, for the most part I haven't heard anybody debating about the kid, just his actions. I'll say the same thing that I said last year when Silsbee fans were upset about the sucker punch video going viral. If you don't want to end up on bleacherreport.com, don't do stupid crap in public. After the way that the admin at Silsbee stepped in last year, I'm confident that the issue will be addressed.
  13. 2015 I know went to BC in BC. Not 2014. Definitely not 2016. I don't know about the previous one. Sounds like you guys are off to a strong start this year.
  14. Y'all are obviously trying. That's all anybody can ask for.
  15. C'mon, man! Everybody knows we were #2 on your lil bro's list when he was trying to decide where to transfer to!
  16. Tough matchup for the Cards. I'm not sure what the timelines are for the return of Lara, E. Hamm, and others. The mosquitoes are not a problem this year, surprisingly. They even had a C-130 spraying for them last week. Go Cards!
  17. I remember the community turnout for the "No _____, No Tigers" Rally last year. So yeah, I think questioning if all of these instances are coincidental or rather indicate a problem with the culture over there is certainly not out of order. As far as being hypocritical goes, anybody who was watching during the baseball playoffs last season knows that a lot of the BC faithful didn't appreciate it when I called our fans our for our behavior.
