  1. Between the HC/AD and now this, I don't see how the super survives. What makes it even more ironic is I've got a friend over in Brazos County that swears something similar (rather than applying for other super jobs) is what got Wallis shown the door over there. My math says: 1. Newton's principal quit. 2. Burkeville's super is probably done 3. Kirbyville needing a new principal, assistant principal, and probably a super It's getting really late in the year to have that much turnover in such a relatively small area.
  2. That's interesting on a couple of different levels. I'm wondering if the secretary went to admin with a complaint OR if admin just chose to act now? It wouldn't be the first time a super tried to move a guy out so that he (the super) could hire a buddy or something. Why was the principal still on the payroll if "most locals even knew about it?" Messy, messy.
  3. And you have to give credit where credit is due... how about that kid from CS that took a un-called third strike, then drove in two runs to win the walk-off? That's stepping up under pressure. Oh, well..... it's time to get ready for two-a-days.
  4. New details out now... It's alleged that Principal Reeves was having an affair with this secretary. Statements given by admin indicate that the secretary gave details regarding the affair. The Super questioned the principal who denied the affair. The Super told the Principal that there would be an investigation and if it turned out that the affair HAD occurred, then he (Reeves) would be fired. If Reeves resigned, then there wouldn't be an investigation.... so Reeves drug up. If (and I have no idea if it's true) Reeves had a relationship with a subordinate, then the school was forced to act. It's really a shame if the allegations turn out to be true and the current admin was being vague in an effort to protect Mr. Reeves family (and legacy) and now they're force by "inquiring minds" to air a lot of Mr. Reeves dirty laundry. That's the whole problem with "dipping your pen in the company ink." Your indiscretion becomes the company's (or in this case, school) problem. They are the "deep pockets" that have to worry about litigation, sexual harrasment claims, etc, etc.....
  5. Hassling blue doesn't help your team. In fact, it hurts the team more often than not.
  6. There's nothing like hassling an ump to make sure that every other call goes against you. I've never understood that logic. Does anybody seriously believe that an ump hunches over behind the plate and says to himself, "you know, that fan that's screaming at me is right. I need to make whatever changes are necessary to make sure this contest is called fairly. In fact, I owe that fan a call or two to make up for my mistakes."
  7. There was no shove. He was more like an aggressive fist bump/high five that the ump wasn't expecting.
  8. Bridge City far exceeded all expectations for this season. Every team except one goes home heartbroken each year. BC fans have to be excited about the future with so many of these kids coming back. Great season, Cards!
  9. Do y'all need another mod? I've got time on my hands.
  10. How horrible. Prayers for our friends up there.
  11. It's not a "dream matchup," but it's way past time for BC and OF to start facing off in football again. Bring back the Bayou Bowl.
  12. Hey, now!!!! I actually laughed out loud.
  13. Ok... I'll jump in here. If you go back and read the initial Silsbee vs. BC thread, I said that I picked BC to win in three because our bats had recently gotten hot. Period. That was closely followed by a proud Silsbee fan/dad popping back that we haven't faced pitching yet... it escalated into board managers trying to bet me $500 on the series, etc... i was the ONLY person picking BC to win the series, and I was right. I'm a big guy.... I can take it, and I can dish it out. In fact, I enjoy it. If you don't like trash talk, don't start it. It's that easy. But you can't say "you haven't seen pitching (because you haven't faced MY boy) yet" and then gripe about "class" when it doesn't work out like you'd hoped. You can't challenge people to bets and then be mad because you lose and the other guy is taking a victory lap. But I agree. That did kinda get outta hand. Sorry for some of that.
