  1. Newton versus Silsbee..... my annual "I Hate to See Either One Win Bowl." I think it will be a close game with Silsbee coming out on top. Too many kids with too much talent IF they play disciplined football.
  2. Then there was this uncalled textbook pass interference that he got away with.... [Hidden Content]
  3. It was a garbage time personal foul... the play was over and Tony just lunged sideways and put a lick on the center who was standing there. The center then rag-dolled Tony with one hand. The penalties were offsetting, but then Sabah had a few words for Tony, after which seemed to be helmetlessly pleading innocence to nobody in particular.
  4. I had to wait until the final minute of the contest, but at the last moment Tony Brown swooped in and secured his spot in Saban's doghouse with another boneheaded move. So much talent. So little poise.
  5. I haven't heard for certain that even week 2 has been cancelled for BC, but I'm sure it will be. I still think week three in Newton is a possibility.
  6. I was watching that game and thinking..."high school?!!!!!!" Makes all of setx look lame by comparison. Size, speed, talent, facilities...... jeez.
  7. Lol. It looks like Dubois is sizing Dr Wallis up from behind that other BC kid's helmet.
  8. That's what I thought, too, but then again I don't think Neece would want to do that to his former players.
  9. I'm curious about how this one will turn out. On paper it should be close. LCM needs a respectable showing if they expect to contend for a playoff spot.
  10. As a general rule it's about getting your own kids out of the mix... not shoving somebody else's kids. Deleted by admin
  11. Newton should roll.
  12. I'm going with Kirbyville. They've got a Secret Weapon/12th Man/Dr. Wallis.
  13. I thought the same thing at first, but I think the Kirbyville kid is dark skinned and that's a white LEFT hand on the BC kid's throat.... knuckles facing the camera. I may have been watching too much CSI. Honestly, Dubois isn't going to say anything. He was all over our kids, and I doubt He would even recognize Dr. Wallis. I've also decided that from now on I shall capitalize all pronouns used when discussing our Coach.
  14. He's a menace. Lol. Honestly, it looks like somebody's white hand (his) is on the BC player's throat. I'm certain that the picture doesn't actually represent what was occurring, but that looks bad.
  15. Good Lord, I hope that's not true. Nobody tell Angel San Juan!!! It would be the lead story tomorrow evening... probably before the Harvey coverage.
  16. Sometimes I wish we would drop, but it's not going to happen unless they raise the lower limit a lot. I think we're officially the smallest school in our district. District champs, too.
  17. Have I missed where Lumberton will be dropping to 4A DI? The school and community are growing... I can't imagine their enrollment numbers dropping enough to move down, and I haven't read anywhere that the top limit of D1 would be moving up by much.
  18. Don't watch. You'll be singing it all day.
  19. I wonder if that's up or down for Kirbyville?
  20. Yeah... I'm not gonna lie. I felt bad for the K-ville kids last night. With all of the drama over the vice principal, coach Neece and much of his staff leaving, and a whole new scheme, it has to have been a rough few months. I wondered if a lot of kids had dropped out of the program. I thought the little scuffle was the best part of the evening for you guys... sometimes you just gotta let 'em know that you're not going down without a fight.
  21. Wow..... that's impressive. Really impressive. I know Newton fans are already planning on playing at Jerryworld... How did the Eagles look, Bearfan? Was the scrimmage as one-sided as the "score" would indicate?
  22. The rain held off long enough for us to host Kirbyville in a scrimmage. I thought that our defense looked solid. Our offense looked better than they did last week. If my count was correct, BC scored 4 times and Kirbyville didn't score. Things got a little chippy late in the "game," which is a little surprising for a scrimmage. The kids from Kirbyville never gave up... it just seems like the transition to the triple option is proving a little difficult for the Wildcats. Can anybody from K-ville tell me how y'all felt about the scrimmage, specifically how a Kirbyville fan would grade their progress so far? I know that the recent games (and scrimmage last year) have been competitive, even if BC came out on top. This year didn't seem very competitive, and I don't think it'd because we're that awesome.
  23. You're right. Even the experts agree that your schedule is tougher. We don't have to face Bridge City.
  24. So I guess you're saying that you don't expect to repeat last years 60-21 score because Shadow Creek is going to be so greatly improved? Like, such a great game that Silsbee might lose? It's hard to pretend they're a tough test when they haven't yet done a thing in their short existence. I mean, somebody has to be the worst team in 5A (and possibly soon 6A), right?
