Bridge City far exceeded all expectations for this season. Every team except one goes home heartbroken each year. BC fans have to be excited about the future with so many of these kids coming back. Great season, Cards!

Ok... I'll jump in here. If you go back and read the initial Silsbee vs. BC thread, I said that I picked BC to win in three because our bats had recently gotten hot. Period. That was closely followed by a proud Silsbee fan/dad popping back that we haven't faced pitching yet... it escalated into board managers trying to bet me $500 on the series, etc... i was the ONLY person picking BC to win the series, and I was right. I'm a big guy.... I can take it, and I can dish it out. In fact, I enjoy it. If you don't like trash talk, don't start it. It's that easy. But you can't say "you haven't seen pitching (because you haven't faced MY boy) yet" and then gripe about "class" when it doesn't work out like you'd hoped. You can't challenge people to bets and then be mad because you lose and the other guy is taking a victory lap. But I agree. That did kinda get outta hand. Sorry for some of that.

I went back and checked... 86% of the basketball posts this year were about Silsbee. And you and ST413 made the majority of those posts.

Nobody from 22-4a is posting on the basketball boards except Silsbee fans. It's okay, bro. Y'all emphasize basketball. You don't see us or LCM waving plaques we've won at band competitions in your face. And for what it's worth, more people attend band performances on Friday nights than basketball games.

No. Because nobody cares about basketball. Just like nobody cares about golf. Or tennis. Or the fishing team. "Oh, wait! A kid from Buna grew the state champion sow!" No one cares.

Are we blaming the kicker now? Y'all should have KILLED us based on all of the talent on that side of the field. Recruited talent like Tyler and Jones, Barnes (aka the fastest kid on the planet) A. Thomas, Newton, etc, etc, etc...... don't blame the kicker. Anyways, the horse has passed on so there's no reason for me to keep beating her. Like we beat Silsbee.

Here's the honest question. How does a football team stacked with recruiter D1 talent like Silsbee come down here and lose to a bunch of unathletic kids (2 of which got D3 schollys)? How does a #6 ranked baseball team like Silsbee come down here and get swept by a bunch of underclassmen? I'll be the first to admit that we don't have the quantity of outstanding athletes that Smoketown has. So why has Silsbee so woefully underperformed this year when facing the Cards? Is it coaching? Is it heart? Or do we just have the Tigers number?

I missed the part about your football SC. If you want to play the way-back-when game. We all agree that y'all are the Kountze of 22-4a without the rings.

Newton baseball won their first ever playoff baseball game this year. Think about that. They've never won a playoff baseball game, EVER. They don't care about baseball. So crowing at Newton about beating them in baseball is kinda like crowing at the rest of us about winning in basketball. Most 4A schools around here don't care about basketball. 22-4a very, VERY definitely cares about baseball. And we just sent the #6 ranked Silsbee Tigres home.
