  1. Sounds like somebunny is about to get a "for sale" sign on the front lawn.
  2. Whoa.... not many people still know about Redhorse.
  3. Can anybody think of a more poorly-handled coaching situation than this one?
  4. It sounds to me like the Super's handpicked successor to Barbray backed out. Had Jasper ISD posted the superintendent opening yet? My money says Hudson won't be in Jas-puh come next fall.
  5. He's going to go Fedora on them... and they deserve it.
  6. That's not true. Skuza was there for several years.
  7. If you'll remember, Coach Dubois stated that BC (his hometown) was the only job for which he'd leave HJ... now, I don't believe that to be true, but I am confident that he wasn't (and isn't) emailing his resume to every school in the state every spring. His interest in the position was a closely held secret up until his hiring was announced, also. There aren't annual press releases announcing "BC's Dubois finalist for Sabine Pass Head Coach" and "BC's Dubois to be announced as new HC/AD at Hemphill High School" only to have him show up year after year to coach my beloved Bridge City Tackle Football Cardinals. I'm serious. Drop by your HR department and let them know you're going to need the day off Tuesday for an interview. Better yet, do it a few times and see how well it works out for you.
  8. The point isn't being upset about TF applying for a better job.... he applied up and down, every spring. Let my my boss get wind of me interviewing all over the place and suddenly I'm kicking a can around in front of the unemployment office. How can a coach expect kids to buy in when he's already made it clear that he'd rather be ANYWHERE but where he is?
  9. I'm just saying... every year this guy would interview anywhere. Even 3A Woodville. Admin shouldn't support guys who have one foot out the door every spring.
  10. Man.... what can be said positively about a coach who spends all spring every year trying to find a new job. ANY job. Just another job. BISD shouldn't renew this guy.
  11. Stop blaming people for posting the clip. Everybody including the attacker is aware that every second of the action is recorded. If you like to see yourself in hudl or other highlight reels, you shouldn't complain when somebody posts something negative, either.
  12. "... go out and blast everyone you play. Beat the hell out of them." That's what got everybody suspended, Santa.
  13. Did you just call the kid a toilet?
  14. Nobody is upset about the the fight that happened... other than maybe the fact that it happens an awful lot when Silsbee faces anybody in any sport, pretty much. A fight is a fight. Suspensions were handed down. It is what it is. Running up the court to punch an unsuspecting player from behind, 50 feet from the actual fight is a completely different story. Since this kid's parents, team, and coaches have apparently not gotten that important lesson through to this young man, the duty to teach him this lesson has now fallen to school administration. If they are still unable to convince this young man of the error of his ways, I suspect that the next person that tries to teach young Mr. McCain this valuable lesson will be wearing a black robe. Will Silsbee rally to support this young man the next time he attacks someone? I guess it depends on whether or not he's still playing for the Tigers.
  15. Right. Because that's what you do when your team screws up. Throw a party? Nobody from BC was protesting or publicly defending our kids' action. And I might add that the act of posting an offensive meme is a far cry from the brutal assault we all watched #3 commit on his unsuspecting victim. The fact that the team is tweeting #nodevonnotigers and the community is rallying to support the team and their thuggish behaviors two days after a game was ended early after a brawl involving the whole team indicates to me that the problem at Silsbee at is not just "a kid making a bad decision," but rather another example of this particular community condoning terrible, and sometimes criminal behavior from its student ath-o-letes.
  16. Was he the super during the football/house party/cheerleader fiasco a few years back? Silsbee has a real opportunity to change the way they are perceived by folks outside of Silsbee. Coach Smith made major strides with the football team this year in curbing a lot of the BS that others think of when they think of Tiger football. I personally feel that Silsbee has been their own worst enemy when it comes to their lack of SCs when compared to the number of athletes they've had come through there over the years. I'd like to see this kid serve out his punishment, play his way back onto the team next year, and do nothing like this ever again. This could be the last time we hear about Silsbee being involved in a basketball, football, or track meet brawl. Or the super could cave to community pressure, reduce the punishment, and we'll all continue this conversation after the next time the Tigers make the evening news for doing something other towns wouldn't tolerate from their high school athletes.
  17. Drop by any Silsbee player's Twitter and see what the rally is for. Its all about support for the kid that is rightfully suspended for the year. Or, go back to last week when BC fans were complaining about the same kid cheap-shotting our kids (verified by AAW), and the same Silsbee fans were on the boards defending this kid's thuggish behavior... Maybe if some of the fans, coaches, or parents had stepped up and addressed this young man's behavior, he'd still be available for the playoffs. #nodevonnotigers pep rally to support the kid at the high school today at 5:30.
  18. We normally talk about the defendant's background during the punishment phase of a trial, after the defendant has been convicted of doing something EXACTLY LIKE WHAT #3 DID TUESDAY NIGHT. But keep defending him and his actions.
  19. Silsbee fan would just be right back in saying that the video doesn't show what else happened and that the BC kid deserved it.
  20. That's weird because all of the posts I see say it's in support of McCain. Or at least that's what the kids on Silsbee's team are tweeting.
  21. Right. Like our players vowing to sit out because the one kid was being punished? You gotta fight!!!!! For your right!!!!!!! To THUUUUGGGGG OUT!!!!!! #nodevonnotigers
  22. Do you remember the big rally BC had to support the team after the Twitter incident this fall? No. Because there wasn't one. Some things are just indefensible. #nodevonnotigers? This is a chance for Coach Smith and Silsbee ISD to change the widely-held PERCEPTION that Silsbee runs out of control programs where bad behaviors and actual crimes are overlooked like they have been in the past.
