  1. I just read through your pre-district.... Not too shabby.
  2. Kinda strange that we're playing in BC again this year. I'm not gonna let that get me down.
  3. It's hard to pick a "top 3." I don't think we're behind Huffman at all. I'd be surprised if LCM isn't playing up to their potential this year, too. If this is one of Livingston's "good" years, they'll be a force. And I hate to count Cleveland out of beating a few people and finishing in the fourth spot. A lot of people don't realize that Livingston and Cleveland go WAY back as a rivalry... That's a good game by itself. I'm not gonna lie... I think 10-4A D1 is the most exciting district in the area.
  4. You might ought to think about changing out that profile pic..... kinda living in the past these days.
  5. I don't know if anybody runs the table in this district... I wouldn't bet on Navasota going undefeated. I'll bet that Silsbee and Huffman are looking forward to their matchup with the Rattlers, just like we are.
  6. Everybody in our district played weak defense.... it was crazy. It's not obvious where our improvements on that side of the ball will come from. Prediction? We're going to win the district. That's why we're putting the hard work in now. We're going to play better ball than we did last year. Our core group on offense will be seniors, and we expect them to do a better job of executing the system. Some kids will have to really step up on the defensive side.... if that happens, we'll give anybody in the district fits. We need to hit the playoffs with a 1 or 2 seed. Our tradition of getting bounced in the first round ends this year. BC is going to hurt feelings in 2016. I hope you guys have things turned around for this season, too....
  7. Road trips. That's what they have coming up. Lots of highway miles. How are y'all looking going into next year? Another rebuilding year? Just looking at the teams you have to expect Silsbee, Navasota, BC, HH, and LCM to be playoff-quality in most years. Livingston is an up and down program, and Cleveland won't miss the playoffs every year. There's really not a perrenial dog in the bunch. I predict that there's going to be a really good team (or two) that don't even make the playoffs.
  8. The entire O line is coming back (bigger and better), plus the horse RB from last year. Most of the defensive line will return as well... The defense is going to decide how we do this year. How well the LBs and secondary progress is gonna be key. The defense struggled through district play last year, and our middle linebacker and heavy hitter safety are both graduating. The QB is graduating, but his little brother took all of the JV snaps this year and will start as a junior next year. He's the coach's younger son and has been playing in our system for years. We don't expect a letdown at QB, despite the change. We're excited and expecting big things from the team this year. This is the second offseason under Dubois' program, and we think if they continue to improve we'll play better ball then we did last year. One thing's for sure... we'll know a lot more about it after we play you guys and WOS.
  9. Week Four!!!! Are you ready, Newton fan? [Hidden Content]
  10. The results of splitting classifications are getting ridiculous. Navasota in the same district as BC and LCM? We'll have to drive past a ton of quality opponents to be able to play our "district games." But you have to admit, we play in one heck of a good district. HH, LCM, Silsbee, BC, Navasota, are usually good programs. If Livingston gets back on track you have six teams that would be a legitimate playoff quality teams in most districts.
  11. This has to be the biggest Colmesneil thread evah.
  12. "Y'all might have embarassed us and also won a state championship, but our quarterback can run faster..."
  13. All of this is speculation because we don't know which one of these QBs would have found a way to win if they had actually faced off in 2015. JD is the obvious choice.
  14. So Dontre deserves the trophy because the Silsbee defense stunk? Nice. How many games was JD unable to win? One. How many games was DT unable to win? Three. Who led their team to the State Championship? JD. I actually went to Silsbee's homecoming... I was there when Silsbee dropped that game to Huffman. JD's season didn't have a "Huffman game." The ONLY offensive starter that returned this year and then led his team to a State Championship. That's a stud QB. Sorry if maybe he doesn't run as fast as DT or jump as high as DT whatever, but there's no doubt that JD is the clear winner in this category. Now, if they had a "who got the most boneheaded unsportsmanlike conduct penalties award," we all agree that Silsbee would be the undisputed champion.
  15. Dontre's numbers need an asterisk when you consider how crappy defenses were in our district this year. Just saying.
  16. I heard they're going to replace the blinking light with an actual stoplight in 2019.
  17. That one place where you can get a Chicken Fried Steak...
  18. Here's the deal, my friend. I appreciate what you're saying. I understand that your life experiences helped to forge your opinions, and it sounds like you also got a healthy dose of "higher education" as it's commonly presented to impressionable youths these days. Understand this. Calling another person "privileged" is synonymous with calling yourself a victim. That's a fact.
  19. I just don't buy it. Sorry. We can do as much as we want as a society, but at some point it comes down to accountability on the part of a kid and his/her parents. I don't want to single schools out, but there are too many kids that go to Memorial, graduate, and move on to earn college degrees and become successful individuals to say that it can't be done. "The way you look at survival is completely different than the way a minority youth in a poverty stricken area does." Really? If a kid is being looked at by 6 colleges for his athletic abilities, then he has had more "privileges" than this unathletic white boy ever had. Stop making excuses. This kid's actions aren't any different than the actions of the kid from Dallas who tried to beg off of murder charges due to "affluenza." It's just kids making boneheaded decisions that cost someone else their life. It's ridiculous to blame somebody's wealth or poverty when it ultimately came down to a teenager making a bad decision.
  20. Musta gotten tired of getting thumped by Orangefield.
  21. I wonder how those cops knew Tony was from Ozen? Because I'm certain that's why Ozensfinest believes they were hassling Tony.
  22. Ozensfinest thinks that the Alabama student committee just had it out for Tony because he went to Ozen. Thousands of kids go play football on scholarships. Very, very few of the. Get arrested for fighting the cops 2 weeks after they show up on campus.... And that IS a big deal to everybody that DIDNT attend Ozen, FYI. Only one got sent home by his teammates before their Cotton Bowl this year. Question for Ozensfinest.... How many more of these incidents before you'll be able to admit that the kid seems to have decision-making problem?
  23. When you combine this event with his arrest right after arriving on campus, and it gets harder to keep giving TB benefit of the doubt. I cringed in the SEC Championship game when Saban was furiously going after TB on the sideline after he drew that penalty. There are too many blue chips trying to get on the team in Alabama for Saban to keep putting up with BS. Dont blow it, Tony Brown!
