I had strong reservations last time. I had some pretty big moral objections I had to overcome before filling in that blank, lol. IF I somehow have a moment of weakness in the booth this year, i don’t think I’ll make it public, lol.

He instigated the situation, created a hostile atmosphere, directed people down there, then claims innocence when all hell broke loose. If you spend a couple of weeks telling your simple-minded friends how crooked banks are… that they’re to blame for all of the problems that we face… that we need to do something about it… tell them to load up in a car, head down to the bank and say “y’all go in there and do what you need to do” and they pistol whip the security guard and stick a gun in the teller’s face before somebody gets killed while you’re sitting back at the hideout? It’s on you. You don’t get to say “there was no crime! The door was unlocked!” Charles Manson never killed anybody… so why did he die in prison?

We’re on the same page up until that last sentence. I also think that Rs who are trying to tie the attempt to the Ds are wasting precious time-most people see it like you do and the talk of a deep state conspiracy just turns them off.

Yup.... Their best argument against Biden was "he's too old." Now it's going to be used against Trump. He's what? 80? They can't gripe about her morals.... his are worse. I also think that his VP pick is going to come back to bite him. Not saying Vance is a bad guy, but he was a bone tossed specifically to MAGA- who were already in the bag. The only thing that I believe stops the train that rolled out on Sunday is a really bad VP pick for Kamala... she needs to do what Trump didn't and find a VP that complements her. An obvious "DEI type" choice from a very blue state could stall her momentum. My prediction is that Trump is gonna Trump and get super nasty.... which will delight his fans, but alienate the moderates who he really needs. Just remember in January that we had better choices... we just decided as a party that we'd rather lose with Trump than win.

Can we do an informal poll? Which is worse, in your own personal opinion(s)? A young single woman sleeping with her boss and eventually getting a promotion, or a married man leaving his wife and child at home to have sex with a porn star? It’s fun to watch the Rs scream about “Heels up Harris” when six weeks ago they were arguing that morals don’t matter because their guy was getting his extramarital affair with Stormy Daniels laid out in a courtroom. Fox News is CRYING this morning. No smiles anywhere. Harris has raised $100million now, and signed up 58,000 new volunteers. Fun math… since 2016, 21 million baby boomers have gone on to their heavenly rewards. There have also been 41 million Gen Z’ers who have become eligible to vote. The math is mathin’.

Abortion is such a hot topic…. You have people like yourself, then you have people on the other side who feel just as strongly about it being a right, and the end result is that they get a lot our votes based on that one issue. But it is interesting to remember that it truly is a key issue for a lot of Americans.

A couple of years ago I said “the day trump announces that he’s running in 24, it’s over… the Dems will walk back into the White House. Biden’s dain bramage was so bad that, for a moment there, it looked like Trump might actually have a chance. Between selecting Vance purely to please people who were already voting for Trump, Biden dropped out and it’s pretty much over, as I predicted. The Rs got what they wanted-Trump nominated. Trump just can’t win in November. It was so predictable if you understand the way most people hate Trump. Trump 2028!!!!

I suspected they didn’t want her, but the responses of the last two days make me think she’s been anointed by the Ds. Have you seen anybody stating that they’re going to challenge her for the nomination?

No, Obama is a man of dignity, unlike Trump. If you’ll remember, Obama never endorsed a candidate, even Biden in 2020 (his own VP) until the primaries were over. This phenomenon of the President and party leaders throwing support for one primary candidate over a different primary candidate is a Trump thing… just ask Dade Phelan or Ernest Bailes. Now that Biden has quit the race, there will have to pick a nominee at the convention. Most Dems want it to be Harris, so they’re saying so to head off a convention fight. I don’t know of anybody who’s spoken up to toss their own name into the hat for consideration over Harris-it might happen, but it hasn’t happened yet that I’m aware of.

No, typically presidents and party leaders don’t wade into primary contests. Until Trump, at least.

I'm not mad... but you can't come up with a reason to vote for Trump other than "I don't care about all of that.... I just like him." Because he was an abject failure as a president if you judge him on any metric other than merch sales.

That's the thing... Other than your affection for Trump, you can't justify anything he's done. You're doing the same exact thing that you accuse others of doing, but you can't see it. Trump is a repugnant human. Trump is a felon. Trump is a rapist. Trump is a liar. Trump destroyed our economy. Trump gave tax cuts to the rich. Trump got impeached twice. Trump cheated on his wife with a porn star. Trump paid hush money to the same porn star. Trump got stomped in his bid for relection. Trump directed an assault on the capitol after he lost last time. The list goes on and on. These aren't opinions, these are empirical FACTS. You might over look all of those facts, but you simply cannot accuse other people of voting their emotions when that's all a vote for Trump is.... idol worship.

It's like I was saying the other day... nobody expected Biden to last this long, so a vote for Biden/Harris in 2020 was essentially a vote for Harris- and 81 million people voted for her. Or at least against Trump. So I ask you... what has changed since the last time Harris beat Trump? Other than the pandemic ending and the economy roaring back to life. We're not at war. Everybody that wants a job has one. There are plenty of cars on car lots. The supply chain issues are resolved. Sure, inflation was bad for a while, but it's under control. The border is closed. I just don't see what's so bad about her that people will change their 2020 vote for her into a 2024 vote for Trump (who they hate). Ion know.

I hate to let the facts get in the way of a good story, but Kamala dropped out in December of 2019.... before the California primary in 2020- it's kinda hard to win when you're not even in the race. On the other hand, Trump is going to lose his home state of NY again for the third time (and the nation for the second time). I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Ummmm…. She was on the ticket that beat Trump in 2020, for starters. Then she had an uneventful (meaning she didn’t get impeached or indicted) term as VP for starters.

Potato, potatoe… you keep looking at the technicals, when the fundamentals are what rule at the end of the day. Trump looked great standing next to Joe Biden, who has serious mental deficiencies. At the end of the day, people will vote for a candidate that they like the best-and most people hate Trump-nothing changes that. Republicans really, really don’t like Kamala- and that’s not going change. Unfortunately there are more people that hate trump than love him. It’s just math. The ONLY thing that I can see changing the scope of things is IF Kamala has a debate performance in September that is worse than Biden’s, it might be up for grabs. All of the talk about records accomplishments are just wasted breath. It doesn’t matter what trump does/did, her supporters won’t be swayed and neither will his. That’s just how it goes. He’s a very dislikable person in the world’s biggest popularity contest. All she has to do is be less unlikable and she’s in.
