Y’all worship a man who brags about sexually assaulting women, then cry big ol’ crocodile tears when a jury believes him. We all know he did it. Y’all don’t thing he should get in trouble. It’s the reason that football players have gotten away with raping cheerleaders for decades. “But he does so much for us! It was just horseplay that got out of hand. She asked for it. Boys will be boys.” Trump is a rapist.

Yes, he is. A verdict was reached in a civil trial, and a jury of DJT’s neighbors felt that the plaintiff’s attorneys proved to them, upon a preponderance of the evidence, that Donald Trump raped her. Add to that, the fact that Donald Trump’s character attacks on the victim cost him over 300 million dollars in damages… and why was she able to win that judgment? Because she’d already proven that he raped her. It’s a fact. The matter is settled. He did it. And the comical part is that he previously admitted to sexually assaulting other women. Admitted, hell…. He bragged about it to reporters. The fact that you love him doesn’t do anything to the fact that he’s a rapist.

For once (and maybe the only time), I think you’re right. It might be happening early to give the left the ammo to dump Biden if he is a disaster tonight. I think they hop right past Kamala, but it won’t hurt their chances with their voters. What the objective see (but Trump fans don’t) is this. We all agree with Trump when he said that he could literally shoot someone in broad daylight and his supporters wouldn’t waiver-and he’s right. He’s a proven rapist, tried to overturn an election that he obviously lost, is under indictments, twice impeached, and a reprehensible human… but his supporters are proud to say “I’m still with him!” On the other hand, the sentiment against his enemies is just as strong. It doesn’t matter who gets nominated, those that hate Trump WILL turn out to vote against him. I know that’s hard for Trump fans to understand, but it’s true. There is not a single thing that’s going to make people who hate trump vote for him. They would literally vote for anyone. All the Dems have to do is trot out somebody less objectionable than Biden and it’s over for the Rs. That’s the danger of betting everything on a horse that can’t run, but you really, really like its name.

It’s not that simple. You just read where UT Alum said that Hardin County was 80% democrat in 1980… but according to you the fabled “switch” was finished by Nixon a decade earlier. That’s the fallacy of your argument… we can all agree that as far back as the Civil War, Democrats strongly opposed any measure that would benefit the black community. That policy continued all of the way up through the 1960s. That’s when there was a shift…. But it’s not what you think. It’s not like all of the old white bigots said “to heck with this! Let’s go be republicans instead.” My contention is that the Democrat Party of old didn’t hate black people… they needed the votes of white people, and they got them by whipping up racial animosity towards black people. Right about the time that the civil rights act was passed, the leaders of the democrat party realized that there just wasn’t a whole lot of white on black racial hate to work with… and with the changing demographics in America, they recognized that the next voting block to control would be the minorities, and the best way to harness that vote was by providing them a common enemy… whitey. That’s why you had guys like Strom Thurman and George Wallace renounce their “racist” ways and pivot to trying to win over the monitorities instead of catering to racist whites. You fast forward about 30 years and the democrats have convinced their voters that the whites are the source of all of their problems… just like they told whites that the blacks were the source of all of their problems. It’s not that the racist shifted sides… the Dems just shifted their focus because voters didn’t care about the old racism anymore. But, that same time frame and approach left a void. Suddenly you have white people (who aren’t racist) being told by democrats that “you don’t even realize how big of a racist you are, and everything you worked for means nothing because it was the result of white privilege, and in fact our voters deserve everything that you have…” and people got tired of it, so the next thing you know you’ve got a lot of people like the ones on this board who will fall in line behind somebody who says “I’ll fight those democrats for you.” He calls immigrants rapists, blows his dog whistle until he passes out, and convinces the tiny group of actual racists and antisemites that it’s safe to come out of hiding. “Build the wall” is their rallying cry. The democrat response? They open our borders completely, even though they know it’s bad for us… but they need to keep fanning the flames, too. And you can’t be opposed to the guy who wants to build a wall, but then construct one yourself, right? It’s madness, and it’s all about getting “us” to vote against “them” on both sides. And it really, really needs to stop.

That’s kinda over-simplifying matters. Are you talking about local politics or the platforms of the DNC/RNC? They’re two completely different scenarios. To be frank, a politician couldn’t get elected in Hardin County as a Republican… until 2010-2011 when the locals all switched to the R Party. I think that the truest example of a Democrat is the late George Wallace, Governor of Alabama. He ran in 1958 against a staunch segregationist and lost big time. Both Dems, btw. He came back in 1962 as a hardcore opponent of integration and won handily, becoming the racist spokesperson for a South that wanted to remain segregated. By 1982 he won his last term as Governor of alabama, still as a democrat, but carrying over 90% of the black vote. Who switched? Was it the party? The politicians? The people? All of the above, in all different directions and over a period of about 60 years. The problem with arguments about switching is that there are no constants. We all know that guy…. southern accent, white-headed flat top haircut, short sleeve western shirt with those old wrangler double-knit pants. He probably held public office all over the south, and he had some really crazy ideas about race…. Might not have been in the Klan, but knew a bunch of people who were or had been. And he voted 100% Democrat. We can all say “yeah, and he became a Republican after the civil rights act was passed!” And we’d be wrong. The truth is that those old ideals and ways of thinking pretty much died off. The truth of the matter is that the civil rights act passed the senate with a 71-29 vote majority. But it’s interesting to point out that the 71 “yes” votes were actually 27 Republicans and 44 Democrats voting “for” the civil rights act, with 6 Republicans and 21 Democrats voting against the Civil Rights Act. So which party was in favor and which one opposed? And now 60 years later, with an ideological split in America, both sides are trying to claim moral superiority and cast blame over history that, to be frank, we don’t understand. But to be honest, the Democrat party of 2024 is not what it was… and neither is the Republican. Just because things are so black-and -white today doesn’t mean that they always have been.

Like I said… just for the sake of argument. The person accepting applications at a Trump ORGANIZATION owned property marks applications from black applicants with a “c” so they’ll know not to rent to them. The gov filed a suit against the org and the suit was settled with no admission of guilt. That does not make a then 27 year old Trump a racist. Let’s just assume that a white Amazon delivery worker shows up at your house, gets in an argument with you, then drops and n-bomb. By your math, that PROVES that Jeff Bezos (who owns Amazon) is a racist. Oh, and I left out the part about how the alleged racism by Bezos’ employee happened 51 years ago.

It’s a proven fact that black people commit the majority of violent crimes in America, despite making up only 13 percent of the population. But racism is the reason that there are more black people in jail for committing violent crimes? Duh. The majority of individual wealth is comprised of our homes… but it’s exceptionally hard for single moms of any race to achieve home ownership. When 75% of AA kids are born to single moms, it’s not surprising that more black kids grow up in rent houses and apartments. I know a young man that dropped out of high school, got arrested a couple times, has three baby mama’s did some actual time, likes to smoke a lot of weed, has neck tattoos and can’t speak the King’s English. You’d say “well, that’s institutional racism, the legacy of our original sin of slavery, and the effects of growing up in poverty.” I’d say, “hold up… you’re completely wrong-this kid is white and he’s just an eff-up.” But you give no possibility to the idea that a lot of problems are self-inflicted, not the ol’ racist boogey man. And there wasn’t a current racist policy in that article. There was a lot of conjecture on the part of the author, trying to pin outcomes on racism, without a single shred of evidence, other than the outcomes. Racist laws and policies against minorities have been illegal since 1964. You can’t point out a single policy that’s discriminatory to minorities in 2024. Racism is imagined at this point.

You’re mistaken on this one. Can you point me towards one racist law, regulation or policy that is directed towards black people in 2024? Because there are none. On the other hand just rattled off a handful that have a direct disparate, targeted impact on white people. Want another? How about the 10% tax on tanning services that was put in place in the ACA? There are many (if any) non-whites paying that one. Very, very few black people in America can claim to have experienced actual racism. Not the imagined, perceived, institutional, or systemic kinds that liberals created and keep teaching the masses. The answer isn’t always “racism.” And when it has proven to be the case, decent people rise up and stomp it out. But people look at different outcomes and say “oh, that proves racism is to blame” when in reality there is a much more plausible explanation. Slavery ended in in the mid-late 1800s. But we’re told to believe that white people are more racist today than ever. And why is that? “Because that’s what your white patents taught you to believe.” Is it safe to say that black people think racism is hiding behind every door and shrub simply because that’s what they were taught to believe? I know hundreds of black people. Many, many good friends… from pillars of the community (not just the black community) all of the way down to guys who can’t stay out of jail. Do you want to know the MAIN thing that successful black people that I know have in common? They don’t buy into the whole “I can’t get ahead because of racism,” because that would mean that until society is destroyed and rebuilt, they’ll never get ahead. The people who recognize that the whole world available to them, and in a lot of cases panders to them, do amazing things. It’s all based on what they believe.

My opinion is this….Trunp probabky isn’t a racist, but he counts on racists to vote for him. Kinda like he does for the Christians. I think the term racist is useless today… it’s been twisted into a tool use to invalidate the opinions and perspective of anyone who doesn’t share identical beliefs. Oppose reparations? Racist. Disagree with Obama? Racist. Good at math? Racist. Vote Republican? Racist. Know your daddy? Racist. But it’s effective because if someone is “racist,” their very being is flawed and anything they say or do can’t be taken seriously. And the person has no choice but to pivot away from whatever point was being made to instead begin defending the allegations of racism. What if I told you that I believe institutional racism does exist. There are words publicly said in the US by a particular group… used in songs, movies, and every day conversations… but when that same word is uttered by other races, that utterance can be used to sentence them to prison for a hate crime? Not even considering the non-criminal penalties (loss of employment, etc) that the “wrong” speaker faces if he/she utters the same exact word? What if I told your there were schools of higher education and scholarships available only to certain racial groups? What if I pointed out that up until recently, the same ethic group was given preference in the admissions process and hiring process. Not pre “Plessy vs Ferguson,” but up until the last few years? People talk about a shift that occurred when the Ds became the party of minorities and the Rs became the racists… I contend that it never happened. The truth in my opinion is that the Ds have always been the party of racial politics, and when it became obvious that the old racist beliefs from whites towards blacks were dying off, and that the demographics of the country were changing, the Dems didn’t change tactics, they changed targets. Those old school white racists still exist, but in way, way smaller numbers and they don’t exist in positions of power. But when they vote they vote against the Dems, hence they vote Republican.

Like I said… just the fact that it commemorates the date that news of the EP made it to Galveston is reason enough to celebrate. But “that’s the day that Lincoln freed the slaves” just isn’t factual. And if the war was really about the abolition of slavery, why weren’t the slaves in Union states freed until AFTER the Civil War was over? The EP was largely a tactic used to encourage Southern slaves to flee and thereby cripple the Southern economy. Don’t get me wrong… slavery was (and is) wrong, and it WAS one of the key issues that led to the Civil War…. But it was far from the only reason, but definitely a big reason for the conflict.

I read an interesting account by some former slaves here in Texas that got the news within days of the word arriving in Texas. They were all summoned to the “big house” and told about the slaves being freed. They were fed a big meal, then most opted to leave the plantation immediately. They set out on foot, with no money, no destination, and no food… they just knew they were free. How scary would that be?

You’re not completely right. The slaves in confederate states were only freed by the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863… the slaves in the Union states weren’t freed until the 13th Amendment was ratified. There weren’t many, but they existed. The proclamation didn’t apply to slave owning states that remained loyal to the Union. Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, and Missouri. I’m all in favor of celebrating the end of Slavery… I just wish the actual history was taught. [Hidden Content]

We learned a few things (or should have learned a few) from 2020. 1. There was no widespread fraud. 2. Selling more merch doesn't mean you'll get more votes. 3. Biden beat Trump, then the economy got better and Trump's behavior worsened. 4. Hate is a more powerful motivator than love. The fact that a lot of people love Trump doesn't matter when even more people hate him... and they'll show up to vote for a potato instead of Trump. 5. Those anti-Trump voters aren't stupid... the people who re-nominated Trump are the real morons.

Fair enough. I like the distinction. What about full auto weapons? Current statues aside, do you think a 14 year old has/should have the constitutional right to purchase and carry a fully automatic weapon? My point is this.... we can all post memes saying "what point of shall not be infringed confuses you," but at the end of the day, at some point, your ideology is going to conflict with what you're spouting. You can be all for white dudes with beards and MAGA owning full autos and having the right to carry anywhere, but you really, really don't want 14 year old kids from the other side of town toting them to the mall. So you're not so much in favor of "no restrictions," just restrictions on others. And I'm not talking about you, specifically, but rather people who blindly support the 2A all of the way to some really dumb lengths.
