  1. And here is your problem. I remember my Mom listening to James Dobson when I was kid. She had some of his books, too. His radio show was “Focus on the Family.” And now he’s supporting a reprehensible human. People like James Dobson, who have condoned Trump’s words and actions are also to blame for the mess that were in. When men of God ignore evil and wickedness in their chosen leaders, destruction will come. The Bible is full of examples. At least Pontius Pilate tried to distance himself from wrongdoings. Dobson is still supporting the wrong.
  2. That’s why you can’t be taken seriously. Nobody “concocted” that attack on the Capitol on 1/6. It happened. Nobody concocted those boxes of top secret docs in Trump’s bathroom…. He stole them for “insurance.” That phone call to the atty general in Georgia trying to get him to falsify election results happened. The list goes on and on, but you can’t see it because you can’t handle the truth because reality conflicts with your beliefs… so you bury your head in the sand and chant “I’m the strong one…. Everybody else is weak. I’m the strong one… Everybody else is weak.”
  3. That’s funny… you must not have been alive in the 90s when all you saw on the news was Ken Starr, Whitewater, Tripp, Lewinsky, an impeachment, etc… I don’t recall Trump having his genitals photographed yet… Slick Willie did, though.
  4. [Hidden Content] Very interesting read here. For a MSN article, it makes a lot of good points. At some point we’ve got to step back.
  5. But that’s the problem. You attack the leaker instead of the guy who did the actual thing. The Ds may be godless and immoral, but they still dumped guys like John Edwards and Gary Hart for doing way less than Trump has done IN JUST THIS ONE INSTANCE. All they had were dalliances-Trump has impeachments, indictments, an insurrection, the documents handling case, rape allegations…. Y’all the new Dindus.
  6. Like I said… this is what y’all asked for. Eat up. “oh, y’all got your feelings hurt by some mean tweets?” Words and actions have consequences. Eventually we ALL get to sit down at a banquet of our own consequences and dine. This is what happens when voters select pieces of crap to lead them. Those chickens are coming home to roost. You weren’t “stronger” because you overlooked Trump’s flaws… it was actually weakness. Now here we are.
  7. So the Republican Judge down in Florida that’s hearing the docs case is a stooge and it’s all a sham, too? Im just an average guy with a slightly larger than average, you know… but everybody knows you can’t go off on a judge or his family when you’re before him. Trump is going to get his feelings hurt at sentencing. On what planet did it make sense to keep attacking?
  8. Voted late… I suspected he’d get convicted, but surprised by all 34 counts. They hate him in NYC
  9. No worries. My thing is this. Trump was badly flawed. We knew it going into 2016. As an incumbent, there really wasn’t much of a chance to nominate a different candidate in 2020. But after all that happened during Trump’s term, the election loss and fiasco that followed, and everything else that he’s been a part of since… we should have chosen a different nominee in 2024. That’s been my point all along, but that’s not what we did. His followers are very vocal and infect all levels of the Republican Party leadership-especially in local counties and precincts. Enough people decided that Trump is the only person who should be considered to be the eventual R candidate that he cruised to the nomination in spite of everything, purely based on the cult of personality, IMO. All of the signs were there. Trump is in a dead heat with Biden and has been all along, while every other potential R candidate enjoyed double digit leads over Biden. Literally all we had to do is pick someone over Trump and they’d cruise to a win over Biden-but we’d rather lose with Trump than win with someone else. Names like Gary Hart and John Edwards come to mind. Those guys were Dems with a small fraction of Trump’s baggage, but the party still dumped them and moved on… I can’t understand why the Rs have refused to self-police and choose someone with decency… who would also be able to win the popular vote. We (the Rs) should have made DJT an old memory… but force the Ds and independents to do it for us.
  10. Let’s be honest. Trump’s supporters are just like those sports parents that we all hate. You know, the ones who will overlook all of their kid’s shortcomings and deficiencies, demanding that their kid be made the qb. They’d rather lose with their kid under center than win.
  11. I have a friend that can’t get out of trouble. It’s never the controlled substances or the stolen vehicles that got him…. It’s always the cops who didn’t have probable cause to pull him over that are to blame. If Trump weren’t cheating on his wife with a porn star, this wouldn’t have happened. If Trump hadn’t tried to kill all of these stories, he wouldn’t be in this pickle. If trump hadn’t falsified records, this wouldn’t have happened. If Trump hadn’t been a complete jerk to anybody who wouldn’t indenture themselves to Trump’s will, this might not have happened. But if you want to blame the Justice System, go right ahead. You sound just like those people that complain that the system is racist after they get caught slinging cocaine.
  12. A banana republic is one where a party decides to ignore the will of the voters and come up with ways to inflict their views on an unwilling majority. It won’t work for long. We should have focused on finding a Ronald Reagan who was capable of yanking down 500+ electoral college votes. Instead we re-ran a guy that most people hate… and his friends are worried that he’ll turn on them, too.
  13. Amen…. I can’t believe that the party of God are the ones backing this candidate. And they’re paying a price for abandoning their morals and decency. The Republicans are the ones to blame for the fact that it’s a choice between these two. We didn’t HAVE to nominate this 3 time loser, twice impeached, often indicted and constantly sued candidate. There were plenty of more decent candidates in the primary, but we chose “our favorite” over what is good and right. We really wanted those mean tweets back.
  14. “If you want four more years of madness and mayhem, vote Trump.” Dems are never going to vote for him. Independents (in my opinion) know what Trump’s about and want no more of him. Sane conservatives like myself are saying “enough. It’s way past time to put this thing to bed… I’m not voting for Trump again.” There’s a reason that people who have already dropped out of the race like Haley are yanking down double digits in the primaries. He’s a bad candidate. There isn’t a person in America that believes in fate, karma, kismet, “reaping what you sow,” what comes around goes around, etc, that feels even a little bit sorry for DJT today. Two things that I said are coming to pass. 1. After 1/6, I said something along the lines of “Donald Trump will spend the rest of his life in and out of courtrooms for the things he has done and said.” And it’s happening. “He’ll be lucky to stay out of prison” was another thing that I said. My guess is that he’ll be hit with another huge fine and/or jail sentence on 7/11. But he BEGGED for it. 2. I said “as soon as DJT announces that he’s running in 2024, it’s over. Dems roll. They’re well on their way to that happening. The problem is this…. Those undecideds who you are counting upon to join MAGA in a wave of righteous indignation will do no such of thing. They are more repulsed by the things that you condone. Meanness, criminality, wickedness, etc… Republicans are the party of vice and corruption.
  15. But to be perfectly clear… I haven’t smiled once today. This whole thing is embarrassing as an American and as a conservative/republican. There’s no joy in watching in slow motion as our party implodes under the weight of misplaced idolatry.
  16. You’re not wrong. I feel like the prosecution wasn’t warranted and the verdict (like the one in the market valuation case) were miscarriages of Justice, and a waste of our time and resources. BUT, everyone who cheered “lock her up” is busy eating their crow today, or they should be. Unfortunately for Donald, the Ds weren’t kidding about doing what Trump promised, then didn’t deliver. If you don’t want your candidate to get convicted of falsifying the records I regards to hush money paid to a porn star, DONT NOMINATE MEN WHO CHEAT ON THEIR WIVES WITH PORN STARS!!!! Sacrificing morals and decency for the sake of “our favorite and we want him to win” has a price. Mean Tweets have a price. Fighting with EVERYBODY comes at a price. And no single man is bigger than the USA. He might be darling of MAGA, but the other 3/4 of the country aren’t going to stand aside and capitulate to the will of the red-hatted mob. Don’t blame the Ds for what happened today. The Rs are complicit, and in my opinion carry most of the blame for giving the tools that the Ds used to do this. I’ll be honest. I’m less concerned about what the world thinks about the old guy who craps his pants and can’t finish a thought, as opposed to the “godly, conservative” candidate who does all of these unspeakable, tasteless, insurrectionist, and sometimes criminal acts with no drop in support from his unwavering fanboys. It’s disgusting.
  17. This is what happens when you nominate a piece of crap.
  18. I think the interesting point is this… Trump backed candidates do better when Trump is on the ballot. Back in March Covey was up by 3%, and that skirt from Jasper pulled about 10%… and most people believed that her voters would go directly to Covey. Conventional wisdom was that Covey would be up by 10-12 points if all things went according to the pattern from March. That just didn’t happen. Typically turnout is lower in runoffs than in the primaries, and my guess is that Phelan had fewer votes this time around than last, but covey had WAY fewer votes. A friend of mine has been watching a similar runoff in central texas, and the results were similar. The MAGA guy just didn’t turn out the votes this May. My opinion is that a large portion of the support these Trump guys are just that…. Trump supporters. They’ll vote down ticket according to MAGA directives when Trump is on the ballot, but when they can’t vote Trump, they just don’t show up at all.
  19. Phelan won’t be Speaker again… SETX neutered themselves.
  20. I have it from good sources that some athletes were considering playing basketball instead of baseball, so the basketball coach had to go. Nothing new to see here.
  21. The locals have almost finished firing the first ever Speaker of the House from Southeast Texas upon direct order of Trump and his minions. It's a sad day... Locals have decided that being represented by the most powerful man in the House didn't mean anything.... they'd rather a political novice to represent this part of SETX. And why is that? He wasn't MAGA enough for them. Who cares that it will hurt locally... What Trump says, goes. Just yesterday I saw Trump on television demanding that we fire Phelan... How he's a RINO, weak on the border, etc... why? Because he wouldn't overlook the criminal actions done by Ken Paxton, one of Trump's key supporters in the effort to overturn the 2020 Election and allow Trump to remain in office despite the will of the voters. Trump never even mentioned Covey's name, and I doubt he would recognize Covey if Covey walked up with a cup of coffee. Who cares that it's bad for SETX? Not the R voters from SETX! Then I saw Covey's preacher on a different ad tell a bald face lie. Why should Phelan be fired? "He put Democrats in positions of power in the House." Really? That's been the position of BOTH parties for as long as anybody can remember. They ALWAYS give the minority party committee chairmanships. But in 2022 the Rs decided that the practice should stop. Democrat voters should not be allowed a voice in the crafting of legislation if there is a single majority Republican seat in the House, according to the Rs. Representative Government? Never heard of it, huh? Never did I believe that we'd have an abortion ban, constitutional carry, huge cuts for school property taxes, and Texas law enforcement being greenlit to enforce immigration law. But it all happened while Phelan was speaker. Without a doubt, the most conservative Speaker, ever. But still a dirty RINO for not being MAGA enough. It would be funny if it weren't true. I've been following politics long enough to remember when Rs couldn't get elected in Texas... I'm confident that we're headed back that direction. I mean, it's obvious that with population shifts we'll be turning blue eventually. I think that the behavior of the leadership of the Republican Party is going to cause that shift sooner than expected. I won't be surprised to see Democrat Senators and possibly even a governor elected within 12 years. Maybe less. The Rs will be a party apparatus without a voting base behind them.
  22. To clarify… Rs like wars. It’s undeniable. 1. George HW Bush- Persian Gulf War 2. Bill Clinton-no wars 3. George W Bush- War on Terror (Afghanistan) and the Iraq War 4. Barack Obama-no wars 5. Donald Trump- attack on Capitol Hill-failed insurrection 6. Joe Biden-no wars. But y’all are scared Biden is gonna get us in a war - was he putting that off until his second term? lol. Seriously, though… the Trump thing was a joke. He’s more Dem than Republican anyways. We all know that.
  23. How many American soldiers have we lost in the two wars we’re currently fighting? Because to the voting public, it’s not a war until they start covering caskets with the red, white & blue. You might not have noticed, but Rs are the party of wars… we always seem to end up in them when Rs are in the White House. Gotta pay back those defense contractors somehow, right?
  24. I didn’t care for him in ‘16 but I always vote Republican. He was the only choice in 20, but I almost didn’t vote for him… after everything that happened regarding the handling of the pandemic and his constant attacking of everyone, regardless of party affiliation… I didn’t feel like he deserved my vote, but I eventually did. After all of his lies about election interference, his attempt to overthrow the peaceful transfer of power, mishandling of classified docs, and continued petulant behavior, I’m just never going to vote for him. period.
  25. What is Biden putting them through? 401ks are rocking. Everybody that wants a job has one. Wages are up. No wars. And a POTUS they don’t hate. Trump does a great job of motivating his base. But he does an even better job of motivating THE OTHER GUY’S base. There aren’t going to be millions of people saying “you know, I voted Biden last time because I was sick of trump…. And since Trump left, everything has gotten better. I think I’ll vote for Trump next time. He doesn’t bother me as badly as he used to.” I fact, I doubt that there are any. Biden won’t drive people to the polls to vote Biden. He’s a horrible candidate. But Trump motivates MILLIONS to get out and vote “anybody but Trump.” That’s just facts, and no amount of mean tweets is gonna fix that for Trump.
