Shoot, son.... Grady asked me if he should apply for the BC job and I advised against it.

OH MY LORD!!!!!!!! From the article: "Though it looks much larger, the actual seating capacity compares closely to the current Lion Stadium. The visitor’s side is within 100 seats of the current stadium, with the home stands within 200 seats. Architects matched needs with current designs across the state, then provided details to make the new football palace a unique home. I expect Silsbee to be down this year due to graduations.... I'm not sure that there's a really clear favorite this coming season. I expect them to be pretty evenly matched with HF and Jasper, and I expect WOS to bring up the rear, assuming that the district remains intact and no other SOLID programs end up in the District. It's close enough this year that I just can't accurately predict anything. I also think that the district as a whole is looking at a down year.

We ran all over Newton with it in 15, too.

I find this interesting in regards to property tax valuations
CardinalBacker replied to bullets13's topic in Political Forum
Unfortunately, your homes value is determined by what some yayhoo was willing to give for a ""comparable" house this year. The state has access to sale prices and the rest is history. What drives me bonkers is they keep looking at comparable sale prices without subtracting the realtor fees and costs of the sale. If the house sells for 200k, the realtor netted $12k. The actual value to the seller was $188.... unless, of course, they agreed to contribute towards the buyers' closing costs. Now you're at $180k of actual value to the seller/owner. If you then back out the thousands of dollars spent "making the home ready for sale" by painting, landscaping, bringing items up to code, etc, the actual value of the property might have been $165k or so... but now everybody in the neighborhood is paying based on that one dude's sale price of $200k when NONE of the houses on the street are carrying an actual value of more than 165k. -
They might win since we're opting up.

It only stings if it's true, lil' buddy.

2023 Dallas Cowboys

I’ll do you one better. Here are the qbs that I wouldn’t take over Dak. 1. Zach Wilson (but only because Rogers got hurt). 2. Bryce Young 3. Bailey Zappe 4. Sam Howell Anybody else in the league with our current lineup is still playing next weekend. Piling up regular season stats doesn’t mean a thing when you lose games when it matters. If it’s a stat contest, Marino, Romo, and Dak are the greatest qbs of the Super Bowl era. -

Parcells 2.0 Three problems, as far as I can see... the 'boys are incapable of playing good football four weeks in a row-and they have been for years. They seem to lay an egg every third or fourth game, except the playoffs are three to four games. All it takes is coming out flat in the first half of a playoff game and you can call it a year. I don't think Dak is that dude. Heck of a nice guy, but I'm terrified when the game is on the line and Dak is under center... and he is, too. You don't want look across the field and see Aaron Rogers, Mahomes, Brady, etc under center if you've got a one score lead and two minutes on the clock... they're about to score on you. On the other hand, if the Cowboys have a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter and Dak has the blank, unblinking stare at the grass.... he's about to choke it away. You know that look. The Cowboys haven't taken a qb in the first round since '89. That guy is in the HOF, and we haven't won anything since he retired. Coincidence? I think not. There are literally 28 or 29 teams in the NFL with a better starting qb than DP... Tony Romo was stat monster, too.... except when it mattered. Dak is no different. I'm not sure that MM is the guy at head coach, either. Dan Quinn didn't look like a defensive genius Sunday, either. It could be that the Packers are a young team on the way to the pinnacle... and the cowboys just aren't capable of getting there in this current period. I can't even begin to think about the Cowboys extending Dak. It's like canceling your gym membership and admitting your just gonna be fat. -
I just don’t understand the thought process behind that decision.

Can you verify that BC actually opted up? I’ve seen nothing official. And for what it’s worth, I’d rather get out-athleted in 4aD2 than laid on by fat white kids in that D1 district.
-
I’m not in touch with the program much anymore, but I didn’t do a lot of cheering. Everybody knows that BC athletes are far superior to those that OF produces in every way, but we also play in a much tougher district. I don’t expect Smallley to have any better results in BC than he did at OF. Who knows? We might even finish as a four seed sometimes. I mean… if your district is populated by Silsbee, Jasper, HF, and WOS (the old WOS, anyways) you’d want to hire somebody capable of elevating the program to point where you’d be competitive, right? Or not.
-
Not true. Most of ours never sign up… the ones who actually turn out are in it for the long haul. So you’re wrong again.
-
But I bet he could make half of those OF boys quit the team just by hiring in.
-
Nobody wants to play Newton. Schools Newton’s size or smaller don’t want the beatdown, and for bigger schools it’s like picking a fight in a gay bar. You can’t brag if you win, but you’d better not lose.
-
No… the Golden Triangle is BMT, PA, Orange, and anything inside of the triangle formed by those three cities. Or the Triplex, if you were around in the 80s. [Hidden Content] SETX for me is basically anything East of the Trinity up to 190. But schools on the on that 190 corridor are kind of SETX outsiders. Livingston, Woodville, Jasper, and Newton are still in, but barely. Lum and Silsbee, for instance, are SETX but not Golden Triangle. Winnie? Setx, not triangle. Vidor? Triangle. Deweyville? SW Louisiana. It’s simple.

Just hang a clipboard and whistle on one of those stupid telephone poles between the stands and the field and let them boys play.
