  1. Wait… that’s what they say about transgenders getting to compete against girls, too, lol. I’m sure SOC would have just as many transfers of top tier athletes if they were 1-9 and missed the playoffs. The whole thing comes down to thjs. If you ask MOST communities “would you accept 40 out-of-the area transfers if it guaranteed a deep playoff run, even if all of the kids who grew up here lost their “right” to play?” they would say “nah… we want our own.” Some communities would be like “yes… we’ll take that. We want to win if that means suiting up ALL transfers… even those up to 24 years old, academically ineligible, etc… we want to win.” This second type of teams should be facing each other, not the ones who play by the rules.
  2. Here’s the thing… Izzy is right-we don’t understand these communities. You can have a league like the stjfl where a city like BC has just enough kids to field a team… you just have to play the hand that’s dealt to you. You have a city like Ned also playing in the STJFL, but they’ve got two or three teams. And thanks to dad coaches getting together, you end up with somewhat unbalanced team. PNG white is better than png purple this year because they kind of stacked the talent through loopholes or whatever. Then you have a squad from PA having tryouts, cutting kids, etc, and fielding a single super team filled with the cream of the crop across their entire city which is much, much larger than any of their fellow cities in the league. While most civilized communities would see this as a perversion, the simple-minded, loud-mouthed Izzys of the world see this as a good thing, because this is the only chance most often these young will ever have to make out of the hood. And if you disagree with him, you’re a racist. Nobody should be stacking teams in the UIL. It’s easier in metro areas than in the rest of the state.
  3. Isn’t it funny… people who have a proven record of success are racist and don’t understand… but the guys who fail at everything are the ones who have it all figured out. In your mind, anyways.
  4. Son, let me help you out. We know all about the communities that fail these kids. The problem is that those communities don’t understand how the world actually works. If I’d been failing at life for generations, I might start trying to emulate what successful communities do to raise productive young people instead of continuing to bet it all on lottery tickets. Your wounds are self-inflicted.
  5. I wouldn’t expect Silsbee to have a problem with it. 🙄
  6. Let's be honest... kids who are transferring around in high school TYPICALLY aren't going to college to get a degree. They're heading there for an NIL deal and then a mega deal after they play out their rookie deal in the pros. Education is the LAST thing on their mind. But statistically speaking, they'll likely never finish a degree plan or DEFINITELY never make the pros. So why are people selling them a lie? At that point you have to ask "what's the point of going to college if you're going to be unsuccessful academically, then never make the pros?" You're just setting kids up for failure in life just so that your favorite high school team can get a few more wins. That's how kids end up back in their hometowns in trouble with the law. That's my problem with society in general. One community says "have fun... when it's over you can join the military, hop on that Hazelwood and get moving in life. Or hold down a part time job, take out some loans, further your education and get a semi-white collar job. Heck, go learn a trade and make decent money... you can have a good life-it's all up to you." So kids do. Another community says "the only way you're gonna make it out of here is by balling out or dropping a fire mix-tape." Which doesn't happen, except when the stars completely align. When a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of kids actually do manage to earn a living as an athlete, why do we sell that pipe dream to everybody? I doubt that a single kid from PNG over the last two years ever plays a snap of pro ball. I'd bet that MAYBE two kids from SOC in the same era will ever play a snap of pro ball. So was it worth it?
  7. Fighting for women? Y’all just elected a proven rapist.
  8. For the same reason that Rs are fighting against trans people… their supporters want it. The good news is that the change of leadership that comes in a little over a month will likely put the brakes on a lot of this nonsense. I remember a few years back when they were celebrating a new “green fleet” of navy ships that were all fueled by bio fuels. Every boat in their group was “green” on this particular trip abroad. And somebody finally admitted that the cost of fuel was 25x what it would have been if they were using traditional fuels. That kind of stupidity.
  9. "The war (in which I never saw any action) gave me the Type 1 Diabeetus (which is a genetic condition). Who's gonna pay for my prosthetic leg once they amputate my big fat leg?" To answer your question... I'd drink, like men do. Not demand a monthly check... like welfare queens do.
  10. At least Newton still has their DC plaque.
  11. I didn’t “assume” it wasn’t invested… it wasn’t invested. So your premise is faulty from the start. I pointed solely at Medicare because I feel it’s the biggest financial loser of all. The numbers don’t lie… you’ve paid less than $50k towards Medicare over your career. To stand there and chirp “but I paid for it! It’s MINE!” is a bald faced lie, if Medicare has paid more than that amount towards your care. The point I’m making is this… one third of all federal dollars spent in 2023 were borrowed. When 95% of that total spending is a sacred cow (military, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, interest on our debt, etc…. How are those two billionaires gonna save us? They can’t, because y’all won’t let them. The areas you want to see trimmed are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Y’all keep comparing Medicare to an insurance policy….. it isn’t, and it wasn’t. It was a savings account that drew no interest. Add to that the fact that the fund was depleted by big government, health care costs soared, we all started living longer on average, and population growth stalled, and the whole thing was proven to be a state sponsored Ponzi scheme. And old farts hollering “just wait until I get paid off, then screw the rest of y’all” should be met with some cold hard reality. Y’all elected and re-elected the jerks that destroyed it. Your generation as a whole is responsible for its collapse and should be punished.
  12. The numbers don’t lie…. You think you’re owed much, much more than you ever contributed. End Medicare when the individuals’ contributions are exhausted. That last two hundred dollars goes towards a syringe full of whatever they give those victims at the Walls Unit.
  13. Your Medicare tax rate was 1.45% of your gross earnings. So if you averaged $75k annual for your entire 50 year career (bag boy at Market Basket at 16 y/o until your started drawing Medicare at age 65) you would have personally paid $54,375. Except you and both know that you weren’t making $75k a year as a bag boy 50 years ago. And it’s unlikely you ever grossed $75k at any point in your career, either. Your actual contributions to Medicare probably total less than $40k… but you demand free healthcare because “you already paid for it.” you a welfare queen.
  14. Here’s the problem… all of the money you paid into Medicare won’t cover a week-long stay in the hospital in today’s money. You’re demanding a handout.
  15. I mean... it's not like they're gonna be successful regardless. Judson Pritchard: "Are the Lions gonna win this game tonight?!!!" Lion Student body: "Well, HELL NO!!!!!"
  16. How about Social Security? Are we ready to discuss that one? What about Medicare/Medicaid? How do we feel about defense spending? I just ran through a majority of our federal spending and haven't hit on a single area that you or anyone else is willing to even discuss making cuts.
  17. I read through a website and it was little confusing to me.
  18. Maybe if y'all's quituation rate wasn't so high....
  19. OLD Livingston peeps know what’s up.
  20. He's not a billionaire, so he won't get a spot in the Cabinet.
  21. I'm not up on the legal jargon, but you shouldn't squeeze the life out of somebody and then walk away. The "victim" needed to be subdued... I don't have a problem with the choke hold to render him unconscious. Hanging onto it until he's dead is a completely different story. I'd be curious as to what kind of training the young man had. If he knew that keeping the choke locked in would lead to death, then he was wrong, IMO. It's kind of the complete opposite of what happened with George Floyd. The officer put a knee on Floyd's neck which did not result in Floyd's death.... but he was convicted anyways. In this case the guy absolutely and without question choked the "victim" until he was dead. But he gets a walk. It's like this... somebody threatens you and you have to protect yourself. Punches are thrown, somebody gets KO'd and cracks their head on the pavement. I get that there are some legal defenses in that scenario. However, if you knock the assailant out, then stomp on his unconscious head until his brain is hanging out, you've committed a crime, imo. Same thing here.
  22. Yes, but no. There's a very, very small percentage of SELF MOTIVATED individuals who are capable of being productive without supervision. Frankly, most people are not productive when working remotely. Studies have shown that most full-time, remote employees actually work less than 12 hours per week. Great for the employees, not good for the employers, or more importantly it's terrible for the customers who ultimately pay the price for the loss of productivity in the way of higher prices for goods/services.
  23. "We want Buckethead's Boy!"
  24. You wish.... I was talking metaphorically.
