  1. But you're still all about the guy said "grab 'em by the p-word," said Megyn Kelly was probably menstruating when she asked him tough questions, insulted Ted Cruz's wife, cheated on his wife with a porn star, and recently lost a civil case over one of many (unproven) sexual assault allegations. I think that's a little bit worse than getting a little sloppy-toppy from a slightly overweight yet remarkably average looking intern. At least JFK was bagging dimes. [Hidden Content] Your guy is a piece of crap and you can't even admit it.
  2. Like I said... you wholeheartedly believe anything that's written about Hunter Biden regardless of evidence, proof, etc.... Just because somebody said it, it has to be true, right? I mean, some guy with a computer repair shop says it, and that's as good as gospel, right? Let's have an investigation. But then you turn around and say "how dare they investigate Trump!" I'll be honest... i have a hard time differentiating between Trump/Rudy's "quid pro quo" with Ukraine and the allegations that are being made about Hunter Biden/the Big Guy. Other than the fact that Biden is accused of doing it earlier than Trump is accused of doing it. Kenneth Starr went after the Clintons for years and got nothing. All of this talk about the Clinton Foundation yielded nothing. To date the Hunter Biden investigation yielded nothing. Russian Collusion yielded nothing. About the only thing that I can see gaining any real traction is Trump's voter issues in Georgia.... They have him on tape telling the AG to "find" the exact number of votes that he needed to win GA (but still lose the election, btw). That's actual evidence, not hearsay, wild speculation, tall tale, half truth, or absolute lie. They have the actual call recorded.
  3. I've said before also... if it's seized as a result of a crime (used to transport, purchased with drug funds, etc) then it should be seized. But just because some cop pulls you over and thinks "hey, they shouldn't just be carrying that wad of cash.... let's just take it" is wrong, IMO. But the police officer in you says "yeah, where there's smoke, there's fire. If they can prove it's not illegally gained, then maybe they can win it back. They just need to go to court." It's not up to a police officer to decide what I should and shouldn't have on my person when it isn't illegal to possess in the first place. There is no risk at all for law enforcement when seizing property... so why wouldn't they try it? I repeat... what's reasonable to a police officer isn't reasonable to the rest of us, sometimes. By your logic, some beat cop from Las Vegas would be well within his legal authority to seize Mayweather's backpack because there's no reason that he should be carrying that kind of cash.
  4. [Hidden Content] I remember this one, too. I can remember back YEARS ago when Sulphur PD got in trouble for basically stopping and searching cars with Texas plates at night purely to confiscate their gambling winnings…
  5. It seems you’re not objective. If I choose to ride around with 42k in my vehicle, I’m not very smart… but that’s no reason that the state should be able to take my funds “just because.” There should be no proving of anything by a citizen… the burden of proof should lie solely upon the state. And you can say, “oh, it’s up to the DA” and “they’ll get their day in court,” but at the end of the day the police agency will end up with the seized funds, so y’all really, really don’t seem to mind to badly if a few people lose their big piles of cash, even if it only turns out to be for 4 years or so. You know, “temporarily.” Here’s another question. Does the police/DA actually hang onto those exact bills, or is the money entered into the registry of the court and deposited into an interest bearing account?
  6. That's the scary part... if I'm arrested in connection with a drug trafficking offense, sure... but just because a police officer says, "gee, that's an awful lot of money and I don't buy your story about being on your way to buy a truck. I think we'll just take it" seems like a distinct violation of the 4th Amendment.... but what do I know?
  7. See, here’s the difference between us. I don’t see a whole lot of difference between claims of corruption at the Clinton Foundation, Whitewater, Russian Collusion, or Hunter’s Laptop. Is it crazy that “they” would put on a whole bunch of unfounded allegations (which they whole-heartedly believe) when “we” also put out a whole bunch of allegations of our own (which we whole-heartedly believe) when neither turns out to be proven? I’m not surprised.
  8. As somebody who's normally pro-cop and generally on the side of law and order (even if I do call 'em pigs), this issue is one that's hard for me to stomach. They can take the cash with no justification, sit on it indefinitely, and the odds are stacked in their favor that they'll get to keep it if it all goes wrong. Seriously.... If they picked 7K off of you, would you pay some attorney $5k in hopes that he might get your seven back? Probably not. It's just wrong.
  9. I personally feel that the entity who couldn't prove that they had a right to seize those funds AND every person and the police unit involved in the arrest and prosecution should each be held personally liable for an amount no less than 3x the amount they seized, with interest at 18% from the time it was seized until it is refunded. So, if they take 10,000 off of me, the city/county/state owes me $30k, the cop who took it personally owes me 30k, the DA personally owes me 30k, etc. plus interest. It would put an end to the underhanded nature of stealing people's money... Currently there's no deterrent for the bad behavior on law enforcement.
  10. And you have to pay your own legal fees out of pocket.... Most people make a business decision to just give up.
  11. Two things... we should make it easier to come here legally and also control the inflows... whether legally, with borders, penalties, or whatever means necessary. Secondly, if you REALLY want to stop the invasion, start courting the migrants to be Republicans instead of screaming "GO HOME" in a language that they don't understand. Nancy Pelosi herself would be on the border stringing barbed wire if she thought the majority of immigrants were going to vote Republican.
  12. Very few people voted for Biden. Most of that 81 million voted against Trump. If you ask those 81 million people "do you regret voting against Trump in 2020, all 81 million would so "Nope. And I'll vote against him again in '24 if the Republicans are stupid enough to nominate him again." So I'd say that Biden is still starting out with a huge lead for 2024. Nothing has changed. The pandemic is over and nobody (except hardcore right wingers who are going to vote "R" regardless) is still mad about mask mandates or free vaccines that saved millions of lives and ended the pandemic. But here's the real problem. Every day the newspaper is filled with obituaries of old conservatives... and every day thousands of kids turn 18 and very, very few of them are going to vote Trump. I foresee Trump rolling easily through the primary process thinks to the blind allegiance of his supporters, then we'll see an even more aging group of red-hatters with flags on their trucks all through next fall, then another round of "b-b-b-b-but.... the CHEATED!!!" when he gets his cheeks clapped again in the general. Nothing has changed since 2020. Literally nothing. Here's the question of the day, though... if you go to bad at night mad at those mean ol' Democrats because you foolishly believe that they stole the election in 2020... what's gonna stop them from stealing it again?
  13. Well, the Dems' plan is working to perfection... "Trump" up some charges and Trump's die-hard supporters will rush to his defense just to show the Dems that their God can't be taken down... and Trump will sweep up the Republican nomination... then get his bee-hind kicked back up around his ears like he did in 2020. Y'all are literally like puppets on strings being manipulated by the left. It's so sad.
  14. Nah… I always call ‘em pigs. It’s a term of endearment. And probably one of the nicer names they’re called these days. Really, though…. Try it. It’s usually good for a laugh.
  15. I suspected that some of these men might have been returning fire at the party, then they didn’t cooperate with the pigs.
  16. Well, now that 4 people have been convicted of seditious conspiracy for their actions at the Capitol on 1/6, are y’all still sticking with your opinion that nothing illegal happened at the Capitol that day? I remember several of you asking “if it was an insurrection, why wasn’t anybody charged? Well, now they’ve been charged, tried, convicted, and await sentencing for their actions. What about it? Still just a peaceful tour of our Capitol in your eyes? [Hidden Content] still can’t tell a difference between BLM looting a footlocker and Trumpers trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power?
  17. I favor a progressive income tax, but something is bad wrong when the upper tax brackets are over 50% (on those who actually pay taxes on their income). We pay property taxes on things we own... but we don't pay sales taxes on our real property when it's purchased. Morally I have a problem with paying tax on income as it accumulates, but then having to cede most of it when I pass, also. It's always the have-nots who think nobody else should be doing any better than them. Neither the state, nor the general public have any right to my estate in front of my heirs.... and to state "well, they should cap that... we deserve that inheritance, not that man's family" just doesn't ring true in a free society. The idea that my kids will have to sell off land that's been in my family since the 1800s just to pay off an inheritance tax is preposterous. Or at least it used to be.
  18. I read someplace that "alcohol doesn't make you do anything... it just lets you." It was already there, the booze just allowed you to let it out.
  19. White kids, too, I'd like to point out.
  20. FWIW, I've been hearing that there's an ongoing conflict between kids from Jasper and Newton and this shooting was a part of that ongoing conflict. Reading this morning that the Newton/Jasper game fb game for next season got canceled kinda seems to support that.
  21. Yeah... the truth will come out, I guess.... whether the locals want it to or not.
  22. My opinion hasn’t changed. I can’t remember the last time a mass shooting happened and the suspects were arrested five days later without even being identified publicly. heck, we usually know everything about them within about three hours after the shooting.
  23. But for the record, you can’t oppose abortion and euthanasia, but still support the death penalty. Read that again… if you support the death penalty, your no different than a pro-choice lib.
  24. Yes, but better for your family to let you go than some claim specialist at Aetna to make that call, or some hospital administrator.
  25. You probably missed my point entirely. I think it's strange that nobody is talking.... The deal in Cheek at the rodeo a couple of weeks ago? I wasn't surprised that nobody talked. This deal in Jasper is strange because the victims were mostly white, but not talking. They don't seem like the type to know the "street code." I'm wondering if the "persons of interest" aren't somehow connected to the power structure there in Jasper and that's why we're not hearing anything. The lack of information and obvious lack of concern by local law enforcement indicates that something is going on behind the scenes. I'm not exaggerating.... if somebody shot up a prom party in Lumberton they'd have choppers, dogs, roadblocks, etc... they'd be broadcasting who the suspects were, photos from fb, what they were driving, BOLOs, etc... or at least saying "we've got 4 persons of interest in custody... there's no need for concern from the community at this time." Somebody up in Jasper is getting the same deal that the convicted murderer in sabine county got a couple of months ago.
