Actually? Everybody who wants a job has one. Prices are up, but everybody has gotten raises except for people on fixed incomes, and the Rs are the ones holding that up. I know three people who have bought homes in the last two weeks. The car dealerships are stocked up again. There aren't any grocery shortages or lockdowns. We aren't in any wars. There haven't been any riots since 1/6. We're going to elect a democrat president in 2024 because all the Rs have to offer is Trump and a promise of more dysfunction.
-
The thing is this.... for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. That's pretty much a universal law across the universe. Trump went around doing crappy stuff to everybody, but his supporters cheered him on. The Karma train has finally made its way back around and his supporters can't see a correlation between the way that he treated everybody and what's happening to him now. Y'all spend all day talking about the "Biden Crime Family" and "Killary" and "election fraud" without a single shred of evidence, but now you want to cry when your guy is facing the music for things he actually did. Y'all whining like little girls with skinned knees.

So, the voters weren’t even mad enough to let the Rs have Congress back in 2022, but now they’re mad-mad? I remember the crowds at Trump’s rallies all chanting “Lock her up! Lock her up!” But who’s getting locked up? The irony is DELICIOUS. I remember telling all of y’all that trump would spend the rest of his life and fortune in courtrooms, but nobody believed me. I can’t remember which one of y’all argued that he’d never be arrested. Welp, it looks like it’s coming true, doesn’t it?

Y’all amaze me. Trump got throttled by the worst nominee ever (Biden), then literally tried to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power by yelling “he CHEATED!” like a six year who just lost a game of Monopoly to his big brother. Trump has not done a single thing except alienate potential voters for about 6 years now. This isn’t somehow going to get him re-elected. All 81 million people who voted against him are celebrating tonight, and half of the ones who did vote trump are like “why are we still entertaining this clown? He’s in-electable.” and then you have the Trumpers, who didn’t even believe this day would come. Just wait. Georgia’s election interference will be his next indictment.

Do you believe me now?

Willie Ray Smith Finalists - Silsbee SWEEPS!
CardinalBacker replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Football
So is crying about a guy who lost to a better nominee six or seven years after it happened. Let’s make it simple. Pretend that one Friday these two qbs faced off in an actual football game. Which one would lead his team to victory in a head to head battle? That’s another pretty good indicator of who the better player was. FWIW, it’s not statistical analysis, it’s a contest that’s voted on by members of the sports community, a majority of which rightfully believed that The Mighty Jack Dallas deserved the WRS Award. Take a Tums and get over it. -

Maybe if he'd led his team to three State Championship Games, he'd have won the WRS. -

Man Severely Mauled By Dogs in Beaumont

Here's the thing... If you're pushing a baby stroller and see a golden retriever, our reaction is "oh, look! A doggie!" But when we see a pitbull, we want to scoop the kid up and use the stroller as a weapon. It ain't no different with people. -
Trump possibly being indicted in NYC today? What about that call to arms he issued last weekend? Are y'all too busy dusting off your tactical vest and zip ties to bother posting here? If there was a story of this level about Hunter Biden, Reagan would have already started 76 new threads. But we've got dead silence at this point. I'm not surprised.

87-Year-Old Silsbee Man Charged With Murder
CardinalBacker replied to bullets13's topic in Local Headlines
All joking aside, those old people will kill you. I worked in an auto center when I was college and one day this really old guy came in and wanted his battery replaced for free because he hadn't had it that long. We walked out to his truck and the battery obviously came from one of our competitors. I explained that we could definitely test it and replace it if necessary, but he'd probably have better luck at Walmart where it came from. This guy went from 0-100 in a flash. He started furiously digging in his glovebox and the look on his face told me that he wasn't trying to find a receipt. I dipped back indoors. They helped him jumpstart his truck and he left, and about 45 minutes later his son called and wanted to apologize... said that his dad came home looking for a gun and they took his keys away. Those really old people lose their ability to reason things out. -
And to that point.... He's a first year head coach! What did you expect him to do? Everybody knows that a first year head coach of a bunch of white kids can't make it to state in year one! Jeez.

Son, the smart fiscal conservatives left the room a long, long time ago. Except when it comes to the social safety nets, of course. -

Meh.... Both sides share responsibility for this one. Trump definitely set it in motion, but but Biden hasn't done anything to curb it, other than spending even more money. -
FDIC Takes Control of Silicon Valley Bank After Its Collapse!

Like Bobcat was saying... firms took out PPP loans, then had no actual losses from Covid. The loans were forgiven and those firms just had a huge "bump" in revenue for the year. Some gave bonuses, made investments... just spent more cash and the "loans" were forgiven. -
FDIC Takes Control of Silicon Valley Bank After Its Collapse!

The best part of the whole thing is how this is actually a result of fiscal policy in the pandemic era. The tech firms that were the primary depositors in SVB got PPP loans... that swelled the balance sheets at SVB and they needed to park that money somewhere. They bought securities at low interest rates, then inflation happened across the economy as a whole... the solution was for the Fed to raise interest rates, then suddenly SVB was paying more in interest on funds on deposit than they were making on the securities that were purchased. Long story short... the government dumped tons of cash into the economy which ended up in banks like SVB, then inflation happened, then the solution to inflation was to raise interest rates, and now the banks are failing because of that chain of events. We literally dumped Trillions into the economy re: Covid and now we're about to drop billions more to fix the problems caused by the initial dumping. This scenario last happened in the early 80s when inflation and interest rates went wild. The bad news is guys who were around at that point are all dead or retired in 2023. -
In 2016 Dubois’s BC team threw the ball occasionally. They hit the tailback and what I’d call a tight end numerous times through the season. I felt like Dubois would have opened it up even more if we’d had more arm on the qb. I have a good friend who played in a wing T system in West Texas all through jh and high school and he came with us to a game or two. One of the things that he pointed out to me was how our qb would pop his head up on passing plays immediately after faking the handoff. He was like "yeah, our coach killed me over and over for that..." Dubois will throw it if he's got a kid that's capable.
